My Mother is Metis and hundreds of generations traced back in North America all Native/ North European blood lines. Yet my results West Asian/European Iberian/Italian. NOTHING from North America.?
Fiquei satisfeita por resolver o problema que eu não conseguia identificar. Só um ponto negativo, a demora em identificar o problema aos meus questionamentos. Mas de forma geral estou muito satisfeita.
I was away when I learned my account had been automatically renewed for another year. I called as soon as I got home and was assisted by customer service representative Breck.
Breck was easy to talk to, listened to my concerns and within a few moments had given me the help I needed/called for. My account is now renewed for the year at a reasonable rate and the auto renewal option was removed.
Breck also gave me a detailed and very easy to grasp explanation on how their DNA matching system works, which applies to the other sites I use, as well.
All in all, I am a very satisfied customer.
The wait was rather long, but my concerns were adaquently solved Thank you very much for your assistance..
I have a problem in display of all my family events. Some of them didn't appear in the event's board. I've got useful and fast solution.
I could not Promote a person as a Site Manager on my IPad, which he walked me through on the computer instead. I also seemed to have a detached leg in the family tree due to adoption issues which he navigated me through. He had the patience of Job! Thank you Itia. Donna 8/113/17
With the website MyHeritage I am cooperating with Jan 2009. I want to Express my gratitude to thank the Support Team at MyHeritage. Over all there were no unanswered letters! Assistance is lightning fast, problems are solved constructively. That is very nice - considering my years of participation in the project in connection with which I there are discounted subscription offers and bonuses! It is very important and whether that communication takes place in my native Russian language!
Huge thanks and respect Mache - very prompt professional coordinator for solving my questions in July 2017!
Such support and attitude towards customers is rare and I'm glad my family tree I decided to build this in MyHeritage!
I'm not sure this company uses accurate algorithms. My ethnicity results did not fit at all with the family history that I have. I am English, with Irish, Scottish and Romany Gypsy ancestry. My results showed 66% North Western European, 32% English, 0% Irish/Scottish 0%Eastern European. In other words a very narrow ethnic range. Now one interesting thing is that a few of the people I have been DNA matched with have no ethnicities in common with me. How can there be a match with no shared ethnicities? Another interesting thing is that some of my main matches have a really high percentage Irish (mine is 0%). I would expect a match with Irish ethnicities as my grandfather was Of Irish parentage but apparently I have no Irish. Surely I should at least have a small percentage even with the random nature of genetics and the type of DNA matches I have been given. Another unusual DNA match I have been given is with someone with Eastern European ethnicity ( we have no ethnicities in common). Now given my family history, this match links in with the Romany Gypsy side but apparently I have 0% Eastern European. If I could afford it, I would test with another company to compare results or challenge My Heritage with a blind sample so they cannot guess at results based on surname, where you live etc. Reading the reviews it does seem that some other customers have tested with other companies and got quite different results!
Dear Anita,
It is understandable to be curious why your ethnicity estimate results may differ with the family history you have so far researched.
I haven't located your account and viewed any specifics of your results but from what I understand you have researched your family to be English, Irish, Scottish and Romany Gypsy and your results show 66% North Western European, 32% English.
As you may know, MyHeritage gives you an estimate of your ethnicity, meaning that the results might be influenced by migration patterns and may not entirely represent your actual origins.
It is true to consider the fact that over the last thousand years, people in Europe moved around frequently and often mixed with people from neighboring regions. Over time, the official borders changed and so did the population. Because science currently finds DNA to be very similar between people in neighboring countries, such as North Western Europe and England, where there isn't sufficient statistical difference, the ethnicity estimate is retained on a higher regional level.
It is also very important to know that percentages of DNA a person inherits is not necessarily divided evenly in each generation.
Factually, each person receives 50% of his DNA from his/her mother, and 50% from his/her father.
Because the percentages of DNA a person receives from his ancestors at the level of second generation (grandparents) and further back is not necessarily divided evenly in each generation, it is possible that one great-grandparent may have passed on 3% of his/her DNA to his great-grandchild, while another great-grandparent may have passed on 11%.
This demonstrates why the probability of a person having only one pure ethnicity is very unlikely and why some siblings may inherit certain ethnicities, while other siblings may inherit the same ethnicity in another percentage, or even may not inherit this ethnicity at all.
Determining one’s ethnicity based on DNA is a relatively new field in genetics. Great advancements have been made in the past years, but there is much more to discover.
I can assure you that MyHeritage is on top of this and we will continue to work on improve our Ethnicity Estimate along with developing better tools based on your feedback, new scientific research and discoveries.
Please write to my inbox if you would like more information about your results at [email protected]. I would be happy to help.

This is the biggest let down and rip off since the pet rock.
I was expecting at least a piece of paper showing some places I might find
In my back ground. WRONG! This place sends you an email that is so 'general"
You could be related to Lincoln or Moses.
Hi Charles,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble researching your family and I would be happy to help you. I don't exactly understand which e-mail you received but I can assure you that MyHeritage offers more than just an e-mail to research your family.
Here are some of the best ways you may research your family history using MyHeritage.
One way would be to search your family names using our specialized genealogy search engine, SuperSearch, can be found at this URL:
Copy this URL into your browser while logged in if would like to learn more about SuperSearch:

Another way to research your family would be to simply build a family tree at MyHeritage and get Record Matches. Record Matches searches behind the scenes for records from SuperSearch that match the names in your tree and notifies you when it finds a match. Record Matching is automatic for anyone with a family tree on a MyHeritage family site.

If you already have your family tree at MyHeritage, take advantage of Smart Matches. This unique feature compares your family tree to the millions of other family trees on MyHeritage.com and discovers family trees that match (overlap) your tree. This feature can be found in the site under the ‘Smart Matches’ section that can be reached by clicking on the Family Tree tab and selecting the ‘Smart Matches’ option, or in the Family Tree Builder software.
Copy this URL into your browser while logged in and learn more about the Smart Matches option:

And finally you can also even test your DNA with MyHeritage and get a comprehensive Ethnicity Estimate to discover your ethnic origins, and obtain DNA Matches to find relatives with whom you share DNA.

I wish I could give zero stars. I have done three different DNA tests, and the results from MyHeritage DNA were absurdly off base. The other two results were in agreement.
Hi Londe,
I regret to find you are unhappy with your ethnicity estimate and read your review.
I understand that that in comparison with DNA tests you took with different companies and you find that your ethnicity estimate results differ between the providers.
To estimate your ancestral ethnicity, MyHeritage compares your DNA with the DNA of people around the globe, whose genetic ethnicity is known. Currently our genetic models are based on 42 ethnic groups around the world. But this will improve thanks to our Founder Population project.
It is true that different researchers and different providers, analyzing the same DNA of a person, can come up with different estimates because the reference populations vary between every company. Another factor is how every company develops its own algorithm, which can result in a diverse ethnicity estimate.
Nonetheless, your feedback is very essential to enhancing our service and research tools. Therefore, I would like to learn more about your ethnicity estimate and experience using MyHeritage but, in order to do so, I'm going to need to locate your account with us.
Please send me and e-mail from your registered e-mail address to my inbox at [email protected] so I can help you as soon as possible.
I will be looking for your e-mail.

I have contacted My Heritage due to problems with my parcel delivery and they have been really helpful from the start and trying to do the best from their perspective even though it's a problem with the delivery company.
I had an issue uploading my data, and received quick and helpful customer service. They fixed the problem right away and walked me through it step-by-step.
For someone as technically challenged as myself I must give a big thank-you to Melody from the Support Team for her patience in sorting out my issues. My Heritage take a bow.
My DNA kit was a total joke, different from 23andme and Gedmatch. My family is colonial America on the Mayflower, Spanish, Native American, British/ Irish and French Canadian. My results are totally different from 23andme and GED match. Usually get DNA from North Africa or Israel/area near there or East Asia. Instead got Scandinavian 45.1%. On myhertitage and 1.9% 23andme, and GEDmatch has Fennoscandian 15.9%. Dark hair, hazel eyes, short/small, no back hair, big lips, and high check bones, not a description of a Scandinavian.
If any "My Heritage" customers have problems with this website, you will be very
Blessed if you are fortunate to get a lovely lady on the other end of the line named
Stefani, who works out of Israel. Stefani was the most pleasant, patient and thorough
Agent I have ever been exposed to with any product. In addition to My Heritage
Problem, I also had a brand new computer interfering with our discussions and she
Was very patient while i attempted to work out those issues which on several
Occasions interupted our discussions to the point that she had to call me back
Several times, and each time she never changed from her charming self and pressed on with the work required in the most pleasant manner. I cant thank you
Enough and for My Heritage for employing such an adept individual.
I had a unique family family circumstance I needed assistance with. I was fortunate enough to have Breck answer my call. Breck couldn't have been more helpful and more resourceful. I'm extremely impressed with the family research I've been able to do. I've got a significant amount of my family tree in place and with Breck's help and encouragement today I'll be a MyHeritage member for years to come. -thank you Breck!
I had 4 questions, what means 4 soft ware problems. Yoel of the support team gave me by mail some advise. When this wasn't enough, he went through all of them during a 75 minute Team-viewer session. Very efficiently, very patient, very pedagogic. Thanks a lot.

I decided instead of trying to argue with computer prompts and hash tags, I wanted to talk to a person, a live flesh and blood oxygen breathing one!
Hooray! I found one! Alon of the MyHeritage Support team came on the line after only a 15 min delay and sorted out my problem in easy steps, guiding me in the most accommodating and simplistic way to retrieve the lost ged.com file! Words can never express my gratitude to the team. Especially Alon. Thanks a million. James Anderson, East London, South Africa.
Eden hat mir über TeamView sehr gut geholfen und einen zum zweiten Mal aufgetretenen Synchronisierungsfehler "Fehler 11" beseitigt.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
