I have read and seen some of the reviews and I do not agree with most of them. I had the ATT Digital Life installed recently and I have had no issues with the system. The main control box is a little big, but they usually install it in a basement or closet out of the view (which is more secured then most stand alone keypad/control units which could be ripped off from the wall and destroyed and possibly will not sent a signal, ADT installs a separate big box as well). I had previously two different alarm system and I have to say this one is by far the best. The system activates much faster then any other alarms I've had, it works through internet and cell phone unit as backup. The app control works great and allows you to control your system using your phone. You can control the chime or brightness on your keypad using your phone app or web browser. So all the complaints that people had I do not agree with. The door sensors are smaller then any other ones I had and the system overall works great. One last thing, if you look at most of the reviews they are negative because the people who have no problems usually don't take time to post their reviews, only people who want to complaint, and I would have to say that most of the complaints are unfounded.
Oh gosh. I wish I read these reviews before I agreed to this service. I am appalled at how pathetic it is. The sound is ridiculous. It completely disables my dog as it is a high pitched beep. What burglar would be deterred? By the time I heard the sound I'd have heard the person in my house. Now my dog can't protect me because of the horrid pitch.
Totally ineffectual. I called them 5 minutes after this alarm was installed and it's a week later and not one thing has been resolved. I am super upset.
I typically never take the time to write reviews — too much effort, but wanted to share given how awful it's been. If limited to one word to describe ATT DIgital Life: Pathetic. Service is awful…long waits on hold. Nobody returns phone call. Sometimes they call all the numbers when an alarm goes off…sometimes they don't. Repeater has been offline at least 5 times in my house and they can never seem to fix it. Service reps don't arrive on time, and they don't call. Nobody seems to really care…it's as if they realize it's a horrible product & service and nothing ever gets fixed. My family will cancel the first day we're able, and we'll toss uVerse over the side as well given this horrible experience.
Still furious. Have not installed it, cannot get a hold of any reps to ask questions, placed on hold for@ 30 minutes before anybody came on, only to find out that all our info is incorrect and informed me they couldn't do anything since I couldn't guess the ss# the store rep used on our account wth!
I absolutely agree with one of the reviewer. AT&T was not been truthful nor upfront. They sold the product to us and I was told that I will be absolutely free to install and no fees even when we cancel. On the testing period ( within the 24 hour period) we discovered that the panel was not loud enough when door or window opened. I call AT& T right away and notified them with the concern. I was told that a lot of customers had been complaining about it so they are working on it. I told them that we should have been told up front. Now, that I am having the equipment uninstalled, they said we have to pay the restocking fee for $99 dollars. How about I charge them with my inconvenience fees and to patched the holes they created on my walls? Should not charge customers when it is the company's equipment failure.
I was never able to log into the Profile portion of the system. The initial order was incorrect and someone in the Corporate office had additional equipment brought in during the installation. Cameras were not ordered as requested and I am happy they were not. Now I have been back and forth with the Executive Offices to correct the problem, where are they getting these people who work in the offices. The bottom line I should have stayed in ADT and I am going to try to go back to them. I have had it with these people. DO NOT GET DIGITALIFE IT IS HORRIBLE. I REGRET THE DAY I SIGNED ON.
This is good system or not we didn't know yet because I have to cancel after installed 2 days. First problem I have that is ATT retail store lie to us about promotion through where my work, second ATT digital life lie about 30 days trail free, We're told that but when we call them to cancel and uninstall they will charge you $99 for restocking fee, that is none sense because if you not install how do you try out the system? Now I lost $150 for not thing, oh I do got couple hole on my wall. Thanks to ATT and never trust you again.
Had my system for 6 months and not really anything good to say. Live feed VERY slow and 2 1/2 weeks ago lost feed and can't get a answer from anyone at ATT. Supervisors won't return calls and NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. Buy elsewhere and be happy
Digital Life hasn't even been around for an entire year yet so how can someone lie and say they lock you in for years? At&t really impressed my husband and I with this new home security. It's affordable and highly innovative. All the others lie and try to get more money thean they state. I love my system especially the cameras
Disagree with the first review here, it's just wrong. I did a lot of research, and bought the ATT Digital Life service.
The ATT system comes with a several-day battery - cutting the power specifically sends out an alarm. Over ATT cell service, of course. Further, if one checks any review, and I checked many, the ATT service is much better rated than the ADT service. And why wouldn't one want a service that can be monitored and controlled from smartphone, iPad, or web browser.
[April 2015 edit - now, a year in, I'm still more than satisfied with the ATT Digital Life system. I've added a couple of dimmer switches and the garage sensor and opener, and added programs with increased sophistication as ATT upgraded the options. Always an instant response when I call with a question, and a call to check what's up in less than a minute when one of my family sets off the alarm, which has been rare.]
Do not waste your time buying AT&T Digital life home security. It is overpriced for what you get and they will lock you in for years. The equipment is not very good as compared to other similar forms of security offered by ADT and others. Here is the problem, they claim they are better because you can use any internet provider but you do not want home security based soley off the internet. An intruder who cuts your power can easily enter your home or if there is a storm and and you lose internet connection your home security will go down. Get a system that can uses a cell signal (surprising that AT&T doesn't offer this) that can trigger your home security system. ADT offers this currently but they also charge you a little bit more. The other thing AT&T doesn't have is brand recognition by the theives themselves. When a thief sees an ADT sign they recognize that as home security. I doubt an AT&T Digital Life sign is going to scare any of them off.
Answer: Let me know if you find an attorney that would like to take this Class Action. I would gladly jump on board because of the way this company treats people and by not living up to their product and contractual agreements.
