Their "maintenance" department is non-responsive and does nothing to resolve any real issues that may arise. I have lived in my home for almost a year now. In that time, I was without hot water (water heater broken), and flooding my garage for over 6 weeks. There was also issues with the well pouring out orange and sand filled water through my pipes, this took over a month to resolve. Now my AC has been out for days and their maintenance department has yet to send a vendor to investigate or resolve. I have explained that I have 2 small children living in the home, and that the temperature reached 96 degrees, and they still have failed to send anyone to look at it. When calling their maintenance department, I have requested to speak with a supervisor and have been outright denied, and disconnected while being placed on long holds. They fail to provide a home that is in livable condition, and they do not care.
If I can choose no stars I would. Do not use this company. They will give you the run around when it comes to sending you your deposit back. I wish I would've read the reviews before choosing them for rental. I received a letter in January (to my forwarding address) stating how much the check was for then in March when I haven't received my check and of course the excuse was they didn't receive a forwarding address. I provided my vacate letter with this information within the 30 days' notice as well as uploaded the letter in the portal. I have repeatedly called to get a status, same response a check is getting sent out to you, you should receive it within 15 days and turn around and ask me for my forwarding address at every call. Kennesha Williams supposedly the one requesting for a check to be sent out. I am going on 4 months of not receiving my check. I am sure if I took months to pay my rent, they would quickly evict me. I also had Maintenace issues and charges of HOA fees that were to the owner charged to my account. Just an overall horrible expressing I mean down to the house not being cleaned prior to move in.

I've been getting fined 25$ for things that's not true. They've charged me for landscaping, a shed, and now about a trampoline that they said isn't placed correctly in my yard. I've sent several pictures and other proofs to them but they continue to ignore me and add money to my ledger. They tell me to call the HOA to speak with them. They never show me proof of the charges they say HOA is sending them and I spoke with the HOA lady and she denied it. They sent me something on the 18 of May saying I had a shed and something else on the side of the road and it's not true. I had a couch on the side of the road the first part of May and the City of Charlotte has a confirmation number proving it's been gone.

Looked at one of the properties, maybe 3 weeks ago. I had forgot about the house, then they started calling me about going forward with the application process, they were eager to get someone in the property. So on Thursday morning at 7am, I submitted my application. By 1pm. They denied my application. I have no bankruptcy, evictions, and my credit score is in the high 500s. I asked why was I denied, all Mike could tell me, it was other factors. I getting me an attorney this company is bogus. They needed that money. We applied and 2 days later they told us that someone else got the home before we did, but the home is still listed as currently available. So they're just going to accept all the application fees while they drag their heels to take the house of their site. It's fraud.

Save your sanity, these people are pure scammers. They collect your app fee and then proceed to run you through a million hurdles to provide info you've given already. Customer service is non existent. Online systems do not work. You cannot even email any doc directly to them. They refuse to put you to a supervisor when requested.

I don't recommend this company to anyone, I recently sent this property management company my government orders to report to Missouri for basic training 5 weeks prior to my leave date for lease termination without penalty. I was told that it would take 2 weeks for approval. However, its nearly 30 days later and I have yet to receive approval. The property manager also told me, until they approve me of early termination, I am responsible and liable for the fulfillment of the lease regardless of my orders and documentation. Under the Service-members Civil Relief Act (SCRA) this is completely illegal and unacceptable. I never knew its was so hard to get out of a lease to go and fight for this country and the freedom of the citizens. By their actions, it shows me that they display very little support for the United States military and that does not sit well with me at all.

Renters please use caution renting from this company! I signed my lease and was scheduled to move into my home on 04/19/2022. I received the keys and entered the property, upon entering the property I found that there was no hot water, furnace was inoperable so I had no heat or air. There were animals (squirrels or rats) running around in the roof and the kitchen and bathroom sinks were not draining so I had standing water. Needless to say I DID NOT MOVE ANYTHING IN. Immediately filled out a maintenance request (not sure why this wasn't fixed PRIOR to me moving in) and of course it takes up to 48 hours for someone to respond and then another 2 to 3 days for someone to come "fix" it. Fast forward to Wednesday 04/27/2022 (a week later), the 1st maintenance request being serviced a FULL week later only for the bathroom sink to still be stopped up. The next day 04/28/2022 someone finally came to "fix" the furnace and still don't have air conditioning because they said they need a specialist to fix it. The heat did work and I used it as temperatures dropped to low 40's, however there was a gas smell in the air. I called the gas company and they came out and immediately shut off the gas, stating that there were multiple gas leaks in the line and someone would need to fix them prior to them cutting back on the gas. So now back to no hot water, no heat and air. Main Street Renewal said they would put in an urgent request for someone to come out as soon as possible. It is 04/30/2022 at 1:31pm still nothing! It's only been a week and a half of renting from Main Street renewal I am furious! Had I known that they were this incompetent, I would have NEVER rented this home. These issues should not be my responsibility as they should have already been maintained prior to me moving in. I want my money back and a new home! I am calling codes and inspections Monday morning.

Moved in Sept 2021. House had been remodeled and looked good at first site. First load of clothes we washed flooded the laundry room and adjoining bedroom. Ruining all shoes and other items on the floor. We thought it was our washer. Paid the service fee only to find out the drain hose in the wall wasn't connected. When the washer drained the water went right onto the floor. Took 2 weeks for MSR to fix.
First load in dryer, noticed it was unusually hot in laundry room. After investigating the vent pipe that goes to the roof wasn't connected. MSRs garbage technician fix for this wasn't to reconnect the vent pipe. They installed a reservoir on the laundry room wall with water in it that the dryer hose blows into to catch lint. Yeah, that works great! Not! The laundry room walls are constantly plastered with lint that we have to clean and it gets so hot in there you can't walk in or breath in there if the dryer is running.
We noticed the grass beside the house getting very green and water bill was up. I dug in the area myself to find the main water line cracked and leaking. The line looked new but whatever idiot they contracted to replace it only put the line about 6 inches underground. When I pulled my truck into the back yard to spread mulch it must have cracked it. Took MSR a week to repair. The Tech that repaired said the line run is out of plumbing code. It should've been run deeper. For added fun MSR tried to bill us for the repair. I haven't called the county building inspector but after that stunt, I will be.
Yesterday the AC stops working. Call MSR. Given the history I call back an hour later for an update only to find out the vendor they sent the work order to doesn't even service FL. What an absolute joke! I called a reliable family owned AC company I know to fix. The blower in the handler is bad. $650 repair that I'll pay so we're not sweating to death waiting on the morons at MSR to fix. I'll be deducting that from my rent.
Run far and fast before ever considering a property from MSR.
FYI. This is the first review I have ever written! I'm so disgusted with MSR I had to speak out.

They make select a star... They don't deserve one! Just an awful experience, after I paid the application fees a day later my application was cancelled. They said the house was occupied, but my son and did a walk through of two houses days before. That application process is bogus. I had to do another application because they cancelled the first one. I kept asking the speak to someone else and they said no one was available. I think they just get your application fees. HORRIBLE

Told roommates and I (college students) we were allowed cosigners. Took $200 in application fees and then told us they actually do not take cosigners. They kept the $200 and never contacted us again. The general manager, Mike Murphy declined all calls.

I have moved out of one of mainstream home in 2021. I sent the office a email stating I was moving and I would not be renewing they sent a email stating I would be removed. My roommate stated they would stay and renew the lease. They allowed the roommate to stay in the home for 8 months and not pay rent. This company drop the ball and want to make me take the blame! They sent me a email stating I owe a balance of $13,000 8 months later. I cant get anyone on the phone or by email, If this goes on my credit I will contact the news and attorney. Its ridiculous for months I cant get anyone on the phone or to respond. My old roommate sent a email stating I left the home. I even have proof of being in another lease. I'm trying to buy a home this is so not fair and against the law.

Do not rent from this company. They charged me a
$550 eviction fee when their app/website turned off my autopay. I was sent to collections for not paying my rent 17 days after it was due with no notice that they did not receive payment. They blocked my account from receiving payments. I've never had a late rent payment, and my credit score is over 800. It took me 3 months to resolve this issue. I wrote emails, called them daily, and even contacted the BBB. You cannot get through to anyone, they do not respond to emails and they connect to you a voicemail or provide a number that's constantly busy. I refused to pay the $550 fee and when I finally got to speak with someone 3 months later I was able to pay rent. When I saw my bank statement I realized the amount was $575 extra so
I requested an invoice. I got 2 emails from them with
The attached invoice, but there was no attachment.
Finally someone send me the attachment and they
Fraudulently charged me $550 for an eviction fee that I did not approve. The other $25 charge was a fee supposedly imposed by the HOA for my lawn. The head of the HOA happens to be my patient who sent a letter to them on my behalf after hearing this saying they never imposed any fines.
I cannot wait to get out of this place. Do yourself a
Favor and look elsewhere for a rental. They are scam artists and will bill you without your approval, even if you refuse.

Still no contact from Main Street Renewal but they did have the nerve to send me a text survey regarding my phone conversation with them? In July 2021 we moved to FL from IN and rented a home with MSRenewal. We vacated our lease early in February 2022 as we were able to purchase a home here in Florida. We notified 30 days before, 2 weeks before and when the home was empty. We continued to pay rent, utilities, etc. as we were told they would put the home back up for lease, but we had to pay until they rented it again. (Our lease is up July 2,2022). In March we were told the home was rented, we were cut out of the resident portal and the home was removed from their website showing it was for rent. HOWEVER, if you drive by the home, it is still vacant and they put a for lease sign in the yard but it is broken so it is an EMPTY sign in the yard. It is still not on the website showing it is for rent but if you are smart enough to call them and enter the address it will let you schedule a walk through if you want to rent it. They are NOT trying to rent the house again and I have been emailing for TWO months and I will get an email saying someone will contact me and not a single person has contacted me. Does anyone know if I have any legal rights in Florida if they are still charging me rent? I owned my home in Indiana and this is the first time I have had to rent for over 25 years. Worst experience ever and totally makes me sick to my stomach.
Don't go through them, they'll $#*! you over especially if your an out of stater, will not help you, they will leave you homeless, just a bunch of $#*! ups, this is the company out of the Charlotte nc area they really don't deserve any stars

Upon move in we were told the home was to be inspected … once we set up our hot water heater the entire home smells like gas. Have the gas company out to evaluate and told us our gas hot water heater is missing a part- allowing for gas to pump through the house. Something that would have been caught prior to move in if the home was properly inspected! I have called their call center every day and can only get in contact with the maintenance department… who just contracts out to third party vendors to fix the issues. Can't get in contact with any sort of property manager or leasing agent about if my home was properly inspected. Based off the issues we've had regarding the gas leak … looks like it wasn't. This unacceptable hazardous living conditions! Main Street will be hearing my attorney if I they do not make this right. It's a miracle the property didn't blow up and we didn't die!

Answer: Don't bother... waste of money for an overpriced house. Their customer service is terrible. They give you the run around and the techs they send out are not certified. Look like people the just find off the street and hire for a repair to do. My husband and I are currently looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We've only been renting from them for 4 months and have had SOOO many problems with this house. Look else where.
