The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

I was falsely accused of trying to sell illegal drugs and marijuana I had some help Lucian that I tried to sell and they took away my rights three years ago and I have been trying to get them to tell me why they took me off but if you go on their website you see tons and tons of people selling CBD and hemp that is not marijuana but they will not allow me back on their site I am A Christian and I do not believe in taking illegal drugs much less selling them please do not sign up on this business and be very careful of buying products from people because the owners will not back you up
Do not ever buy anything through their shipping. I bought an item that was claimed to be new and unused and received the item and it clearly had been used and had scratches and scuff marks. I tried to submit a claim through their buyer protection program and it would not let me because it kept stating that the item had to be received by me which it was. I contacted the seller who gave me the run around and then disabled his account. This company is bad news and I am out $110. Stay away.
Pros: Easy to list. Offers local pick up + shipping. Phone app easy to use. Can keep listings active for as long as you like.
Cons:
* Alot of scams on the site, and fake accounts ripping people off.
*Some of the advertisers listed on the site are scams.
* If using the shipping option, the selling fees are much higher than the competitor. Shipping fees also much higher. Lightweight items can be charged the same rate to ship as heavier items. The items I sell on OfferUp are, on an average, $4.50 higher than the same listing on a competitor site due to the fees and high cost shipping.
* If using the shipping item, it takes at least a week for OfferUp to credit a sale. Again, longer than a competitor.
* You cannot rate a buyer who fails to show up or causes problems. I think OfferUp should have this option bc it would cut down on scammers.
*The app does not allow you to delete messages. Very annoying.
I sold a product to a customer and shipped it by FedX instead of USPS. They canceled my entire sale and refunded my money to a customer that had already received the products. You can't call them!
I will never use OfferUp again! EVER!
Got scammed on OfferUp and had to contact customer service. All I got was worthless canned emails in response. If you're going to use this site be sure to use a credit card with strong fraud protection because you'll likely need to use it.
If you have been scammed from Offer Up please contact me at *******387. I'm hiring a Law Firm to look into several deceptive trade practices. If you would like to join my class action lawsuit against them please reach out to me.

Becareful with this seller on offer up. He is a thief, he stole my $200 but never reply back or send me the Item. He is a SCAM!
Just forget selling on this platform.
No one has money, they even try to scam you by giving you fake cell phone numbers then to steal from you in person. Unbelievable.
I just gave it go my brother who is a lawyer. This site should be banned and flushed away.
Stay far away. Same is valid for letgo!
Don't even try to buy anything in this platform. They don't care about their customers. You won't be protected by anything. We are specting a baby boy and bought a coccon camera and it was locked. Seller said I should contact coccon customer service during Coronavirus time, I did they couldnt help. I try to get a refund and return the camera and the customer service of Offerup didn't care and so far no refund no camera working. I hope karma does it work with them
We actually really liked Offerup. It was a great service and we were able to buy and sell a lot of thing. My husband built up some great reviews (5 star w/ abtou 40-50 reviews). There was one incident during the holidays where we sold a recently purchased record player to a woman. I still had the receipt from Best Buy and it was in perfect working condition. The woman reached out during a week time period in which we were in rural Montana and completely out of reach. She threw a significant fit and called us scammers and was so incredibly offense in her responses because it wasn't working. I get that it was emotional and she was frustrated but we literally did not get her messages because this was during the holidays and we were offline. When we finally got back online and back to California, we tried to reach out to her to give her a refund she had blocked us and apparently had offerup block us. I reached out to them SEVERAL times as well as her to resolve and explain the situation and offer a full refund but nothing. Offerup would not respond or even open back up the account even with all of our 5 star reviews. I understand how the misunderstanding happened but Offerup won't even respond... even to help us make things right. I don't think they're a 1 star actual product because they were fine as a product but terrible for service.
I got email from this comp that I voilated some rules hence they removed my account but I was given no proper reason on voilation. Is it professional attitude? I sent them several emails but everytime same automated email, wowww! I am so shocked to see this customer care attitude from this company and now I started believing that they are doing some fraud to customers.
Buyer said item arrived broken. Buyer got a refund, and me, the seller was getting nothing. I requested proof of the breakage and a tracking number so I could file a claim with USPS and they said they are not required to provide me with ANYTHING. It took a complaint to BBB and the FTC to get my money. My guess is OfferUp could still file the postal claim and get the entire payment. Now OU has disabled my account so I can only sell locally. I will now be reporting them to the Postmaster General. Beware. Their customer service is horrible.
Scam, bought a cpap machine new in the box.It was broken old junk that didnt work.
Lost my money and learned my lesson. Dont use offer up.
Sellers will cancel orders because they receive higher offers after the sale! They allow sellers to treat buyer how ever they want because a review can only be made after a sale. I have traveled hours to meet sellers, only to be stood up! And you cant do anything about it! Don't waste your time! Offer up is a POS!
If only there are 0 stars review, reported 2 possible scammers but their only reply is what you can read and find on their website and they didn't even take down the posted items on their website. I guess i will be going back to Mercari and Ebay.
Offer Up is great because it has a system in place were users are verified, which gives buyers/seller a bit of feeling secure with whom you are dealing with on the site. That is if you carefully scan the site for True members and pass by those many many many seemingly shady postings. My main complaint with offer up is that to many members waste your time with questions, low ball price, make plans to meet then cancel at the last minute. Even is you mention on your post that you mark as "sold" once sold people still ask "is it still available?" or if you mention the price is "firm" they still offer a lower price or insult you with a ridiculous offer. In my opinion Offer Up should find a way for users to be more respectful of sellers time and be more serious about what they are interested in buying,,, Before I sell an item I must get 20-30 text daily. Then when I finally get someone who is serious and we make meet up arrangements I am always thinking they will be a "No Show", which has happened. Offer Up is not worth the aggravation and stress from people wasting your time with low balling, asking questions already outlined in the posting and last minute cancellations. There should be a way to monitor these people and close their account if there is an excessive pattern of wasting someone's time. I will be cancelling my membership...
Offer up is a piece of junk and garbage. I gave up with them. Behind anonymous nick name without phone# 95% ot people just play games and waste your time. Ignore offerup if you dont want to waste your time. Craigslist is a 100 times better and realiable.
Ads are left up for over a year and are no longer relevant. Filtering for "local pick up only" and "within 30 miles of your current location" results in search hits hundreds of miles away. For some items this might be fine but other items a consumer might want to inspect prior to purchasing. Given that the ads never expire and may be hundreds of miles from your location there are other more reliable sites that offer a better consumer experience. Someone pull the plug on OfferUp's server.
Omg I wish I knew your website... there customer service sucks. I bought a gaming system and I have yet to get all the pieces... offer up gives u 2 days only to review the seller
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
