The default settings are for today's date so if you purchase tickets, make sure to change the date to the one you want right before you pay. I did not check again before i paid and when i realized after receiving the confirmation minutes later, i contacted the help desk who said that since the show i had tickets for started within 2 hours, they would not refund or exchange.
I joined Showcase cinema in Reading, which was great there was no charge. However when I come to log in it tells you your log in details are incorrect. I have reset my password to try to overcome this problem, 5 times now! And it still doesn't work!
I have been onto the customer service e mail for Movietickets.com which is the people this is linked to and all the response I get is that I am not registered. Even though I have a card that has been sent, and various new passwords from them!
Don't bother, you just have to make a trip to the cinema to pre- purchase tickets. It is a joke and their customer service is appalling.
The fact that you have to give them your credit card in order to use a prepaid gift given to you... the $#*!tards sitting around there board rooms figuring out take your money and your info and not deliver should be strung up by there scrotum or labia and business degrees shoved up there rectums lubeless and then poked with small sharp sticks by the unwitting victims for eternity! What a logic hole business... go $#*! yourself movietickets.com!
Asked about seat reservations and they say that they don't have that feature and won't refund my money.
Got to this site by accidents. Later found out that the tickets I bought were more expensive that if I'd bought them on the theatre's own website. Worse still I had to line up at the theatre to exchange my email voucher for tickets to enter. If I had bought tickets on the theatre's own website I would have waltzed right in with the ticket printed at home or on my smartphone. This is the sort of site that gives websites a bad name.
I bought these gift cards from Costco, I must say that it was a big mistake. You have to do everything online and just when I thought that you could use it for food at the movie theatre, WRONG AGAIN! Plus, you have to pay $1.00 everytime you use
It online. Each gift card is $25.00 and if you bought one ticket, it tells you print it or redeem it at the kiosk (if you're theatre had a kiosk) so let's say you're movie ticket is 12 bucks you place your ticket order pay $1 and now you have $13 dollars left. You can't use the $13 dollars towards food so you would use it for another day and pay another $1. Very irritating especially if you're giving them out as gift and the person that's receiving the card has to pay $1?
movietickets.com are terrible.
I just bought movietickets.com cards from Costco - thinking this is an easy way to save a little money on movie tickets. I should have just bought the tickets at the theatre.
It takes at least 1 hour to book your tickets. With a few failed attempts along the way. Customer service line is also 10-25 min wait. Terrible.
What a horrible site. Nothing about it works - neither the on-line site nor the mobile app. Hollywood, with all its money, couldn't hire better programmers? I feel sorry for the movie theaters that signed up with these guys, because nobody in their right minds would walk down this path of stupidity hell. Shame on movietickets.com. Their mothers are hanging their heads...
Bought 100$ for 80$ costco giftcard. Stupid thing will not let me choose seats when I try to book tickets. Also cannot use two cards at the same time in a theater. Never using this site again.
I ordered two tickets on this site because I was directed there by the Flixster app on my phone. Well, never again will I use this site! My purchase appeared successful and money was even taken from my account (by "movietickets.com") so I assumed there would be no issue, even though I never received an email confirmation (yes, I looked in my spam folder, etc). I was simply told to present the card I used to pay for the tickets. Well when I arrived at the theater, they insisted that there was no record of my order. Of course I used "guest checkout" and I never received an email confirmation, so I didn't even have an order number to prove my purchase. So I had to purchase two MORE tickets. I was obviously infuriated and relieved that the movie wasn't sold out by the time I got there. Now, I'm in the process of trying to get a hold of their customer service line and so far have been unsuccessful. I've sent multiple emails, filled out tickets on their site, and have called multiple times. Once while calling I miraculously got a hold of a human being, and she acted like she couldn't hear me (my mute was NOT on) and she HUNG UP ON ME. So I'm still attempting to get a full refund from this shady site and have had no luck. STAY AWAY FROM MOVIETICKETS.COM!
No refund policy and no guarantee for a seat at the theater? Why bother using this crap website to begin with?!
I ordered tickets off of the site and, not realizing that I was on the mobile site, I wasn't offered the option to select my seats. When I called customer service, I waited on hold for ten minutes only to be told by the customer service rep that it was my fault for ordering off of the "wrong site". Here's a thought, why not focus on offering the same core functionality on the mobile site and, even more basic, train your customer support reps to offer sympathy and to never place blame on their customers. It is incredibly frustrating to be charged a convenience fee for this experience.
IFC directs you to this web site to buy tickets but the damn thing doesn't work. Awful website. Just freezes up
movietickets.com is a total scam! I was charged a $1 convenience fee when there no convenience realized when purchasing a movie ticket online thru the site. No printable online ticket is generated! You still have to go to the ticket window at the theater and present your credit card to get a ticket! In actuality the service is an INCONVENIENCE! Time and effort is simply wasted making the online purchase since doing so saves no time whatsoever at the theater! To top it off the online purchase doesn't even guarantee a seat at the movie!
I received a movietickets.com gift card. I tried to use it once, but when I went to the theater, it had no record that I had bought the tickets even though I showed the confirmation that I had printed out. Next I tried to check the balance online to see if it was charged and a message displayed stating that my gift card was invalid. I tried to call customer service, but the phone did not ring. I emailed them, but received no answer. I then filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. In a few days, I received an email from the company's CEO, Joel Cohen, asking me to contact him directly by email. I did this and a couple of days later received a call from an underling who admitted there were problems. He assured me that the card was OK and still had the full initial balance on it, meaning, I assume, that the first transaction never actually went through. I looked up the company and found that it is partially owned by Time Warner and AMC Theaters. I should think that both of these big companies would be embarrassed if they knew how awful movietickets.com works and treats its customers. Movietickets.com is limited in theater coverage. Of the dozen or so theaters within a 25 mile radius of where I live, only three accept movietickets.com. If you want to buy reserved movie tickets, I recommend Fandango. It works everywhere. Movietickets.com charges $1 for every ticket it processes. It's not worth the aggravation.
Incredibly misleading, poor customer service, and unjustified charges. Their fundamental business proposition is that if you make a mistake on date or showtime - you're screwed. You are charged the service fee (for no actual useful service), and if you make a mistake, you may or may not be entitled to a refund, and if you're lucky to have a shot at it, you need to GO TO the theater yourself (BEFORE THE SHOWTIME or you are screwed) and request a refund in person.
Have a gift card, can't use it. Customer support give instructions that are impossible to follow. Don't use
Awkward website, not client friendly nor is their customer service. Your seats will be auto selected for you and you may or may not be able to override that selection. In my case I was not able to do so. Called customer service and they told me there is nothing they could do for me - call your theater. After purchasing tickets you will then have to download their specific app on your phone in order to get your ticket(s) sent to you phone. The app download worked but I never received a digital receipt.
Be sure to book your tickets through Fandango.
I would give this company ZERO stars if I could. Can NOT USE gift cards and phone number for customer service is OUT OF ORDER!
I would only buy a movietickets.com gift card for someone IF I REALLY WANTED TO PISS THEM OFF!
I bought a card for my daughter and she GAVE IT BACK!
The limitations are BS. The website is a POS***.
STAY AWAY from this company, their cards, their site.
