First, my call was answered after being put on hold for about a minute. Normally, I am on hold for a long time. I didn't know why some relatives had a DNA tab on their profile & some don't. I was told that the ones who don't have the DNA tab have an account. The rep I spoke with was very helpful.
I recently had the need to contact My Heritage to resolve issues I had in syncing with my site on the internet. Scratching my aged head trying to resolve it myself, I finally resorted to ringing for help and to my surprise this lovely Finnish voice answered and guided me through until all was fixed successfully. Many thanks Eve... go get a pay rise!
The person on the other hand was helpful, knowledgeable and extremely patient with me. I am totally technologically challenged and she stayed online and walked me through each step I needed to take on the computer to get the results I needed.
That said, I was very disappointed with the results. They seem to be too general for what I was looking for. 30.7 % North & West Europe and 24.1% South Europe does not tell me much.
Thought it would be fun to see the results-----which are about as accurate as a fortune cookie or fortune cookie. My sister and I have both done DNA reviews and they are so different it is funny. No, one of us was not adopted. My Grandparents on my Father's side both came from Italy and that was my next to lowest percentage ---4% my sister's percentage 45%. Save your money and just assume your own heritage based on how you feel that day and you will be as close as this service.
I had to call technical support and the representative was excellent! She resolved my issue and was great! Excellent customer service!
I lost in treebuilder a lot of data. Thankfull the nice lady of the helpdesk helped me out in my own language. All data returned.
Being a noobee in heritage the pace is a bit of a stumbling one. Didn't know if there was a helpdesk at MyHeritage. There was and a nice person responded, not in my native Danish but English is ok too. Free call and free service, that is included in the price for using the site as much as you want/physically can. It's good to have somebody to discuss these matters with. Like if a name is spelled a little different than another - is it the same family og a totally different family? The answer was that MyHeritage considers this private matters and don't interfere. The members must resolve this among themselves. Ok, but I found out anyway that in practise the system accepts 2 different spellings as the same in my case - one spelling with d was seen as the same as a spelling without the d. This could be seen as an error, but actually it forces the members to discuss this 'd' further among themselves. And that's ok.
MyHeritage offers absolutely the easiest way to find ancestors and compare your findings with other genealogists. However, one must be prepared to do an analysis of the results presented. This because far too many people simply accept the presented ancestors without judging the accuracy of the data,
I have had ups and downs with all Genealogy services, but have found My Heritage to be good. They are still working on the DNA side of things, but are doing well. They are a business, and want to make money (who doesn't!), so you may have to cough up some dollars occasionally (SURPRISE!) I really do think they are worth a try - the range of resources available is quite amazing, once you find them (look around - there is a lot there). Smart Matches, Discoveries, Photo Discoveries, and the like, are great. Much better than when I used to ride my bike up to the local Church Of Latter Day Saints to troll through the filing cabinets full of micro fiches... Don't expect everything to be done for you - you need to do some work too. BUT - they do have automatic recharge set on your CREDIT CARD as a default - MAKE SURE TO REMOVE IT UNLESS YOU ARE VERY SATISFIED WITH WHAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED.
With MyHeritage, you are never alone! Not only you are surrounded by thousands of your ancestors, but you are also surrounded by a team of devoted and competent supporters, if you encounter the slightest problem in the site! Thank you all and a special, big thank you to David, so helping, so empathetic, so competent.
I have been tracing my family history for more than 40 years and in that time have seen many software programs and web sites. Using the My Family software package in association with My Heritage has, in my opinion, been the best thing that has happened in terms of Genealogy. The back up support has been magnificent and I would highly recommend the program to any other professional or amateur Genealogists. Doug Hooper
I had worked for 1 1/2 week trying to get my subscription renew it took maybe 10 minutes for Aloen to help me. Thank you so much.
Didn't actually find the site the easiest to use but research engines etc do the job well. Was not happy that there was no reminder re fees due and because of this I was "in the red" with my bank!
On-line Help desk was prompt when needed and answered my problems.
DNA - well I'm not so sure but ancient ancestors did travel more than we thought, would love to have other relatives results for comparison

My problem was resolved in a short amount of time in a professional manner. However, I had to wait on the phone for more than a half hour listening to the same music over and over and over... why can't they hire more help?
My experience with heritage is from being so ticked off at Ancestry that I uploaded my tree of 6000++ to My heritage without remembering I had a small tree already on heritage from many years ago. Trying to merge the 2 gave me fits and put my larger tree in peril. Michal guided me through the scene, gave me some other tips. And I am quite happy. It seems Ohio and Tel Aviv... are not all that far apart... lol
Had to wait in queue a while but rather than music they gave updates of my place in line which helped. My rep spoke English well and helped me resolve my issue satisfactorily,
This is a total waste of time and money. Do yourself a favor and give your money to a competitor of this site. The founders, the "team", everyone involved are idiots and they are money hungry, ignorant disgraces to humankind.
I'd give MyHeritage a negative rating if I could. I'm taking myself and everyone in my family with me.
Peace out.

I ordered 2 kits, one for me and one for my wife. I was able to register mine OK but for some reason I was unable to register my wife's. Whoever took my call was extremely helpful and we resolved the issue in no time!
Answered my questions and helped me merge two trees together. Eve Birgitta Emilia
MyHeritage Support team member was fantastic. The MyHeritage tree and the Family Tree Builder site is very intimidating when first using it. So when I wanted to merge 472 names with my already large 3270 name site I almost went into a panic when some pictures and names seemed to be lost, but Eve helped me find the problem and straighten out the branch her guidance was fantastic. Thanks. Rex Alan S.
The Family Tree Builder works fine to display both biological and adoptive parents so my question was why I not get it to work when I published my tree to the web.
The answer I got was the web-version did not handle that function. I understand the answer, but believe the function must be useful for many more than me. So why not work on that function?
The response I got to my question was quick and polite so that works very fine.
Dear Bjorn,
Your feedback is appreciated. I'm unsure who you spoke with, but, I do know that the online version is compatible with showing biological and adoptive parents by all means. Perhaps you might be having a sync issue.
In any case, I would like to investigate the issue you report as soon as possible and help you with showing both biological and adoptive parents online. In order to do so, I'm going to need to locate your family tree.
Please e-mail me personally at [email protected] so I may look into this and help you as soon as possible.
I will be looking for your e-mail.
Happy to help
Rafael

Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.
Answer: Probbably you should like to know what are additional charges - described on MyHeritage site: Help Center > Account and Subscriptions > Subscriptions Whats the difference between a FAMILY SITE SUBSCRIPTION and a DATA SUBSCRIPTION? A Family Site Subscription (Premium or PremiumPlus) entitles you to increased storage on your family site for people in the family tree, photos, videos and documents. Answer: I believe a direct ancestor is someone without whom you would not be here. All your other ancestors are indirect.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.

Hi James,
I regret to find that you are unhappy with your ethnicity estimate.
There is actually a scientific reason for why a DNA ethnicity estimate will differ in between siblings and I would be happy to explain.
Each person receives 50% of his DNA from his/her mother, and 50% from his/her father.
The percentages of DNA a person receives from his ancestors are at the level of grandparents and further back (Great grandparents, etc.) Is not necessarily divided evenly in each generation.
Because the percentages of DNA a person receives from his ancestors at the level of second generation (grandparents) and further back is not necessarily divided evenly in each generation, it is possible that one great-grandparent may have passed on 3% of his/her DNA to his great-grandchild, while another great-grandparent may have passed on 11%.
This demonstrates why the probability of a person having only one pure ethnicity is very unlikely and why some siblings may inherit certain ethnicities, while other siblings may inherit the same ethnicity in another percentage, or even may not inherit this ethnicity at all.
Determining one’s ethnicity based on DNA is a relatively new field in genetics. Great advancements have been made in the past years, but there is much more to discover.
I can assure you that MyHeritage is on top of this and we will continue to work on improve our Ethnicity Estimate along with developing better tools based on your feedback, new scientific research and discoveries.
If you have any questions please write to my inbox at [email protected] from your registered e-mail address.
I am honestly on vacation at the moment but I have ensured that a collegue of mine will be waiting to help you.
Sincerely
Rafael
