My Dna test were lost in the mail and they replaced them and send another one in less than 2 days. Their service is very good and people are very nice. I can't wait to know the results! So far its a 5/5
I had a basic subscription, and suddenly got an email saying I'd be automatically renewed at annual rate of $159.20! I searched all over their web site - and there was no link to cancel a subscription. I called their support number - and was told they were out for lunch! I called back an hour later and finally reached someone who said they'd cancel my account.

No reviews match "My advice, do not give this company you DNA. I was born in Iceland and I sent this company my DNA and it came back that I was 62% British. According to this company I'm 0% Icelandic, even though I was born there and so were both of my parents. I told them this was impossible which is supported by the fact that I have no British relatives. I have nothing against the Brits, but the fact that for centuries people in Iceland could not even leave their county without permission. Let alone could hardly anyone leave Iceland itself. I sent Heritage.com the fiber of my existence and got nothing in return. I also wanted to find out who my great grandfather's father was through DNA, since that has never been relieved and no one knows. Instead I get sent info of the same known records of the same relatives over and over again. This company is a total fraud. They only want you DNA. What I should really do is sue them. I wish I could give them zero star, so take my one star here as a no star.".

If I understand you correctly, you were discouraged with a large amount of British DNA in your estimate while you Indeed know that you were born in Iceland.
It is true to consider that people in the British Isles have been in contact with Iceland for centuries. Indeed there is some archaeological evidence of a monastic settlement from the British Isles at Kverkarhellir cave, on the Seljaland farm in southern Iceland.
Another important factor to consider is how DNA is found to be very similar between people in neighboring regions. Where there isn't sufficient statistical difference, we keep the Ethnicity Estimate on a higher regional level. Even when there is a statistical difference between ethnicities, it is true for the population's average. Your DNA will always be slightly different than the average population and therefore may show a small or a significant part of neighboring ethnicities.
All in all, your feedback and overall satisfaction is always important to us as we are invariably looking to better our genealogy experience for the millions of members that use our research tools and purchase DNA kits.

My experience with My Heritage was brought about by a school project for my daughter who is in the eleventh grade. We worked together and were able to find way more information than anyone else in her class. It was exciting to trace back through the records our ancestors. It's very simple to use and they offer search results that don't have to be exact matches which is important because some names are misspelled by the people doing the census. I would recommend this to anyone that is interested in tracing their roots.
I have requested several times that MyHeritage delete my account, but they won't do it. (They won't let you do it on their website, but make you email them instead.) I am seriously considering filing a consumer complaint with my state over this issue. The site did not produce useful connections for me, so I want to leave it forever, but they don't seem to allow that. Do not sign up for this service unless you want your information out there forever.

I have just spent approx 20 minutes speaking to Aaron from the My Heritage Support Team and I am most impressed with the assistance I was provided by him. Aaron was patient, helpful and went into great detail to explain things clearly to me which I really appreciated. Aaron has also now emailed me detailed instructions to assist me with some family trees I wish to merge/delete. I am really grateful for the assistance I was provided by Aaron - thank you.
My Maternal Grandfather immigrated from Italy. My results say 0% Italian. I guess Blood is different than DNA.
The results were provided quickly.

In my experience, what I have noticed is people within neighboring countries within Europe have common DNA. For instance, there is a noticeable genetic difference between Northern Italians and Southern Italians, with northerners being close to the French population, and southerners overlapping with both Balkan and other southern European populations.

I think MyHeritage is a complete and comprehensive tool for having good control of your data. I really like a lot of the excellent possibilities of matching persons from your own family tree. Also when I want to add photos, web pages and nice prints of people. The PedigreeMap is interesting and so are are many opportunities to check for duplicates, incorrect dates etc. MyHeritage is outstanding
I had deleted a bunch of pictures from my web site to create more space. For some reason when I deleted the pictures the system did not update space allocation. I submitted a help desk ticket. The technical staff reviewed my issue and upped my storage allocation where it should of been. Excellent Service!

Da jeg endelig fandt ud af hvordan jeg kom frem til jer var servicen OK.
I starten synes jeg, at det var lidt svært at finde rundt i MyHeritage, men efterhånden som jeg har lært systemerne at kende og hvordan man kan løse problemerne ved forskellige indgange, er det rimelig let. Jeg mangler nok en eller anden form for oversigt, men det er måske bare mig der ikke har fundet den endnu. Med omkring 20.000 navne er der også meget at holde styr på.
Vi havde den bedste oplevelse med den danske supporter, vi talte med i dag.
Den 13. 9. 2017 bad vi om at få My heritage til at kontakte os med en dansk support og allerede dagen efter var der en yderst dygtig supporter i telefonen, som kunne svare på de spørgsmål vi havde til vores abonnement
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
