So booked a 7 day French Polynesia Cruise. They arranged flights, at first we were getting there early in the day and then we opted tp stay 2 days later, our original flight was in the evening, they changed it to have us on the first flight out so we lost a lot of time on the island. Then we were supposed to be in Moorea for 2 days had some awesome excursions planned, nope, they screwed up and now we get a sea day instead of being in port cancelled the excursion of a lifetime. Then they had issues scheduling flights for other passengers so instead of leaving on a monday we are now not leaving the until Tuesday when the rest of the passengers arrive in the wee hours and our time in first port will be cut in half again causing an excursion I was very much looking forward to being cancelled. I also think they have the absolute worst technology. You are not in control of your own reservation you have to call them for every single thing. Other cruise lines allow you to make your own changes. Also as soon as you book an excursion they block out all others available during that time so it's difficult to see if maybe you want to make changes. I hope the trip experience is better than this.

PRICE DROP
November 2, 2022

Today the price dropped on my paid for cruise on the Sky sailing on January 13th., 2023. I was told by the rep that if price dropped, NCL would make an offer for the difference. Today I was offered an upgrade which is not available or a certificate for the discounted price on a future sailing to use within one year of this certificate. I suggested either a shipboard credit or possibly an additional specialty restaurant. Obviously NCL is not interested with a past client of some 9 cruises with NCL. I guess there are options on my part on our future cruises.

Just an absolutely terrible customer service experience with Norwegian, we will never sail with them. We booked and paid for our cruise in advance and two weeks after our payment due date called to add flights. They added the flights while we were on the phone, but because this was after our payment due date it triggered an automatic cancellation of our already paid for cruise and the application of penalties of more than 50% of our payment (which was a lot!). After nearly 4 hours on the phone we were able to have the penalty reversed (after dealing with several people who refused to do so) but our reservations are gone and there are no longer spots on the ship we were initially reserved on, or others. Just overall a really, really terrible customer experience, I feel lucky to have not lost any money just hours of my life, lots of stress, of course I haven't told our kids that their expected holiday cruise is cancelled yet (first world problems I know but this is a cruise company review).

I booked a Panama Canal cruise knowing it had 7 "at sea" days. But, it also had Central American countries. Last minute, they changed ports and it became Columbia, Panama and 4 Mexican ports. They waited until the day after the refund was at 50% to post the change - just so they could keep half my money if I canceled. Yup, I canceled, you don't pour good money down the drain after bad money. Also canceled the other cruises I had arranged but hadn't paid for yet. NCL will never get my business again.

NCL Untrustworthy
October 17, 2022

Plan your own airline transportation. Don't allow NCL to plan your flight. It will ruin your trip.
Choose your own room. I trusted NCL to choose my room. They put me in a lower grade room than I had paid for. I asked for a refund for the difference between the room costs NCL refused. Fairness doesn't matter you paid in full. Take it or leave it, your screwed.
After you pay, you must sign a contract under duress that you will not join a class action suit against NCL. If you don't agree to all demands you lose your money.
Have a nice Trip!

Booked a cruise to the Panama Canal and six countries. Notified twice of countries no longer with stops. Now we're going to only three countries. Pretty much now it's Mexico in the Panama and we haven't even left yet!

Norwegian is booking our airfare with one paid one free. They have so far booked one person one way. They show us coming and going from the same port, not the ports we sail in and out of. They say you must make adjustments to your air like upgrades 75 or 61 days ahead. Your air isn't even booked until any of six "moving" dates including 25 days ahead. No one that answers the phone can answer a question in less than an hour's wait. A nightmare plus all the free at sea promotions are also a scam. Get the Federal Maritime email and prepare to join the other complaints at the Miami Better Business Bureau. You'll never book with this company again.

I recently booked a $13K cruise for my family of 10. I have been living a nightmare since. I didn't know a cruise line could have such power and your rights disappear as soon as you pay in full (which they insist on very, very quickly). They made errors to begin with and overcharged me. I pointed it out and they fixed it and then wrote off my overpayment instead of refunding me! We're talking $877. When I tried to get it fixed, they ran it again and charged me another $239 per cabin with no explanation. I waited for "resolution" department for over 2 hours before I gave up in tears. I then realized they charged me more for a quad (4 adult children in one room) than I could get for 2 doubles... after all the pain they put me through, would they work with me to get a more comfortable set up... this only 2 days after booking so not a lot done yet... Hell no! They have their policies that the DO enforce to the death and that is, don't do anything that benefits the customer. They wouldn't fix me to the better situation because their policy is that would be a cancel and start over and I would lose 75% of the $5K I paid for this quad. End of story. Dead end. They don't care they owe ME $877 for overpayments. They don't care they wasted hours of my life and my wits fighting for what should've been a no-brainer. It isn't their policy to be good, fair people. Truly the devil. Do NOT use NCL! Really, don't do it!

Rude Captain
September 26, 2022

During a meet and greet of the excutive officers on the Norweigan Joy a question was directed to the Captain about the engines and boats life span, he made a point of correcting me that it is not a boat its a Ship. His tone and manner was humilitating and embarrassing nor did he answer the question directed to him... He pparently thought he was funny in front of the others in attendance... Perhaps he should work as a SHIP commedian. Norwegian will never see me on their Curise Ships again

I had planned to go on a cruise to Alaska in August. Bought the ticket in July and did not think of buying insurance as it was so close to the actual cruise timelines. Did not expect anything to prevent me from going. I even added upgrades the last two weeks before the sailing date.
Then about a week before the sailing day, my brother was taken to the hospital and we were told 2 days before sailing day that he was not going to make it.
I called the cruise line to try and re-schedule my cruise but did not get any empathy or sympathy for what I was going through. Was told that this was too close to the sailing date and that it was too late to either re-schedule or get a refund. This after they told us to find a different cruise and call them to re-schedule. After much discussion they refunded the upgrades and a 1000 dollars. Said that these were the rules. Too bad for us.
This was an unplanned event. My brother was not sick when we made our reservation. My brother passed away on the 25th, 2 days before sailing day and this was impossible for me to travel at that time. I felt that there was no feelings, no empathy from the cruise line - Re-scheduling would not have been such a big issue, and punishing us for an unexpected event seems to be very harsh... I will never travel with Norwegian cruise line... would not recommend Norwegian cruise line to anybody. They have no feelings...

I BOUGHT THE "DEAL" ON BOARD WHICH GAVE ME A DISCOUNT OF $1000 ON MY STATEMENT AT THE END OF THE CRUISE. I NEVER GOT A COPY OF THE STATEMENT AND NCL NOW ONLY WANT TO GIVE ME CREDIT FOR $250 PER CABIN ON FUTURE CRUISES AND NCL REPRESENTATIVE SAID I WOULD GET $500 TO BE USED PER CABIN WITHIN 4 YEARS! T E R R I B L E! Toilet did not work ( off and on) for 2 days! And the king size beds can no longer be split for 2 singles.

We just got back from an Alaskan cruise on the Bliss and will never cruise Norwegian again. There was no time to enjoy the ports whose visits ranged from 3.5 to 7 hours--if you could get off the ship on time. We booked this cruise because it had the longest visit in Victoria only to have it change to 1.5 hour stumbling around in a dark garden at 9:30 at night. We saw no animals, no stars, a glacier from miles away and a whole lot of the inside of our cabin. We booked this cruise 4 times because of Covid and each time we paid more and got less. You are not allowed to bring any drinks on board including water and soft drinks. We were charged $8.40 for a can of diet Pepsi. They also lock down the internet unless you pay $39.99/day. We keep hearing about how friends had a wonderful time on their Alaskan cruise. None of them sailed Norwegian.

Terrible Cruise
August 20, 2022

We took a cruise the beginning of August 2022. The value of the cruise was worthless. We were suppose to go to 4 ports and we went to 2 1/4. We spent 4 boring days on the ocean out of a 7 day cruise. They switched the itinerary without letting us know. The paint on the balcony was cracked all over the place and peeling. The bed had a sag in it and hurt my back. I wanted to cancel the cruise the week before and asked for a refund before sailing and they told me they would have to charge me a 2500. 00 dollar fine for canceling. I have been on others cruise and had a great time. This was the worst cruise of my life. I would never sail with Norwegian cruise lines ever again. I don't trust them.

Norwegian PEARL. This was the absolute worst cruise line that I have been on and I have been on 15 cruises. This was a budget cruise charging exorbitant prices. We were in a suite and we had no information provided for special check in, why pay $11,500 when we could have paid $2,000 and gotten on board like every one else. Get to our suite and it is dirty, the cabinets have greasy finger marks on all cabinetry. The terrace is filthy with paint chips and debris, the cushions were filthy and it took 3 days to be returned to our terrace after cleaning. Staff are rude and unaccommodating especially the bar tenders. No one takes a drink order, you have to wait in line for drinks. When you order something the bartenders don't even understand what you are saying and they were abrupt and rude, raising their voices. Food in dining rooms is mediocre which forced us to do the specialty dining and having to pay more. Guest services is a joke, they do not CARE at all about the guest experience, They do not greet you at all when you approach for assistance, they seem to be miserable and snippy. No garnishes on any drinks for the first two days! Specialty water was not replaced daily in our room so we had to order room service. The sewage smell on the 9th floor was disgusting and concerning. Bartender yelled at me that there was no frozen rose and he could not make frozen wine, yet the machine was right by him saying FROZE. We wish we had spent our dollars else where, what a horrible trip. Bowling alley, only one lane was working. Basketball court, only could use one net as the other was smashed and broken. Ship sailed from Bar Harbor kiltered on its port side, not sure why? Bar tenders would skip you if the guest behind you flashed some cash to them. INAPPROPRIATE! Alot of up charges too, food quality was poor at the Pub, it looked like frozen fish fillets in the fish n chips, inconsistent drinks, glasses had alot of lipstick residue. Shows were not very good, not much to do for the 18-20 crowd. Shopping was poor not a good selection to choose from. All in all it was a trip we wished we had not taken.

My brother and I just returned from our cruise on the pearl, Boston to Bermuda. I booked a Suite costing almost $7,000 for the week, the first time I walk into the suite I see there is a queen bed and a rollout sofa. The sofa was all stained and threadworn. Frankly I didn't want to sleep on it because it was dirty, the first night they do not roll out the sofa and I have to sleep with my Brother. The second nite the steward rolled out the sofa but alas, no mattress. I complained to the steward there was no mattress and they wheeled in a hospital bed. Picture this a small living space with a queen bed, sofa and hospital bd. Again, no mattress unable to sleep. I spent a week without sleeping arrangements with a spinal chord disease. Never ever book this dirty old boat. It's dirty, worn and smells like sewage in the hallways. What a waste of money and time so disappointed. They delivered a small bowl of fruit which I put in the hallway by Saturday, yuck. The casino is the most depressing casino I've been too, dreary and smelly. Save your money try someone or something else because this really sucks

If anyone needs a cruise agent look no further than JASON BROWN. He will go out of his way to help with anything and everything. He's knowledgeable courteous and professional and a hell of a great guy. My wife and I wish him the best with his career because he is sincerely dedicated to NCL.

NCL airline package
August 4, 2022

Made a BIG mistake of booking our airfare through NCL when we booked our cruise. We were shocked when we saw they booked us on flights with multiple stops and 5 hour layover. Called NCL to request a change to better flights. It took 3 attempts to with waiting time on hold exceeding 45 minutes before could speak to someone. It was no use as was told no changes allowed. Please don't make my mistake and book your airfare with NCL!

My family and I cruised on NCL Getaway in June 2022. To start, our pre-board covid test was not accepted by NCL staff and we had to purchase an additional test before they would allow up on board. We used one of the services recommended on the NCL site yet they refused to accept the results.
Several of us in our party have food allergies, my grandson has a fatal nut allergy. We completed all of their forms and advised all restaurant staff. The second night, my grandson was served nuts in his bread and ended up in the ship emergency room. I am allergic to several other items and was regularly served food I could not eat.
It was our first time on NCL (and our LAST!) and nothing was clear about where to go, what restaurants were complementary, how to disembark at ports, etc. It was extremely stressful.
We had to regularly check our on board accounts as numerous erroneous charges would appear and block our access to our accounts. I was constantly adding cash just so we could eat and drink.
The last day, I spend hours in line correcting the accounts. I was reimbursed a fair amount of cash due to the overcharges and was still detained for over 1/2 hour because there systems were "down".
All in all, it was an extremely expensive stress filled "vacation".
I strongly suggest avoiding this cruise line, Carnival and Royal Caribbean have them beat hands down.
