I really wish the Attorneys General would come together and nail these people on behalf of the customers that they've scammed with their underhanded accounting practices.

Is it time for another "CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?"
February 28, 2020
Updated review

Thank you Marion H. I will contact John Crudele at the Sunday New York Post. Mr. Cooper's failures to be accountable for properly handling of mortgage accounts, over charge's, not applying funds correctly, nor interest payments correctly and failure to return my monies owed to me from escrow, over charges and over charges of interest calculated daily for an additional 30 day's of charge's on my loan that had been completely satisfied 30 day's prior. Multiple phone calls with Laquinte Probe for the past 5 week's and still no resolutions. Laquinte Probe claims to be head of customer relations and assured me that he would personally be handling and resolving my many issue's and concerns However, this has NOT been the case. Each phone call to him He states that someone other than himself has reviewed my account. I have repeatedly requested for him to do this and each phone conversation he says he will Yet so far that hasn't happened. Per another phone call with Laquinte Proby on Friday February 14,2020 I requested all documentations to be mailed to me via United States Postal Service because my online Mr. Cooper Account has not shown any corrections, nor updated info from my latest discrepancies of misapplied payments made on January 22,2020 and January 23,2020, Today is Friday February 28,2020Two week's later and I have Yet to receive the requested documents. I was also informed that a check for my Escrow money and over charges of interest would be mailed to me within 2 - 3 week's, as of today's date it's been 37 days (over 5 week's). Still haven't received any check. Mr Cooper Needs to be held accountable! Previously Known and operated business as NationStar Mortgage, and the employees stated that the company Rebranded, What a load of manure! Mr Cooper is currently owned and operated by all of the same NationStar employees, same CEO's, management, etc Please feel free to contact me towards taking legal actions. Thank you for taking the time to read my review/complaint.

LYING, CHEATING THIEVES!
January 24, 2020
Previous review

As Many other's stated, Mr. Cooper was previously NationStar, Name change due to Lawsuits. This company has consistently over charged my account, misapplied funds, raised my Escrow incorrectly and I've spent month's and month's and too many hours of phone calls with customer service and letter's sent to complaint department All without any corrections or resolutions. I have been reading hundreds of Reviews with similar Complaints and feel that WE need to start a Class Action Lawsuit against this Company. It's down right criminal what they have done, and continue to do to their customer's!

Sneaky Crooks
February 27, 2020

They bought my mortgage out without my approval. When I tried to cell they charged $700 to provide my certificate AND it took them FIVE weeks to produce it.

When I tried talking to them about this issue they conveniently set their reply date to 5 weeks AFTER my closing date.

Bad people, bad ethics. Don't use them.

This company does not care about anything except getting paid. I had an ongoing issues with them and they kept giving me the run around for 4 Months. I asked every question that I could to resolve the issue and I continued to receive the same letter 3 different ways. From one department to the next. I received bad information every time I called. I would not suggest if you are human to use this company. It only works for faceless, heartless, persons or Robots.

Horrible
February 20, 2020

We are in the final stage of our 30 year mortgage with less than 5 years to go when CitiMortgage sold our loan to Mr. Cooper.
Mr. Cooper's website does nothing for current mortgage holders. They not only do not have an amortization schedule you can use for your loan on line, They can't even tell you your current payoff month/year with extra principle payments we have already made. I was told that about 6 months before payoff, we will get a letter. Guess by then they have it figured out.
This is basically a payment facility. What a joke.

They call themselves Mr. Cooper to make it sound more personal, like a human. However, they are no different than any other big corporation heartless and paralyzed by common sense decision making. I had a recent new loan with Mr. Cooper. Like the other five mortgages I had at the time, I tried to put Mr. Cooper on auto pay with my bank. Something happened and the auto pay didn't take. When I received the first contact from Mr. Cooper, I was 36 days late. I paid immediately, but not before my credit was dinged with a 30 day late. I sent the explanation to Mr. Cooper with proof of my five other auto pay mortgages and proof that I had $32,000 in my account at the time this payment was due. It was clearly a mistake and caused the only negative remark on my otherwise impeccable credit. I have made 599 timely mortgage payments over the last 30 years without ever being late. Mr. Cooper denied my request and insisted on keeping the negative reporting. Unfortunately for me, I was in the process of purchasing my home and will now be paying over $100 more a month for the next 30 years due to a higher rate ($36,000). Thanks Mr. Cooper! You should change your name to a more appropriate name like Mr. Corporate Greed Machine.

Why would they tell me my escrow is 670? Short And I pay it. Can I send me an escrow overage for like $67? That's why My payments go up like $40. And I can explain why.

Mr. Cooper should be embarrassed and ashamed of their horrible slow and cumbersome business practice when it comes to returning insurance money to the homeowner. After getting hit by an EF3 tornado we have been waiting for our insurance money to be endorsed by Mr. Cooper and returned, so we can complete our projects. I. e. Roof, windows, exterior of house etc. We've had to float ourselves $60,000 while we wait and Mr. Cooper invests and earns interest on our money and creates a tone of paperwork and bull$#*! requests. They suck.

Very Frustrating
January 30, 2020

They bought my mortgage from another company and it's been nothing but issues since. I tried to set up their bi-weekly program for months and they could not get it sorted. I finally found the executives emails and contacted them directly and that was the only way I had resolution. The "customer care" woman told me to not contact the executives again. Totally disorganized and really shady at times.

For legal purposes I won't disclose my name or location but I am a former " Cooper" I can tell u first hand that this company is a joke they do not care about their customers they have the option to waive the 20.00 pay by phone fee that they charge u but refuse to because they want their customers to go on their website and stop calling them... if u ever have a complaint u will more than likely be hung up on as cooper employees are poorly trained and often have bad attitudes because their lunches are cut down to 30 minutes instead of a full hour or because most employees make less than 16 an hour... most cooper managers are newbies to the mortgage business and have less than 2 years experience they will often make false promises to get customers off the telephone or avoid customer calls all together... the best way to get a results are to ask for the following managers... Robert (Patrick) O Neal, Matthew Connor, Ned Tempsta, they will ignore u also while they make off color and inappropriate jokes in the workplace but will probably get one if they're flunkies to respond to your messages if in the DFW area u should probably pay a visit to their main office 800 121 bypass Lewisville, TX security is about a big of a joke as they are

Since November I've been trying to modify my loan before it goes into foreclosure. I've written then, and the loan specialist Brittany Pruitt and have gotten no response. I come to find out that my home goes up for a Sale on February 19, yet all my papers have been in since December. Every time they requested paperwork I handed them in, and when I asked to speak to the specialist on a question she was never available. If the purpose was to take my home (when I haven't even missed 10 months of payments due to job loss and I was willing to work w them when I recuperated my job) why even bother agreeing to do the modification?! Why string me along? According to state law, if all paperwork is handed in to the mortgage company before 38 days prior to the sale they must stop the sale, yet they haven't! Is this how you do business?!

Here is the email I sent to Mr. Cooper "You are very disorganized. You have stung us along for months, not answering emails, saying you've spoken to your manager about the jumbo loan back in December, telling us what our approved amount is and now all of sudden. You also said my husband couldn't be on the loan but have had him on with other companies we've applied to. I will be writing a review on you specifically and mr Cooper.

If a -10 could be given, that wouldn't even come close to rating this evil establishment! Why do you think they had to change their name from NationStar? And then choose Mr Cooper? They have been trying to take my home for over a year now!

My experience with this company was completely miserable. I don't want to bore you with all the details but the best advice I can give anyone looking to do business with this company is DON'T! Use any other mortgage company on the planet other than Mr. Cooper (Nationstar). Stay as far away from Mr. Cooper (Nationstar) as you possibly can. Never in your lifetime subject yourself to the kind of torture that doing business with Mr. Cooper (Nationstar) can inflict on your sanity. Also, they have changed their name from Nationstar to Mr. Cooper to get away from there previously bad reputation. Just because one changes their name doesn't mean that their bad business practices have changed. Need I say more? I can, but won't.

They paid a non-resident property tax on my home even though this is my PRIMARY house which they knew. Now My mortgage payment went Way up because my escrow is in the negative. No communication with the customers. This could of been easily resolved if they just would of contacted me to begin with! Horrible customer service and policy's. Not recommend at all!

Bad customer service
January 16, 2020

My mortgage was recently transferred to this company with very little notification. I contacted Mr. Cooper once regarding a letter they sent. It was from refinancing which was not stated. The man who helped me was rude and so pushy. I explained that I recently got transferred and was just inquiring about the transfer and not refinancing. Today, three weeks later, I received a call from them. The man on the phone stated that he just wanted to verify some info. After doing so he asked me if I had any questions. I did. I had one and asked it. He did not really answer my question he seemed to be reciting something off of a script. I asked again in detail based on the info I had received from my previous lender and he interrupted me and was rather rude about it. He kept stating the same info one which did not relate to my question. He stated that he will just send info in the mail and I was trying to say there was no need but he would not listen. He also wanted to confirm a number, one that I don't have and would not listen to me. I had to hang up. It seemed I was talking to a robot. This was horrible. I dislike that this is who has my mortgage. I wasn't thinking about refinancing, but this has definitely made me consider it. I just don't trust them. I will be looking for another mortgage lending.

Horrible Company!
December 29, 2019

Financial problems caused us to get a month behind on our mortgage. When I called Mr. Cooper to discuss options, I was told we could do a 6 month forbearance at a reduced payment. It was all done over the phone in about 5 minutes. There were no forms to sign and no formal agreement sent to us. I asked specifically what would happen with the balance after the 6 months and was told to call and make a payment arrangement. All 6 reduced payments were made in time. At the end of the forbearance, I received a statement that said we owed over 5k. I called to make arrangements and was told that my only options were to pay the full balance due or sell my home. I would never have agreed to the forbearance if I was aware of that. I cannot pay the 5k in a lump sum. When I spoke with a supervisor named Sarah, she claimed that they sent me the terms of the forbearance by mail and my online account. I never received anything from them and there are no forbearance documents online either. I asked for a copy of the recorded phone call to prove the terms were never disclosed. Sarah refused my request stating it was against policy. When I asked for a copy of the policy, I was told she couldn't send it to me and I could find it on their website. I have thoroughly searched the website and found no policy stating she could not send me the recording. There was no attempt whatsoever to help me get current, just sell my home. This company lies and doesn't care about their customers. I have reached out to a lawfirm to start a civil suit against them.
