The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers praising the efficiency and support of specific staff members during the leasing process, highlighting a seamless experience and quick move-in times. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding service delays, inadequate maintenance, and poor communication. Many customers reported unresolved issues, including mold and plumbing problems, alongside frustrations over application fees and lack of responsiveness from management. Overall, while there are positive experiences, the recurring complaints suggest a need for improved customer service and property management practices to enhance tenant satisfaction and retention.

We haven't even moved in yet, the AC doesn't work, its 110 outside, a $#_&^"%= roach in the cupboard, 3 gates all broken, they DID NOT inspect the property first, back patio full of spiderweb and bugs, toilet broken, blinds broken, and their website sucks. This socalled mgmt company is an epic fail. Dont rent from these disorganized people. I can't wait to gtf out.
When your landlord refuses to acknowledge emails or return phone call this is a major issue. They will charge you erroneous fees, then ignore you in hopes of not providing the credit you are due as a tenant. I would never rent from them again. Stay away, unless you like getting $#*!ed over.
I am writing to ask for help with my two daughters and their friend,. It is my belief that they have been scammed by a fraudulent home leasing company in your area.
Their received a job offer from prominent racing corporation after graduating from college.
My daughters decided to move down with him.
They settled on a home rental in Statesville, paying all deposits per lease and received a move in date of June 17th.
Upon arrival, we discovered the air conditioner was broken, no hot water, no running water in guest shower/tub, a broken closet door, a broken dishwasher, and living room window that does not stay open, and an infestation of ants in kitchen due to large gap between the floor and the door of the kitchen. We are unable to speak or meet with a property manager. Any phone calls to a "direct line" are diverted to a main call center, where no one answers. No one is responding to our calls or our emails.
The friend started his job and flew out of town today. My daughters and I have been staying in a local hotel due to the fact they have pets.
This has been devastating to three young people looking forward to a wonderful future.

I filled out a application and paid the fee, Received a call stating that my application wasn't approved but they cannot give me details why not, They told me i have to reach the 3rd party company in which I did, The 3rd party company told me that they cannot give me details that the managing company would have to, They are a bunch of crooks that don't know what to say, I know it wasn't because of my salary because i make over 6 figures and the rent was 2500.MY honest opinion is that you would have to go the office and paid them off so they could approved you. When I told the rep that i was going to report to the BBB she got upset and asked why would I do that, At that time she specified that i was banned from putting a application with the company, I'm glad I didn't go with them because their is a bunch of reviews that are negative toward the company, If i could give them a minus star i would give them 5 - minus stars

Today was the day my air ducts was getting cleaned and they found years of dust and mold in my master bedroom vents. I haven been telling mainstreet that my family and I was getting sick due to mold and they send a mold company and they said they can't find any didn't even bother to take down the vent. Like I said soon as the Duct doctor came to clean the air ducts they found mold in the same place I said.

We have lived at our current address for 2 years. We came from out of state and the process was very efficient. We have a leak in our ceiling upstairs. It started in December2021. We filled out a service request, which took three weeks to respond. They came out and patched the tub, and when I went to take a bath the glue all came off. The tub is still leaking after several emails, and new work orders filled out. We now have mold and are waiting to get this matter resolved. It took them three weeks to fix our air conditioner last summer. We've tried to be reasonable, but this is unacceptable. Our rent is always on time and we take good care of the property. The plumber said that the whole tub needs to be replaced.

I have rented with mainstreet for about 10 months now & there has been a few problems but that's always going to happen, maintenance requests are always fulfilled, don't believe everything you see on the internet. The house i'm staying at was built in the 1950's and surprisingly hasn't had many problems

I rented a home from MSR from June 2021 to June 2022 and it was the worst rental experience of my life (I have rented several homes and apts in my 60 years). The main sewer line clogged 7 times in 12 months and the repair response was terrible. Anywhere from 2 to 7 days despite numerous phone calls, on hold for 30 to 45 minutes at a time, calls for emergent service and numerous emails. 2 months prior to my lease termination an inappropriate utility charge was placed on my account despite utilities in my name paid monthly with no residual balance ever. After 7 phone calls, several emails including one showing a zero balance utility bill no resolution. I was never allowed to contact the "utility billing dept" from which this charge was generated. At the end of the lease this inappropriate charge was deducted from my security deposit. I am considering legal action for resolution.

Took months for them to keep updating me on a property i applied for, after two months they finally reach back and ask me to send in a picture of my social security card which I did not feel comfortable doing, then after refusing, they just closed my application after paying $100 to even apply to the property in the first place. I asked if there was somewhere I could meet them and they said no, they did not have an office I could come to, they were ALL remote..

This company doesn't care about their properties at all. There is no one at the company who has ever been to the house or knows anything about it.
The house was so filthy when we moved in that the white blinds were all brown. If they are charging residents for not cleaning before moving out, they aren't paying a cleaning service with that money.
It takes weeks for them to review bids from contractors to fix anything. They will often send out contractors who don't match the job requirements, so the whole process starts over again. I have been waiting for months to get a large hole in the side of the house fixed because it is near the roof three stories up. They keep sending out contractors who don't have tall enough ladders. I waited months to get an electrical problem fixed because they wouldn't send an electrician, just general contractors who refused to do the work.
Avoid properties in an HOA at all costs. They charge you $25 to forward every single letter from the HOA about the home. Notices will be sent to you weeks after action is required. If the HOA violation is MSR's fault, it will take you months to get the charges dropped.

They hung up on me numerous of times I really liked there homes and did all I was supposed to as far as staying and being in touch however the process to speak to some1 that is helpful other then people taking notes is horrible I spent thousand of dollars to try and get things complete and gotten no where. Granted I have voucher rta packet and security deposit but how would they know also they canceled my application but had already gave me a date it would be closed so why was it interfered with in the first place

Applied for a rental property on 4/20/22 and paid $50 application fee. On the same day I received notice that the property was no longer available. Main Street has yet to refund my $50. Each time I call for an update I receive a different response. "check has been mailed", "still pending approval from property manager", and today "check with your postal service". My concerns have been supposedly escalated several times to a manager, yet still no reply or refund. This company is not truthful and will take you money for properties listed knowing they are not available for rent.
Hello LaDonna,

This company is a scam! They take your money for the application and even if you meet all qualifications you they will deny you. When you try to call you get non English speaking agents that you can't understand and they will not let you speak to management. THIS IS A SCAM! Renters Beware!

This company has literally bought up every home in our city and continues to rent them out for triple what they're worth! They don't know why they can't approve us when we over qualify, also Can't get in most of the homes to look at them and when you do they're dirty and things are falling apart in them, This company is horrible. The reviews on here that are positive are probably paid writers made possible by all the applications they decline.

This company is responsible for the absolute worst customer service experience I have ever had. On move-in day at one of their properties, we never received the code to access the home. The hot line for customer service was only good for several hours of telling me they were unable to help, there was no manager the call could be escalated to, and that we could try calling back later.
I received the email with the password on the evening of the day that my lease began after sitting in the hot sun in a moving truck all day, 3 hours from the place I was moving from, and still needing to make another trip to get the rest of my belongings.
Naturally, I was never able to follow up with any helpful reps to have the issue resolved outside of a $100 credit I received out of the blue.

This has by far been the worst rental experience of my life! We had sewage issue in our home and they surely took their time to fix it. Customer service makes it seem that they are doing what they can to fix it and will lie to you that someone will be coming that day to help or to at least call back. Don't hold your breathe, no one will call you back. I spent hundreds of dollars staying in hotels that was never reimbursed. On top of the sewage issues the house is just falling apart. I had a kitchen light fixture crash behind me, heavy sliding doors fall off, broken outlets, etc. They also hide sneaky things in their lease agreement making you pay even more money than expected. I do not know how this company is still running!

My neighbor rents from this company after hearing all the horrible things this company is putting their family through saddens me. I have known them since I moved in my community and I makes me sick to my stomach to know the amount of care they have for their residents like this family and they should be put out of business legally. When I first saw the family I noticed how they took time to care for the home they were in not like some rental residents who just didn't care for the homes at all, so I said you take very good care of the house do you own it? I was told no but I was shocked. They were actually out on their hands and knees picking weeds I said your landlord is lucky to have you as a renter. I noticed also how they had never made any noise with a large family they had they were very well maintained as a family and well behaved. But once I noticed the pool troubles they were having I told them that I too had to fired 5 vendors as well from Clear tech pools and I know service my own pool. I say Mainstreet is horrible because this family was a good neighbor and I saw for myself all they troubles they were having with the home and once I found out they were leaving I know they next renter to move in will have the same nightmares as that family. Do not rent from Mainstreet Renewal.

Hello,
We have been renting from Mainstreet for 3 years now. No problems. Our maintenance requests were handled promptly. Of course, we were late on our rent during the pandemic, but we communicated with the office each time, paid the late fee, and there was no problem. The energy you put out is what you receive back. We are only moving because we were victims of crime, if this had not happened we would still be staying. My experience is not your experience. Well wishes to future renters

Answer: Don't bother... waste of money for an overpriced house. Their customer service is terrible. They give you the run around and the techs they send out are not certified. Look like people the just find off the street and hire for a repair to do. My husband and I are currently looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We've only been renting from them for 4 months and have had SOOO many problems with this house. Look else where.
Answer: Indeed! Integrity n honor is of no value with MSR! Hopefully they will re-evaluate their company and greed will not control them! No one has a clue of each other in the business system they run!
