They sent me an email of a $100 charge at 8:05 pm & I called within 1 1/2 hours to cancel & they refused. A total scam job... calling the state's attorney tomorrow.
Absolute garbage. Downright fraud. Their system is designed to accept a fax then fail part way through, so the machine on the other end automatically retries forever. When they hit excess fees of $30 or so they shut it down. What a scam.
I was a client of mymetrofax (this is the same company) for years, paying the monthly fee, so there are no reasons for them to screw up the faxes. Never, not once, was there an error in transmission. But when I'm on a trial that can add extra fees, suddenly it fails endlessly until I'm 300 pages over the limit.

Do not use! This is a fraudulent company with a scam idea. I signed up to use it for the $10 a month charge, I was charged $30 within four days. When I questioned it they said it was for over usage for the month. They then explained that the charges are not as they seem, you are charged for one fax for every second it takes to submit a fax. So if it takes 10 seconds to submit a fax you were charge for 10 pages. That is not in the fine print I could not find that anywhere. I cancel my subscription immediately and I am making a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Almost all these apps online are fraudulent. Did it work? Yes it did But the scam of pricing is unethical and it would've cost me hundreds of dollars. I will just call in my prescriptions from now on

A typical fax will take between 30-60 seconds per page to transmit. We allow up to 60 seconds per page for transmission time (1 page = 60 seconds) when scanned in our recommended format of black and white at 200 DPI (dots per inch) resolution. We do suggest not to scan in color or gray-scale as the faxes will not be delivered in this format and it will simply increase the chances of line interruption. Before I realized it, they charged me over $700 in the first six weeks- I faxed about 130 pages. Their explanation was that I was stupid that I didn't understand their pricing model. I also learned- and they never told me this- that they charged me for additional pages if the fax takes longer to send. They took advantage of their pretend introductory offer - since I don't always check my checking account each month. Unethical, dirty, corrupt company.

It is clearly expressed in our terms of service under "service usage" that all sent faxes are billed by page or duration whichever is greater. Most fax pages take less than 60 seconds to transmit when scanned in the recommended format of black and white at 200 DPI (DOTS PER INCH). We never recommend to scan in color or gray-scale as all faxes are sent in B&W only and this will dramatically increase duration time and risk line interruption. Pay online but wait forever on phone to cancel. Avoid MyFAX at all costs! The system works ok but there are alternatives that are better.

"Customer Service,
Amazingly awful! You have outdone your own bad service!
Your fax services has been especially pitiful for past several months now and continue to be near non-existent into September; your services recently have been more especially awful than your normally bad and unreliable fax service.
You have repeatedly embarrassed me with clients and colleagues and cost me time and money as many persons trying to fax me have called me or emailed me repeatedly asking for a working fax number.
I have repeatedly received partial faxes from your service.
What a waste of time and money!
How frustrating!
How unprofessional!
You have not provided the services that I have contracted with you to receive and which I have paid in good faith.
Accordingly, I demand a return of the full amounts you charged me for June 25,2019 (USD $10), July 25,2019 (USD $10) and August 25,2019 (USD $10) for a total of USD $30.
I demand that you return return USD $30 to the credit card that you have been charging; alternatively, if that is too challenging for your high-tech company then just send me a cheque.

For my 30-day "free" trial I was charged about $11.00 for three or four unsuccessful ten- page fax attempts to an outside number, as well as one "successful" attempt sent to: and from: the MyFax fax number assigned to my new account (for myself--to keep a copy). The "successful" ten page fax to and from www.MyFax.com's own servers apparently took 2800 seconds, or approx. 45 minutes to transmit.
It turns out that "seconds" are the units with which www.MyFax.com meters and bills fax "pages", and not "pages". Was it careless of me to assume that 100 free pages sent/200 free received--as clearly stated in the www.MyFax.com 30-day Free Trial Offer--actually referred to the number of fax pages sent and received? And failed faxes? ~CHA CHING~
Maybe www.MyFax.com has already changed its unit of measurement. Perhaps the company now prints and weighs all fax files, with "one page" converted into an ounce. An ounce is a page. 16 pages are a pound. How many pages make a stone?
Maybe www.MyFax.com has gotten more precise and have gone metric, measuring the mass of the fax page rather than the weight (just in case someone gets cute with "gravity".) "Generally implied understanding"? HAAA! Just hide any distortions/redefinitions/misrepresentations in the veryvery fine print of your User Agreement, and NOT on your webpage splash screen...

We do advise in our terms of service prior to signup that most fax pages take less 60 seconds to transmit (average transmission time is 30 seconds per page). When the time exceeds 60-second increments of transmission, whether or not the transmission occurs or is completed (such as instances when someone answers the call or transmission is interrupted before completion) then the page is calculated at 2 pages. We do recommended that all fax documents are scanned in Black and White at 200 DPI resolution as opposed to color or grayscale to reduce transmission time and risk possible line interruption. I signed up for a free trial on Aug. 10th just to be sure this service would work for my business. I signed up for the 100 pages outgoing and 200 pages incoming for $10 per month. I sent one fax that included a total of 50 pages. The fax went through successfully. I tried sending another fax a few days later with a total of 4 pages that did not go through successfully. I was charged $10 on Aug. 23rd and another $10 on Aug. 26th. When I called to inquire about the charges since I was not due to be charged until Sept 9, I was told that I had exceeded my pages and that it was a total of 121 pages actually sent since it does not go according to actual pages but how long it takes to send the pages. Once it was explained to me, I agreed to pay the overage which would have only been $2.10 since its. 10 cents per additional page. I was informed by 2 different reps that they would escallate my request for only a $10 refund however they are not sure it will be approved. So beware! I sent a total of 50 pages and was charged $20. If I'm lucky, I will get a $10 refund but reading the previous reviews, probably not likely.

30-day free trial is advertised as 100 outgoing pages and 200 incoming pages. I called in to inquire about a $10 charge to my bank account 11 days into my trial and was told I went over the limit (I sent 50 pages MAX... HALF of the allotted amount). When I brought this to their attention I was told all of my one paged faxes were considered as two because they took more than 60 seconds to go through 63-64 seconds...(how is that my issue?... seems like a convenient processing time). I was told it may have been what I was sending. I told them every single page had HALF a page of writing on standard blank computer paper and was told "because we just closed your account we cant look into it"... EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE business. The supervisor was of no use and sounded as though he read off a script because they get this so often. I will be disputing with my bank and calling in daily until it is rectified properly.

I tried to use their service free, but first fax didn't go thru successfully. I called the fax number and got a fax beep on the first ring, so know it wasn't the fax number. I called the company and ended up emailing them instead.
Now, trying to cancel my free 30-day trial. Found the policy buried in Help subjects. Have to call their *******212 number in Los Angeles. It took 15 minutes to get thru to a representative who offered me a lower $5 rate. He was very nice, but people! Make it available online.

There was a time period that I just did not get faxes and now half the time it wont let me log in even though I have the correct password, it keeps making me reset it and still will not let me in. It was suppose to make life easier not worse!

I took a free trial back in the Spring, sent one or two faxes. I cancelled immediately by e-mail, but kept getting billed. NOTE: you canNOT cancel by email, or by logging into your account and cancelling there. Apparently, the returned my email with one telling me to call, must have gone into my promotions/junk box that I didn't check. When I finally realized this, I tried to call and was put on hold. I didn't have the time to wait, and must have forgotten to call back. Apparently, you can cancel on Live Chat too, but you even have to wait there for a rep. I finally waited it out and got it cancelled. Those 2 or 3 faxes must have cost me $50 or $60, most expensive faxes ever.
I signed up, used it once and it was slow and awful. Found a different one that was free. Forgot to cancel until the day after the bill. Wouldn't refund my money but offered me another free month starting after the month I paid. Then tried to sell it to me for only $5. Then tried to sell some other service to me.
I attempted to cancel Myfax via chat with Chris. After efforts to keep me enrolled, the representative stated that "please wait until I complete the cancellation process." After about 15 minutes or so the chat became disconnected. Later I called and talk to a human and received a cancellation number. I may still receive a bill. I called my credit car to stop payments as well. Will update my report if a get a new bill. Can't recommend this business... sad because I thought I might renew in a few months when I will be needing fax services again.
I called and canceled this service right after the trial started. I was told everything was taken care of and they even sent a survey after my call. Now, three weeks later they billed me for the service and are forcing me to jump though all the hoops again to cancel. This is a terrible business practice to make it so hard to cancel so they can bill you and then force you to go back after a refund. I strongly recommend that people stay away fro this service unless they want to get into a quagmire.
I used this service to fax a few documents to my doctor's office. The doctor's office never received the fax. So that wasn't good. Then, when I called to cancel before the trial ended, the South Asian gentleman who handled my call was relentless in trying to persuade me to upgrade, then to stay on for a discounted service, then to purchase other products I might like before he finally let me be and canceled my subscription. Appalling experience.
I signed up a couple of months ago because I thought I would need services. I could've sworn I went and cancelled it as soon as I realized I wouldn't even need it, apparently I didn't actually do that. I got a $10 charge today and completely forgot I ever signed up for a free trial for it. Naturally, I called customer service and it took so long just to talk to someone. Once I was finally connected, I could not for the life of me understand this man talking so slowly, yet mumbly, over the phone. Mind you, I NEVER used the services and didn't have any record of my number for my account due to this. He took forever just to find my account after giving him my email approximately 5 times because he couldn't understand what I was saying (I'm speaking very loud and clearly). Finally, he took his sweet time in cancelling my account and said he'd put in a refund request, but it's out of his hands and it's up to the finance department to decide on that. Yeah, I know what that means. Aka, I'm not getting a refund and you already know it. I'm just glad it's onlt $10 and I can just move on with my life and not go through another 25 minutes phone call just to cancel my account. What a scam.
Two weeks ago I was interested in canceling my free account (no longer needed) and saw the only option to do so was by phone. After reading these reviews, I put it off for as long as possible. I logged onto their website today and they have added an online chat option to cancel the account. I was helped by Chris I who was very friendly and offered to extend the free service to keep my business, but unfortunately I have no need for the account.

I signed up to the free trial because I have to send a fax to someone. It was not easy to use and I finally abandoned it. But I totally forgot to cancel the service. I received the monthly charge after the free month, but I didn't notice until 4 days pass the new month. I called to complain about the charge and want to cancel service since I did not use the service and was not happy with it anyway, they refuse to refund my charge! I said I will pay for the 4 day pro-rated charge, but they won't do it. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

Answer: It is a scam service, they will not fix your problem, cancel and call your bank for a charge back. They are offering a service they do not provide.
Answer: Because they can. I am sorry if that sounds flippant, but it is the truth and there is no other logical reason for it. Please note that they don't charge by the page, but rather by the minute and they purposely use a very small bandwidth to send pages.
