Our delivery came and as we unpackaged it we realised it was damaged. We had difficulty getting through to anyone from the company and even when we finally did, they never returned the calls as they said they would. I sent an email to which they replied promising they would ring me but they never phoned back. After shaming them publicly on facebook they immediately rang me and said we'd get a replacement. The van finally turned up to replace the furniture but they'd 'forgotten' to bring it, it hadn't been put on the van. How on earth did they forget?! So we are still waiting, its so inconvenient having a huge box in the living room for weeks on end. They're not even sorry.

Terrible delivery
September 11, 2018

Bought 2 sofas from the Middlebrook store delivery 7 weeks when the day it was due to arrive I was given a time slot. So far so good they phoned in the delivery time to say they will be 20 mins. When they arrived they said they are in boxes they would take the sofas out and bring them in but not put them together. There was no way I could put them together by myself. They left leaving two massive boxes filled with polystyrene and wrapping on the street it was raining hard could not even move them got soaked to the skin trying to cut boxes up so I could put them in car 5 journeys later and 3 hours I was able to put my sofas together. Never again will I shop there

Shop assistants
September 10, 2018

I have never experienced such pushy shop assistants in all my life. This was the second visit to oak furniture land in Guildford. I liked a set of table and chairs. As soon as I walked into the store I was asked if I needed some help. I said no thank you I am just looking. Then he came over to me and said the bedroom furniture is upstairs. Said that I was not looking for bedroom furniture thank you. Then again he came up and said are you sure you don't need any help I was so fed up I did not feel comfortable and walked out I had enough. You lost a sale Oak furniture land BIG MISTAKE

Purchased sofa chair and footstool in march 2018 all arrived damaged or sent out homeserve to repair unsuccessfully. They then offered to replace, so had to wait a further 16wks for replacements to arrive they arrived on August 9 2018 again items damaged the chair looks second hand and has gaps, I'm not joking, of 4inches between the arms and seat the settee won't lock at the back on one side and there are a number of scuffs on the leather have. Have taken photos. Informed ofl who again sent out homeserve they said they could bring back to showroom condition.
Am I missing something here it should have arrived in showroom condition.
Ofl say they will now refund upon return hmmm.
Yes very soft after one week wife 8stone wet through me 13stone ish no children, little darlings jumping around, anybody interested a company called landbond supplies ofl managing directors name Jason bannister!
Rubbish furniture, Rubbish company, even worse customer services anyone even remotely considering buying from this company my advice based on personal experience is DON'T save yourself the time wasted and hassle gained!
One more thing homeserve tell lies Am 2k down at the moment

OMG! Ive never had so trouble with a delivery before.Man with a bad attitude. Couldn't deliver because of the door, the plants, the garden, the cushions. Every excuse! When I followed him to the van after all it must be so big if it cant go through the door. He stood and shouted at me in the street. In the end Guess what it went through the door after all. Had problems unpacking it. Being single and trying to lift a sofa on my own. I will never use them ever again. Customer services don't care either.

This is by far my worst experience. The store said the bed would be assembled, they left it for me in a box and did not assemble it. It is a king sized bed and my husband is away.
This is a frequent complaint I hear from a trusted source. Never trust what the sales staff say. They tell lies to get the orders, The customer service manager obviously lacks training and has no idea how to solve issues like this. Nothing was done to help, they offered £20 towards me paying someone to assemble the furniture.
In future I will stick to furniture village, certainly won't be using them again. I will be informing training standards too.
I feel sorry for the owners of the Company, they will get one time only customers. Hopeless!

I bought 2 wardrobes, 2 bed side tables and a chest of drawers for almost £2k. I was also forced to pay £39 for express delivery without a proper explanation even though I was happy to wait in all day.

The wardrobes arrived in one whole unit when I was told in store it would be two and an Allen key required to assemble. The drivers couldnt even get them up the first flight of stairs they wanted me to store them and hire a carpenter to rip out my stairwell!

I had to return them but to take the items off my property they charged me £370on the spot and said they couldnt do anything more and that it was my fault for not measuring properly. They also didnt say in the store that there is a 25% cap on bigger items if you need to return it. On top of this the drivers even said that 40% of deliveries end up the same way!

Whilst this was going on my partner is heavily pregnant and was getting extremely stressed which didnt help either.

In the end I ended up complaining and I managed to get a full refund but still no furniture so back to square 1.

Please approach this shop with extreme caution before you do anything as they are con artists.

Beware of scam!
July 18, 2018

Two wardrobes were delivered already built, and could not possibly go through any door, not only mine. This was not clarified anywhere in their website. I had to pay £100 each (!) for return. Never again with such scammers. I'll bet return policy is part of their business plan. In other words: don't buy with Oakfurnitureland, unless you are 100% sure you are aware of their hidden conditions they use to predate on your money.

Don't Bother
June 28, 2018

Not only do I not have any furniture but I am actually 2 days pay worst off than when I started.

They managed to get the furniture near my house. Close enough for my wife to see but they could not get it the last few hundred yards. Rather than go to the sales office and ask, as we said to do. They just left.

When I re-booked it back in they did wave a missed delivery fee, that was good of them considering I was in, in the first place. They apparently did not book in right and I waited in another day to be told it was not coming.

I can't risk having more time off work for them to maybe or maybe not deliver it so I had to cancel the order. (They did not even seem to fussed about that). Feel bad for the people in the show room as the woman we dealt with was lovely.

Avoid this company at all costs.

What a swearword Joke!

Tried to ring the delivery department to explain that both me and my partner work in a school and are unable to take a day off so could we leave a note to say that the ONLY time sot we cannot be home for is 7-10. This was apparently impossible and I was told I had to confirm the delivery date before I would receive a time slot, even though I would be charged £40 if I couldn't be there for the allocated slot. I suggested paying for the customised delivery, however, they do not deliver on weekends which left me in the same position. The only thing I could do was cancel my order to which the woman said straight away I will cancel it - making my £600 purchase seem absolute worthless. I couldn't cancel the order as it was in my partner's name and so accepted the delivery date - I received the 7-10 time slot. Now I will be charged £40 and still have no furniture. Ridiculous system that is not accommodating for people who work at all! I can do any time between 10am-7pm just not those first three hours. Absolutely outraged that my discount is going to be ruined by charges out of my control... I would not recommend the company to anyone (unless you don't work)!

I purchased 4 seater sofa because of urgency but the quality is terrible and I am very regret to pay almost 1000£ for this. Fabric is really disturbing in terms of softness, feather used inside the pillow is made from like straw. Never advise.

Leather sofa
June 4, 2018

Purchased a leather sofa 3 years ago, after a year noticed webbing under recliner was splitting. Contacted Oakfurnitureland who told us to contact warranty company. Only structure and damage covered. The sales person told us everything was covered so now have a sofa with foam coming out the bottom of recliner. Just discovered the webbing between the seats has split. What a waste of money.
Don't buy from them.

Sofa Nightmare
May 4, 2018

Bought two sofas in the Southport store for the high back and firm seat cushions only to be extremely upset as the seat cushions became so soft and uncomfortable after two weeks. After sales team came out and just told me that is what happens with settlement. No help or offer to replace them. Contacted head office just to get the same response. Disgraceful customer service. Left me feeling totally humiliated. Total waste of £1500. Please don't ever give them your hard earned cash.

Would strongly advise against using this company.
We spent over £2,000 on 2 new sofas. Both sofas arrived damaged. Really hard to get through on the phone as sat in queues for over half an hour and customer services arent open at the weekend. The replacement sofas were also damaged so had to take a third afternoon off work to wait for another replacement. All this took months to sort. Will never use again.

Extremely pushy sales people. Following you around constantly and wont leave you alone for long. They tell you to mention their name to any other sales person so they dont poach customers which is off putting. They contradict themselves by saying their furniture is so much better than any other place and will last forever but pressure you to take their 5 year protection in case the wood warps or comes apart. Not a pleasant shopping experience and will not go back again. Very unprofessional by remarking that we wasted her time and she couldve gone home early. Overpriced and AVOID!

Harassment
April 7, 2018

Put mobile number in when looking at the finance options on a nice looking table, decided against it in the end. Since then they have been badgering me and called me 11 times in under a week! I never even opted in that they could contact me, definitely against data protection!

I have spent 40 years working with flat packs and to be honest have never had a problem anywhere Until I received a Country Cottage Wardrobe yesterday.
When it arrived it was damaged but I could deal with that a simple glue and repair job.
However then came assembly. I have just spent 4 hours having to put right their own assembly errors. Can you believe the wardrobe itself came with both ends of the wardrobe being a Top! There was no bottom, just two tops! I had to use my own carpentry experience to rebuild it. But what if you do not have carpentry skills? The screws supplied were 15mm I ended up using my own 40mm screws.
I also had to remove the door catches and fit my own. I will never purchase from these guys again and I already contacting customer support will be a waste of time. By the way their furniture is made in India. I have plenty of pictures to share.

I bought a Devon leather suite in October 2016, took out the 5 year extended warranty at £194. The leather is now coming off the arms of the chair, claimed on the warranty but told it was normal wear and tear, complained to OFL but told to take dispute up with the warranty Company an its not there problem, complete waste of time. I will certainly not be going back.

Awful company purchased a Sofa in 2014 been trying to resolve an on going problem since, Homeserve insurance not interested very abrupt. No point taking out the extended warranty they are quick enough to take your money but not fix the problem. Will never buy anything from Oakland Furniture again they only want a sale after care is awful.
