I used MyFax specifically because they could port an existing fax number, alleviating the need to print new business cards. Unfortunately, instead of porting my fax numbers according to the contract I had with them, they ported my main number which effectively closed my account with Verizon, closing my internet service. I am in the 11th day of trying to get my service back again via Verizon, leaving my and my business without internet and I lost my email accounts. When I tried to tell MyFax, they never could explain the situation and were clueless and rude. Terrible business.
I signed up for their free 30 day trial but the service was very unreliable. I never used their service to send even one fax. I called to cancel but was put on hold for over 10 minutes with no idea when I would reach a live person. So I sent an email canceling, but was billed 30 days later. I tried calling again, spent another 10-15 minutes on hold so I sent another email disputing the bill. Their response was, Please note that, we could not find any previous cancellation request over the phone from you when we searched for it in our database. As per our company policy, we can not cancel an account without such a cancellation request. Hence, as we did not have the cancellation request from you, we did not cancel it and it remained active."" In short you can't reach anyone via phone, but you can't cancel without reaching someone via phone.
They rip you off every chance they get and don't have a conscience about doing it. They have the ability to set limits on the number of pages, but if they do that they can't continually charge your card multiple times per day. This is the most unethical business I have ever encountered. If I was going over the limit for my $10 plan, then stop me when I get to the limit. Every other business in the world does this. Or at least have the guts to notify me and let me decided if I want to up my plan or quit. The higher plan would have been ultimately cheaper for me and would have shown some integrity with the company, but instead they chose to screw me and keep it a secret, then they get to make it hard as hell to talk to anyone. But even when you do, it's clear the people they hire are people who can't get jobs anywhere else. If you have to run a company on manipulation and deception, then how good can the company really be?
Extremely poor customer service. I was on the line with them for 30 minutes to cancel my subscription. The person on the other end couldn't understand English very well and was very slow. To add insult to injury, they had charged our account for 8 months after we cancelled and wouldn't have the decency to refund any of it.
DO NOT USE MY FAX. How is this company able to say "No Hidden Fees. No Contract. Cancel Anytime"? HIDDEN FEES is exactly what they do. See attached. 100 pages outbound can really be 50 or less depending on THEIR server. Shame on you. I was grandfathered in from before J2 bought it out, and somehow, they have no copy of my original account.

Up until recently, I would have given MyFax a 4 out of 5 rating, but their service, customer service and automated phone service has gone straight south over the past year. They must be really struggling. We've been customers for 7+ years with zero problems until recently. Now I can't access some features which I need daily, and it has rendered the service pretty useless. I've gotten no resolution to the problems despite multiple calls and emails, and it's time to cancel and move on. I was hoping to transfer the number to another provider, but MyFax won't release it. Good thing that's not a deal-breaker. Must be a sign that it's time to change that too. In any case, the company has fallen apart. Avoid them. RingCentral looks far more promising and costs less.
I am sorry if you have chosen this company as I did based upon a quick need to send a fax. Please read reviews from different sites - the website itself posts excellent customer reviews which I do not believe are accurate after reading reviews from other websites not connected with MyFax (e.g. Epinions). Unfortunately, this company is making money by being difficult to contact in order to cancel service after the 30 day trial. Make sure to retain the cancellation information provided when registering for MyFax, the credit card you registered with, and the phone number assigned. Also, the telephone prompts may indicate you have made a mistake when entering information. Continue to reenter information. When you finally get a customer service representative, he or she will begin a speech about not refunding any money in an attempt to divert one from the purpose of calling and also seem unable to follow directions very well - another ploy to distract from cancellation - very bad service - but don't be diverted by the poor customer service - insist on cancellation so that hopefully your credit card will not be charged again. It is best to use a completely free service which may include ads added to your fax one way or both ways to send an internet fax and pay per fax at Kinkos if an advertisement is not acceptable.
Do not reply to emails at support, promise to ring back but do not, when you ring their uk toll free number they answer the phone as efax. They say they will put you through to myfax and after a while of piped music the phone goes dead. Cut you off in the middle of chat or say they will put you on to a more suitable person and you wait indefinitely. Faxes never go. You always have to try and ring and find out why not. They say available 24/7 but the UK call centre closes at 5pm. When rang european number they said this was a uk address and sent me back to the UK websites. A bunch of crooks and villains.
They have refused to send proof of cancellation. I have tried a number of times to cancel my subscription, and they claim that my account is closed, but I still see a "next billing date" when I log in. I have been told that I will receive a notice of cancellation the day before I am due to be billed. Their "customer service" is unacceptable.
MYFAX- CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT will entitle us consumers who have all been wrongfully charged by this group to a refund and possible damages for their willful negligence and theft of our funds. Feel free to respond to this post if interested.
MYFAX has never been used for us as immediate request/cancellation was made within one hour of signing up, as we did not need this service. Our login does not work, however they continue to bill as request for cancellation this action has been made since NOV 2013, it is now May 2014.
Final request with demand for proper action has been placed, however the company still refuses.
Next step, CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.
I've had the same issue with the others... they will not cancel after many attempts. Not sure of the recourse we have but this is ridiculous and what a scam.

FAX SERVICE. OTHERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS MY RESEARCH INDICATED ON JABBER CONSUMER REVIEWS POSTINGS. THEIR SITE DOES NOT SUPPORT 24/7 SUPPORT AS CLAIMED AND CAN BARELY GET TO A PERSON TO HELP AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS. NOTHING BUT JUNK FAXES RECEIVED.

As many others have said, this company charges your credit card without any notification. Like others, my credit card was charged for three months after the so-called free trial. When I finally was notified about the charge, $30 and three months later, they refused a refund but said they would convert these monthly charges to a yearly plan. I reluctantly agreed. I used the service to send a few faxes, then not at all for many months. I just found out they charged me an annual renewal fee– again, after the fact, no prior notice of the impending charge. I called to cancel the service and have the charges reversed, but they claim it was in the contract (of course, you never actually see this contract) that the renewal fee would be charged in December, rather than January when the plan started, so no refund, even if I cancelled the service. They are unethical and disgusting.
Billing issues! Billing Issues! Still are billing me after I used a personal credit card for a business account... I havn't worked for the company in 8 months, and they are still billing me even though my card number has changed. They will NOT refund or even prorate the amount of money they have taken from me. The manager says he does not have the authority to authorize refunds of any kind and he does not and will not let me know who his supervisor is so I can further investigate. Hussain was his name. I emailed corporate 3-4 times with an automatic response that says i need to contact customer service. Customer service goes right to Hussain's rain of terror. Shame on myfax.com and their mgmt.
BEWARE! They do not honor cancellations after the trial period. I tried them out using their trial promotion, it didnt work well at all. I immediately cancelled as trying 12 times for one fax is not something I want to do. However, after canceling I didnt hear from them until months later when they sent me a bill for several months of service? I told them check the records that I canceled. They said not record of it was there and if I didnt pay up the monthly bill would continue to accumulate. Then said, if I wanted to cancel I could just pay the bill and they'd cancel BIGGEST CROOKS ONLINE! STAY AWAY!

Answer: It is a scam service, they will not fix your problem, cancel and call your bank for a charge back. They are offering a service they do not provide.
Answer: Because they can. I am sorry if that sounds flippant, but it is the truth and there is no other logical reason for it. Please note that they don't charge by the page, but rather by the minute and they purposely use a very small bandwidth to send pages.
