I love to watch HERITAGE.COM GROW! I've been with this genealogy program since the beginning and am always pleasantly surprised at all the new experiences it offers me with my genealogy. I usually make a daily drop-by to get some new information their researchers have found for me.
Keep receiving the same discoveries over and over. Many are connections that I have in my tree for a long time.
I have been part of the 'My Heritage' club for more than 8 years, and, with their 'discoveries' have made exciting inroads into my family history.
I find it disappointing when I write to the manager of a site and I never hear back. I also think it's silly when they put private when the person died 100 years go, which I have seen
Information regarding family tree.
Personally called to have an upgrade presented to me prior to my renewal date. Didn't pan out as expected and will not be renewing at that level in the future. Having issues with incorrect tree information being attached to my personal tree, and no sufficient help topics for removing the data. Confusing system inserting adoptions into a tree. Anticipated the touted upgrade to Newspapers would actually tap into a Newspapers.com type resource. Unfortunately full-time access to the Old News upgrade doesn't yield the data or areas I was able to obtain from other major websites on a temporary use basis. Additionally upgrades along with DNA tools don't pan out but send you off to 3d-party sites which give you a tool that reveals, but requires more money to move further into its special use.
MyHeritage is an very good product but that does not necessarily mean results will be obtained. Users don't always respond to queries about reported matches. Almost all the matches reported to me are not sufficiently close.
Just started to look into family tree.so im just learning.
It is easy to use, searching giving you hint that help to see if you have thr right connection
Love the consistency checker
But found most of connections have been other peoples trees rather than actual records
Foi uma experiência muito positiva, com descobertas de ramos da familia que nao esperava
I just love the MyHeritage site, ot seems like almost every day I learn something new about family who came before me, I've learned of my family members who arrived in Australia on the first and second convict fleets and my connection to people who played a role in the early development of Australia, i couldn't rate my experience any higher
I have had some success doing my genealogy through My Heritage.
After direct family was entered then using the discovering of add people i added family. After a number of years I now have over 3000 names
I was contacted by a rep by phone to renew my subscription, supposedly because it expired that day (in July) although when I checked it ran until August. I allowed him to renew what he said was my current plan with some added features, for the same price (I had had a really good 5-year deal but knew I couldn't expect that rate again). I specifically told him I wasn't interested in the Omni plan because I wouldn't use a lot of the features. When the receipt came, I found I was in the Omni plan! Not full price, but not what I wanted. I emailed and tried to chat and sent messages via the website (you can't phone any more) with no response. I started to set the plan to avoid it auto-renewing, and accepted their offer to renew next year at the lower price instead, but am still waiting for any customer service response on this, and certainly don't expect an apology for the initial deception and upselling.
I was surprised how much I have enjoyed the site. It is easy to use with super helpful suggestions! Great experience!
Unfortunately as seems to be the way with a lot of providers (and not just Family History research) it is all about "squeezing" even more in terms of subscription payments out of customers. My Heritage are no different - you pay what is a fairly hefty subscription and you are asked to pay EVEN MORE to access such as old newspapers. Frankly it is not justified and somewhat disappointing.
Very user friendly and a quick way to make connections and build your family tree.
I am impressed with their access to so much information, within a couple of months my "Tree" goes back to the 1500's already unbelievable. I like that they ask you to manage your own data. Access to photos, classified ad information and even headstone photos. I am really happy that I chose My Heritage.
Excellent information gathering service that allows us to complete our family tree quickly and reliably
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
