Poor customer service that is almost impossible to get a hold of. Dont trust at all.The free basic plan is just a way to get you trapped in the automatic renewal billing cycle.

I have been using the MyHeritage program several years. I submitted my DNA testing to them. They work very hard keeping me up to date on missing ancestors, matches from other family trees and new ideas to the search program. I have many relatives free to enter into and see the tree. We are able to contact other people with matched info in their trees. The people at MyHeritage even updated my DNA report after two years of sending in the specimen. They don't forget about you. All of my concerns were handled in a timely and professional manner. The Rep. Stayed with me while I preformed the task I called about; worth the time I was on hold. Liked the option offered to leave a call number and not spend time on line.

The frustrated reviews seemed to come from impatient individuals who weren't willing to assist in the search. Many more links than for which I had even hoped. Still working and am continuing.

I bought TWO kits. First one was easy to activate and Mail off. Second one says it is an invalid code. So, I called, waited 40 minutes to be told she would sent a message and they would get back to me. After four days I sent an email. Still nothing!
I have done the test and now waited six days. All I want now is a refund.

They took out the annual payment ON the 14th day. I called to cancel ON the 14th day and they said sorry all they could do was credit me 50% since I hadn't canceled sooner. Made it sound like this was a big favor to me, well shame on me for falling for the alleged 14 day trial period. I'm lucky I am getting 50% back in 7-10 business days, yay me when I wasn't planning on paying anything. You would think to provide good customer service and to get GOOD reviews which would gain more business they would have spent the additional $35 to make me happy. Bad Business practice. Thanks for nothing MyHeritage. Not to mention I was on hold in queue at 18 and spent 25 minutes on hold which only proves to me everyone was probably calling to cancel!

The results I received are an Ethnicity "Estimate", and they didn't match documented family history. They keep sending "matched relatives" messages for people who match so few segments, it's hard to believe their data is based on science. There's no way to check out these people to see if they are really related unless you pay for a subscription.

I believe the DNA testing is just a way to get you in the door so they can hit you up to subscribe to their service, because you can't get any information on any of the "matches", or response to support tickets, unless you subscribe to one of their packages, which start at $120/year, and go up to $250/year.

I sent in a support ticket, and got an autoresponder stating they'd get back to me asap. That was 5 weeks ago. No one ever responded.

Would I recommend this company? No, no, no, no, never.

For $130 you receive the percentage of your heritage. That's it. Anything else you may be interested cost more money. Takes forever and the ethnic breakdown is bizarre and truly of no help

Family history research.
February 14, 2017

I have joined this family history site recently. I have found aspects such as links to other trees very useful, other aspects more complicated such as correcting data incorrectly inserted.
However, today's adviser was Itai and was extremely helpful and patient, listening, taking me through and answering my queries helping me to correct errors. Thank you.

As a senior citizen with little computer experience, I hesitated to undertake creating a Family Tree. But since this will be part of the legacy I leave my family, I jumped in despite a great fear of failure. What a wonderful surprise to encounter the most professional & courteous reps to rescue me when I get lost, without making me feel foolish. So far, I didn't ONCE have to call a grandchild to help me! Best ever!

Don't Do It!
February 12, 2017

I thought I'd try the "free," two week trial period and after a week I sent them a message that I couldn't join right now. They took my money out of my account anyway, causing me to be overdrawn and penalized at my bank, and when I tried to contact them there was never anyone available either by phone or by E-Mail. I would keep getting what must be mass replies only saying that someone would get back to me, which of course, never happened. Right now I'm going through legal, channels to get my money back, something I shouldn't have to do. I'm sure whatever compliments they receive are from employess of my heritage. The whole thing stinks of scam!

SCAM CITY
February 10, 2017

I don't see where others who use this site say they are so polite when they never answer me. I tried it for a week and found I can only add a few people to my line and they keep telling me my own matches and then want to charge me for them. What kind of crap is that. I have sent them numerous communications through their website to cancel my subscription to no avail but they were quick to take my yearly fee for their little bit of nothing. My Ancestry.com is twenty times better and I don't have to pay for a year when the most space they will allow you is filled in 2 days, unless of course you upgrade for another 135.00 a year? And their so called matches aren't even from other ppl but from your own searches and if you want to add anything, fork over more money first. PURE JUNK, STAY AWAY FROM THEM

THIS IS A SCAM
February 9, 2017

This is a total scam, their website is terrible, and when your free trial is over they will charge you for a full year. It took me waiting on hold 3 times, with dropped calls from their end and no contact from the billing department to finally get a hold of someone. If you have given them your info and been charged call tech support and do not let them get you off the phone until you have demanded to speak to someone from billing as contacting their billing department through their posted support number is impossible. Do not email them as you will get no response. I have finally gotten through after being very firm and stating that in their terms and conditions which you signed for the free trial that it clearly states that if you are dissatisfied you are guaranteed a full refund as long as it is within 30 days of the purchase. Obviously they will try to give you the run around until after that time but be persistent and demand to continue to speak with their higher ups until you finally reach their billing department, Make sure they know you have read the terms you agreed to and tell them you know in them that you are entitled to a refund. They will then offer you 50% back with out cancelling your subscription or a 100% refund and will cancel your subscription. Please put these scammers out of business and do not give them any of your hard earned money. They are a complete joke and will do anything they can to keep your money. Know your rights and what you are entitled to and they will be forced to give your money back. I have been promised a full refund though it is yet to be seen and may take 3-5 business days. I am thoroughly disgusted by their business practices and their complete lack of help through all of this. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all cost. The other more well known genealogy site is much more helpful. Gilad Japhet should be jailed for his way of running this company.

Professional and helpful
February 9, 2017

Eden was very professional and helpful when I had a question about downloading pictures from the web, to get them back to my PC, since I had a new install. It was a couple of days before the answer but they said they were in the middle of a large amount of downloading, which I believe was new customers. I like MyHeritage's tree builder and appreciate their customer support.
