This is a review for Mike and Diego at BEST COAST MOVING. I selected them via the U-Haul website under MovingHelp.com. I'm so glad I did! There was a mistake on U-Haul's end about when my movers would meet me in Los Angeles driven down from Oakland. Mike fixed the issue right away and was able to come the very next morning to unload the U-Haul truck. Both Mike and Diego effortlessly unloaded the 15' truck in under 2 hours. They placed everything exactly where I needed it following my direction. I highly recommend BEST COAST MOVING for all your moving needs!
I hired clean cut movers through uhauls moving helpers. It has been the worst moving experience I've ever had. They trashed most of my items with no compensation. Justin Corey is nothing more than a con man. Gave me the run around for months and moving helpers do nothing to hold them accountable.
MovingHelp is trying to be the Uber of moving help. However, they fall very short on what really matters, customer service and customer experience. When you have a problem with your movers, the only thing MovingHelp does is send an "urgent" email to your designated movers. As I experienced, their "urgent" email did absolutely nothing. My movers still didn't show up. Ultimately I had to cancel with the selected movers and reschedule with another one, costing me and my family 2 nights in a hotel, plus food. MovingHelp excuses themselves by saying it is not them, it is the movers. They take no accountability in being your service provider nor do they issue any penalty when movers fail to show up. Frankly, I'm surprised U-Haul supports this company since this company was advertised by U-Haul. Again, I think this leaves a poor image for U-Haul as well since I booked everything there. If you are listening U-Haul, your reputation is being tarnished by such poor service.
This was a nightmare and movinghelp is totally useless, how they are still in business is mindboggling. No contact phone number, all the movers are "contractors" moving help assumes no responsibility for anything. The contractors are not vetted, certified, insured nor bonded, and uhaul, what a joke they want your money, they could care less about you nor your move and though this company is part of uhaul, uhaul does nothing if they screw up.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. This is nothing but a Middle Man Brokerage for a bunch of Shysters and Con Artists. You are far better off hiring a Professional Moving Company where you have a formal contract at a flat fee and if there is damage you have recourse. In addition, Professional Moving Companies have workers that do this for a living, not as a side job. I've used MovingHelp a few times now, and all but one time, I've had so-called "Movers" who immediately start trying to renegotiate the terms, always wanting to be paid in Cash or claiming they haven't received the funds from MovingHelp when they actually have in an attempt to extort more money from me. If you choose to use this Service and your Provider starts talking about being able to work a better deal if you pay them Cash, HANG UP, DO NOT USE THEM! They're Scam-Artist! Personally, I think these folks need to be investigated. My last move, when I totaled all the costs for the truck rental, cost of gas, my time, paying the "Movers" more than what was originally anticipated because they moved at the pace of a snail (something they do when paid by the hour, no incentive to move efficiently), it would've have been cheaper to hire a Professional Moving Company. This cost doesn't even include the damage to my belonging done by these inexperienced, couldn't give damn "Movers"! If you choose to use MovingHelp, I recommend you use different "Movers" to Load and Unload your truck. My experience has shown that using the same for both will cost you more money because they think you should pay for them to drive to the next destination and they also take their time loading up the truck cause they know they're the ones who are going to unload it. Just some advice from someone who has been burned by using this Service and will NEVER use it again EVER!
BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! This company took my money money and services were NEVER rendered. When first booked everything was okay however it rained and we rescheduled. The second time it rained again and we rescheduled. I asked if I needed to cancel online and call when I was ready. I was told no, they would continue rescheduling on their end. (I have text to prove it) I called and texted them on 2/2/20 and I instantly got a text messages and voice recording saying it was blocked. I tried aging on the 3rd and the same thing. I WAS RIPPED OFF! I filed a case and contacted the resolution center and they took NO responsibility for it. Order # 0AEAEA35... Two Godly Men (Shane Flores) out of Coppell, TX. Nothing Godly about it
I do not recommend booking with Movinghelp.com direct. There are too many website technical glitches that resulted in my card getting charged, but no order. I have spent a total of 6 hours troubleshooting with them and I still have not succeeded in getting my order correctly booked. (I am super technically savvy.) And they have charged my account, not once, but twice, refusing to release the holds. I can't try booking again with them, out of concern they'll use up all my available money and still not book my move.
What happens is you book your order online and an error message appears saying to recheck your billing, CSC. I did that. Re-entered it but it was denied because they had already charged my account, using up my available funds. Of course, they don't tell you this. You keep seeing the same "check billing, then try again" error message each time you check billing and try again. I only learned they had charged me by logging into my bank account.
The next day I deposited more money, called my bank to verify my billing address, and rebooked another order. Same thing happened.
Movinghelp.com email support has been terrible, somewhat mocking. They blame me for entering the wrong billing. (I took a pic of it, 100% accurate.) They tell me they can't release the hold, but to ask my bank to release the hold. They are fully aware banks can't release holds, only merchants can. *Everyone* knows this.
Clearly, there is a technical glitch because I did book Movinghelp.com via Uhaul.com twice this week and both jobs were paid for and completed successfully. I have been trying to book my third order this week, now that the other two are completed and I still have stuff to move!
Even though the first two jobs went great, I give MovingHelp.com a 1 star for
1) Charging my account before verifying billing
2) Blowing me off by insisting I had made an error with my billing ( I used the same correct billing that was already in their system from the previous two jobs paid for and completed THIS SAME WEEK.
3) Being rude to me
4) Telling me it will cost me $9.95 if I want to talk to support on the phone to fix the problem
5) Not being able to trust them that their two pending charges are holds, and not charges that I'll have to dispute later.
Anyone suggest any good competitors? I need a mover this Thursday afternoon, Feb 6,2020. And Movinghelp.com still has two $82 + $54 holds on my account.
I used a mover on the site called CADILLAC Moving services, worst experience ever. They were OBVIOUSLY INEXPERIENCED, extremely slow on purpose I think as its pay per hour, rough-handled my property (dents, bruises, damage and broken boxes allover) Arrived later than expected and very disappointing service. Last load was going into my pickup truck, they just dumped everything not bothering if it was secure (I offered straps to secure the stuff but they passively ignored me) and driving to my location 10mins away I lost a beautiful costly rug, a box and a shoe stand which fell off on the freeway. When I tried communicating the fact after it happened, I got no response.
Short and to the point. I used this service to move from Ca to GA. I had to change the dates as I was pending orders for the job. This company owes me $585.00 to this date. The worst part was having 2 ex-convicts show up with no packing or loading experience. Many of my items were broken/damaged. Uhaul claims no accountability and neither does the sub company. I would go with a reputable company next time, even if it costs more. You can always write off the move if it's over 50 miles for a new job. I will never use again nor recommend this service, EVER!
Before booking I made sure they had a 24-hour in advance cancellation policy because my new apartment was not official yet. I ended up having to cancel the moving help and it was the most confusing, frustrating process where I had to call several times and create an online account and hunt down a code to read over the phone. A couple days after I had supposedly cancelled, sure enough my card was still charged. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get a refund. They claimed they were never paid, but my bank account says otherwise. Supposedly I will get my refund in 7-10 business days, but I could really use that $200. It's hard waiting for a refund on a charge that should have never happened.
This is by far the most unprofessional and reliable company I have ever come into contact with. I booked my first set of movers who never contacted me. I called, email, texted and no response. The customer service team is a joke; they do not help you at all. I could not get anyone to call and assist me in rescheduling and went back and forth on email with them countless times. I was originally told that I could cancel and rebook for the same price, that was a lie. Paid an additional $40 for the second set of movers the morning before my scheduled move. Same thing as the first: no one called me back or got into contact with me. Went through a nightmare with the customer service again. Waited on the phone for over an hour while they tried to contact companies. They booked me with a third one, who was another $40 extra. They did text, but told me that they could not accommodate my timing. Not surprising considering it was 12 hours before my scheduled move. Do not use movinghelp! I have never written a review in my life until now.
I thought that since Moving Help was sourced through the U-Haul website, they must be good. WRONG! So very wrong. It appears to me that Moving Help is just a website middleman connecting "providers" with customers. I was connected to "Bay, City Moving." The comma after "Bay" is not a typo, that's how they list their name. I cannot find them on Yelp. I googled them, found a listing, but it just sends you to the Moving Help website.
The guys that came to load just a few items acted like professionals. The lead guy talked like he was experienced and knew it all. He knew nothing. I stressed over and over again when I booked the service, when the scheduling person texted me, and the guys that showed up, is that I wanted the furniture very well protected for a 700 mile move in a U-Haul trailer. The lead guy assured me that he'd take care of me. He'd wrap the furniture in the moving blankets I provided and by his self proclaimed Tetris skills, "I'll take care of you, it will ride nice, no worries."
It didn't ride well at all. Just the opposite. The bouncing of the trailer on the highway had josled every pad out of place, leaving my expensive furniture to rub on the walls of the trailer and against each other.
Do not take comfort in the fact that these fly by night services are linked through the U-Haul site. U-Haul does not stand behind it. You call them, they'll just give you the Moving Help number, which you will be on wait forever if you call. Do not take comfort in the fancy Moving Help website. It looks to me like they're just middle men connecting you with God only knows who. In this case, I think "Bay, City Moving" doesn't really exist as a real company. No address, no website. Could be just a group of guys with a slick idea to make more money than the minimum wage jobs they qualify for... and they just talk slick to make you think they're real movers with real experience when they're not.
I used C&E AFFORDABLE MOVERS and I got money from my account deducted twice and after texting them a few times to try and get one of the amounts refunded he told me to quit harassing him as though I was being a pain for trying to get one of the charges refunded and at one point said he had just bought cigarettes and didn't really have any money and then said I shouldn't be texting him 10 at night though I had texted him at 730 and he actually answered back around 10. Then he texted me around 3 in the morning. It'd be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. I had actually done a good review cause the work was good but not worth paying twice. And Movinghelp is no help whatsoever. I would never use them again and if you ever use C&E AFFORDABLE MOVERS, good luck cause you will need it.
I was double charged. And they will not refund my money. Do not tip in cash. It's a total nightmare to try and talk to anyone its nothing but a run around. So you just eat the cost they gouged out by a BOGUS review websight!
Paid for job, Fast Track Moving. They never showed up, left several messages on phone, they never even returned calls. Moving help was no help, even in getting my money refunded. Would not recommend.
Booked two guys for a simple trailer load of a one bedroom apartment (I have a heart problem so I dont tend to move stuff much). Guy texts me on the morning of the move that they dont work in the rain and we can reschedule for 'tomorrow'. NO! I drove 4 hours to meet these guys at my daughters apartment. They said the ramps get slippery. No ramps... just a trailer. Wanted to post a review where I booked, but you cant review if you didn't pay. On top of it, MovingHelp sent me an email saying that its not their fault, they are independent, they have NOTHING to do with any of it. If you put me together with these clowns, you have something to do with it. All I wanted was a way to warn others that this company that was contracted, failed to show... but there is no way to do so
Very friendly and prompt service. I would use them again. The two movers were very careful moving all furniture. I had gotten a truck that was too small but they strategically fit my furniture.
Doing a cross country move. Hired movers from MovingHelp.com to help me load the Uhaul at Point A, and another set of movers to help unload the Uhaul when I reached my destination at Point B. Point A movers never showed up leaving me high and dry and forcing me to try and load the Uhaul by myself after recently getting out of the hospital. After attempting to call the moving company 3 or 4 times throughout the day and leaving multiple voicemails with them, I called and spoke with Judy at MovingHelp.com, whose only resolution was to cancel Point A's reservation. In doing so she also cancelled Point B's reservation. When I asked if she indeed did cancel both reservations she assured me she did not... she was mistaken. Due to Point A movers complete lack of professionalism (should probably look into a different line of business), I had to hire an entire new set of movers on short notice for the following day, pay for a nights stay at a hotel, and incur other Misc. Charges. And thanks to Judy's error I had to hire new movers for Point B's arrival.
Moral of the story... MovingHelp.com is worthless and unnecessary. Your time and money would be better served if you simply set up your own movers.
We needed to store our furniture for a few weeks while we waited for our home to be completed. Because of the cost of moving and storage, UBoxes seemed like a viable choice. Upon reserving the boxes, I stated I would need assistance, and I was assigned a company called Magnificent Mighty Movers. I thought because I insured the boxes, the contents would be covered for damages. It was apparent when the UBoxes were opened, furniture pads were not utilized. Bags of unopened furniture pads from UHaul tumbled out of the boxes. Following the move, I immediately pointed out two items to one of the owners, and he assured me he would take care of it. One was a leather chair and the other a nightstand. As we unpacked and moved furniture around, we discovered countless gouges on both the furniture and the new walls. One in particular was a deep gouge and nearly foot long scratch on a maple drop leaf table built by my late father. I immediately contacted UHaul who explained the movers were a contract company and are overseen by MovingHelp. The UHaul representative also stated these movers are trained before they are contracted, and it sounded as though they did not use the furniture pads in packing the UBoxes. I photographed and documented everything so I would have a record of damages. I contacted MovingHelp with my documentation, and I was told I needed to make a claim, and that they encourage the consumer to work things out with the provider. The company owners have only had excuses and believed they could fix the damages themselves. I know that I will not be satisfied with this and have consulted furniture repair expert who said the surface of dining room table will need to be planed down in order to correct because of the deep gouge. We moved August 5, and we are now looking at 3 months. I am disgusted with the whole process. UHaul needs to be more prudent in who they recommend, MovingHelp is a worthless scam of a company with no assistance in mediating between the consumer and the movers. In the end, this move is costing me more than if I had gone with a professional moving company and paid the cost for storage. I'm attaching two examples.
This was the worst moving experience I could imagine. The sent some crew out called camouflage moving. They were unapologetic in being late and when I ask the lead guy not to deny my wife's credenza, he said I should have wrapped it and that damage happens when moving. Then he immediately say he was leaving. His helper flashed a gang sign and threatened me. This is what Uhaul sent to my house. Never again...
Answer: Do not use these people. They don't care if they ruin your furniture. They are very inexperienced, and are a total rip off! Don't believe what you read about them on MovingHelp, that's completely false!
Answer: A good moving company is Almighty Movers. I used them before and they are professional, did a great job, and do not overcharge. I about to move again, and will be using them again for sure! You can count on them for help.
