I am currently going through the process and it's not bad at all. I'm having a pretty pleasant experience my Counselor is amazing. After I finish with the program and purchase my home I will let you guys know how the end of it went.
We're working with NACA to purchase our first home. It's a lot of work but I just know it's going to be worth it in the end. We have learned so much and we're so excited to buy our home!
Hi. My name is Sergio. And I've been with NACA since last year. It can get frustrating, but we're not giving up. I like their customer service. If you call you counselor, and she's not available, she always emails me. Her name is Michelle M. She's determined to get us our home. We have our next meeting with her at the end of the month. And we might have to wait a bit more. But time is still going by, and we WILL get our home before Christmas. God willing.
Very nice and simple program also right person to work with, my counselor Magen Evans, she is the BEST (I really mean it) If NACA consider the current housing market increase the loan based on how much I can save/ afford every month last 3+ year, High computation going on zero chance to find 2-bedroom house with $ 1549 monthly mortgage in DMV area.
So I am currently going through the process with NACA. So far there aren't any red flags. There is a lot of work but that is expected when trying to purchase your dream home. The agents are nice and willing to help in anyway possible. Once I reach my end goal I will do another update.
I found out about NACA's home buying program from a friend. I called NACA, attended a three hour session, which was very informative. My counselor is patient and helpful as we go through the initial process. I am super excited as I continue on this journey in becoming a home owner.
I've been working through my NACA application for almost a year, and it has been pivotal in helping me understand how to purchase a home, and how to qualify for a mortgage. Rachel (my NACA counselor) has been an invaluable resource, and I am so grateful for her expertise and guidance. I cannot suggest NACA more, anyone looking for assistance and education regarding homeownership, activism, and anything related to these topics should submit an application to NACA!
NACA has been a God send in terms of first time ownership. I look forward to working with the staff.
Great webinar with the panelist to.
If you guys are worried about the four hours let me tell you today those hours flew back because the panelist are great and did a excellent job explaining everything.
I am excited about the program and joining. I have already told at least four people about NACA and will definitely tell more.
My mom has been going through the home buying process with NACA and so far its going good. I was part of the first intake meeting with her and her counselor was patient and informative.

If you are wanting to purchase a home, do research the NACA program. NACA is the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America.
Visit the NACA website at naca.com for clear, detailed information about this non-profit, community advocacy and homeownership organization.
The site is very informative and transparent, explaining what NACA is and how the program can help you on your journey to home ownership.
Carefully read the material on the website, watch the videos, register for a several hours long workshop to learn more, ask questions and receive your NACA ID.
The website and workshop will give you the information and tools needed to make an informed decision about NACA and if it is the right program for you.
Good Luck!
I have been going through the process now for a year. They seem to want to help you as long as it takes. You just have to be patient and have everything they ask for ready or willing to get, to get it going faster. You gotta want it how ever long it takes, thats my opinion I will give an up date when ever I'm done with my process.
We turned to NACA to help us out with our house. After 2 months of talking to our caseworker, getting everything he needed, all paperwork and jumping though all the hoops all of a sudden he ghost us. We had absolutely no contact, tried emailing, calling, calling customer service. We got nowhere over the last couple months and now we are going into foreclosure. The very reason I asked to help!
My NACA experience has left me with the drive to push forward no matter what my encounter becomes. Even though I am I the early stages of the program, this experience has taught me to be as organized as possible. At the beginning of my NACA journey I was extremely impatient and wanted everything to fall in place immediately. I realize that in order to complete this journey you must be patient through every obstacle, push with limitless persistence. It doesn't matter how many times paperwork is asked for, do it immediately! Keep all your files up to date, create files in your computer for your taxes, bank statements, W2's etc.… Learn your NACA passwords and use them frequently because you may need to upload something quickly, should they ask you. When you have your documents at hand you can transfer them immediately to where they need to be. Again, I've learned not to complain and just do what needs to be done. The end result is the ultimate goal and is worth the wait I believe, in comparison to other mortgages. Keep a running list of questions and keep and open communication with the representatives of NACA. Check to make sure all your paperwork has uploaded to date in time for your counseling intake session, this will save you so much trouble and the possibility of your file being overlooked. Take nothing for granted as your preparation will prevent your date being moved further down the line. Look at a few houses in the area you wish to buy, look at the mortgage amount, be committed to consistently saving the extra amount that would make your new mortgage! Save, save, save and be committed to a budget!
Very good business to deal with. Don't judge on credit report and has no down payment. Great customer service.
This home buying program has no down payment and no closing costs. My friend referred me. She knew someone who actually became homebuyer through this program. I have already started the process. The counselor is very helpful and patient she answered all my questions and walked me through the qualification process. I am excited to become homeowner soon. I highly recommend NACA program!
NACA counselors are consistent in providing the necessary information and guidance that is needed throughout this process. They have allowed me to gain knowledge on the home buying process. To become one step closer to achieving my goals to becoming a home owner. This has been a great experience, that requires hard work and dedication, but through it all NACA has shown to be a reliable program that cares about their customers. Thank you NACA.
My name is Naheem Williford, and I just want to give NACA a praise and a big thank you!
Going through this process with my mom has given me a different outlook on hard work and responsibility. To see my mom so dedicated in providing some stability for my siblings and I has made me see her in a different perspective. In the beginning, she tried other mortgage companies, but nothing was more promising and self rewarding for her besides NACA. Naca gave her a sense of reward to keep pushing forward. Any one looking for a house should consider Naca. The MC (Dwayne Jordan) my mom worked with was awesome and very informative. He answered and assisted her up to the very end. He would have still been with her if he hadn't received a promotion. We were happy for him but sad he was not working so closely with us.
Thank you NACA for giving us a gratifying acception of becoming a home owner

Answer: I decided to go with NACA because they don't consider your credit score and the counselors work with you to become qualified. NACA has made me more diligent with saving money by not spending on wants but needs. This method has strengthen my assets considerably. Also, because you have to volunteer your services as you see fit at least 5x a year which is great because you are giving back to the community. DEE in Far Rockaway
