I am writing this to warn other pet owners: Rover.com's safety protocols and support are dangerously inadequate. I recently experienced a life-threatening incident where my small dog was found roaming loose in a neighborhood in below-freezing temperatures while under the care of a Rover sitter. I have video proof of my dog alone in the cold, yet the sitter denied the dog had even escaped. Furthermore, the sitter admitted in writing that she stopped walking the dogs for two days because she felt it was "too cold." The most disappointing part of this ordeal has been Rover's response. Despite providing timestamped video evidence and the sitter's own admissions of neglect, Rover's support team has been completely unresponsive. They failed to even review the attachments I provided and have ignored my suggestion that this sitter be removed from the platform to protect other animals. If you value your pet's safety, be aware that if something goes wrong, you may be left completely on your own. I am now forced to pursue this through small claims court and local media just to get a response. Avoid this platform if you want actual accountability for your pet's care.
