I purchased a gift card for my mothers Birthday, come to find out they only allow you to use their tickets at participating theaters. I called and spoke with the most unprofessional, soft spoken customer service rep ever. I asked for a refund and he so kindly tells me, "we don't do refunds."
My mother calls and gets the same guy, which tells me he runs the whole place (how many times do you call a seemingly "big" company and get the same person?) I'll answer that... 0. Needless to say, movietickets.com is garbage and I'd recommend NEVER using them in your lifetime.
HORRIBLE. These gift cards are a SCAM. My mom bought me one for Father's Day in Grass Valley, CA (even though no theaters anywhere near Grass Valley participate with movietickets.com). I live in Sacramento, CA (the state capital of CA) and there are NO PARTICIPATING THHEATERS IN A 2 HOUR RADIUS. Customer service told me there are no refunds and I just have to drive to a participating theater. Their business practices are immoral...
I have a gift card from this site that I have been unable to use for a week. The site is difficult to navigate, but after trying and trying I finally got everything entered correctly and the transaction failed. Several times. They respond to my email requests for help, but I still have not been able to redeem my gift card. It feels like a scam. Or else it's just the worst website I have ever seen.
While purchasing two tickets the Web site did not complete the transaction. Message said site is temporarily down and to try again with in the hour. This was after entering the transaction detail but with out the confirmation. Came back later and started the transaction again and completed it. Then checked E-mail that actually both transactions were completed and I had purchased two tickets I did not need. I received the reimbursement for the extra tickets at the AMC movie theater but I can not get reimbursed for the transaction fee charged by MoiveTickets.com I have spoken too them three times and sent two E-mails. They ignore the E-mails, and the people on the phone tell me a Supervisor will contact me. It's not the $2.00 but it's them taking responsibility. How many thousands of $1 transaction fees do they rip off from peple and no one complains because it's only $1.
