Monoprice

The only place to purchase mobility cables and other electronic cabling needs.

While offering many other products, including some nice quality monitors, Monoprice is the one place to purchase your cabling needs.

With lifetime warranties on many mobility type cables, as well as lowest cost, the various types and qualities offered make for smart buying decisions.

Some cables may not last as long as one might hope but the quality is typically good to very good to even excellent. Combined with low cost these USB cables for mobile device usage are the place I almost always go when needed.

I've also purchased ear buds, headphones and other type cables and overall have been satisfied every time. RMA's, when needed are handled fairly quickly via the website. Turnaround time is often hours. They have also, in the past, asked for photos of damaged/broken cables to give their tech department updated info. They also have never asked for broken cables to be returned.

From friends and colleagues I've heard good reviews for their higher priced items like monitors. The headphones and ear buds purchased were decent quality especially for the price.

Only thing to watch is shipping costs. Sometimes a single item ordered for less than $2 can cost $3 to ship. Although recently they've had reduced cost shipping choices and occasionally have free shipping days for certain items.

I can't attend to every item offered but with their very good customer service I would chance the purchase provided the reviews were adequate. Obviously you need to research any moderately priced items for quality, durability and performance.

I ordered a couple lightning cables, and they had very shaky connections. Their return policy required that I send them back before I can receive replacements, which would leave me without a way to charge my phone for a few days, which isn't doable. Bad return policy, no help from staff.

I am opening a venue and purchased a Sonos system. Pricey and wonderful.
After calling Monoprice, they assure me of their super metal shelves to secure each of my 500 speakers up high...
Once we received them, we realized those shelves could indeed move the speaker from right to left and up and down... YET, speaker would be free standing... Not able to secure the speaker to this shelve is simply insane... and we told them do!
We of course decide to return those "effective" shelves... as they do not serve a purpose safely.
Company refused to pay for return(48 dollars). And took longer than usual to reimburse.
The manager was out to lunch. No one cared... I would not advise to buy from this company as products are poor and so is their response...

One of the nice things about Monoprice is that they seem to have almost everything.
The other is that their chat support works well. Tim L found the cables i needed, that i'd been unable to find despite some searching.
So all in all, a satisfying experience.

I ordered a couple of noise cancelling headphones paying a shipping premium for 2 day delivery. Mono price never sent the parcel to the shipper. I called them to let them know that the shipper (Lasership?) had posted an exception on their tracking screen saying that they had not received the parcel. Mono price customer service said that happens all the time but that the parcel had actually shipped. Three days later, no headphones and the shipper still posts that they haven't received the parcel. Guess I'm going overseas without headphones. Terrible customer service, zero effort to correct problems brought to their attention, and a "too bad" attitude. Lesson learned. I will never buy from this company again.

Bad customer service
March 23, 2016

9 days after placing my order with mono price, I reported the shipment missing with UPS. I called Monoprice to solve my missing package problem with them. I needed the products (for my business) right away. The message was clear. "Sorry, but you need to place the order again, with next day shipping (since I needed the products right away), and no we won't pay for next day shipping or even NORMAL shipping, that's on you". I said "thank you, scumbags". UPS lost my package and I have to wait 8 days for them to find my package or pay up. Surely there must be a way to deal with this in a better way. E.g. By shipping out the order again - with next day delivery, and dealing with the UPS issue FOR THE CLIENT (meaning me), would be the way to deal with it. Seriously... Buy our stuff, and wait - forever if you have to - or order the same thing again. AND THEN --- I guess I would have to return the items AFTER UPS finally find the box - and THEN get my money back. That's NOT customer service. That's just bad business. Products are semi okay - you get what you pay for. It's china products, labeled and shipping from the US. Soldering on audio cables (e.g. XLRs) is... well - crab.

Ripped Off!

I ORDERED SOME 1/4" X RCA PLUG IN ADAPTERS FOR MY BRAND NEW PEAVEY MIXER - AFTER PLUGGING THEM INTO MY NEW MIXER I TURNED ON THE POWER AND BEGAN PLAYING MY KEYBOARD. I NOTICED MY LEFT SPEAKER KEPT CUTTING OUT - SO I CHECKED THE PLUG ADAPTER CONNECTION OF THE LEFT SPEAKER OUTPUT OF THE MIXER AND SURE ENOUGH THAT WAS THE PROBLEM.
I WENT TO REMOVE IT AND IT PRACTICALLY FELL OUT OF THE SOCKET! I REMOVED IT AND THE BARREL WAS ACTUALLY DISCONNECTED FROM THE BLACK RING & TIP WITH THE TIP STILL LODGED IN MY BRAND NEW MIXERS LEFT CHANNEL MAIN SPEAKER OUTPUT. NOW I CANNOT INSERT A CONNECTOR INTO THAT PORT MAKING THE MIXER UN-USABLE. I REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO MONOPRICE ON FEB. 2,2016 AND HAVE BEEN GETTING THE RUN-AROUND SINCE. THEN THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REP ASKED ME TO SEND MY BRAND NEW MIXER TO THEM AND THEY WOULD SEND ME ACHECK FOR THE COST OF REPLACEMENT. WELL, THAT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE ON MY PART! NOW THEY HAVE MY MONEY, ADAPTERS AND MY BRAND NEW MIXER AND NOW I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM AND THE HAD MY MIXER FOR 2 WEEKS NOW! I HAVE PURCHASED ALOT OF PRO-AUDIO EQUIPMENT FROM MONOPRICE BUT AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE I AM DOING MY SHOPPING ELSEWHERE.

I was at a loss
March 14, 2016

I had a KVM switch and a mix of desktops and servers. The Switch would take as input and give as output only DVI-D. That is right, DVI-DIGITAL. I tried a number of connectors and "converters" which baqsically did a pass-through of the VGA signal that the servers provided.

The KVMs were expensive, and missing communication on the servers was a big flaw since I had to develop on them. The roundabout ways of using ssh and terminals were inadequate.

So, I looked at Monoprice. Sure enough, they had a rather pricey VGA to DVI-D converter. I ordered one and it worked like a champ. I ordered to fit my needs and I am happy. It still cost less than finding enough desk real estate to fit all the consoles I would have needed.

I have bought HDMI, TV mounts, components, had drives, and audio cables from these people for years. If they send you a bad product just tell them and they make it right.

I turned on years ago the service guys from Cablevision and they were all buying their stuff from Monoprice.

Item not delivered I ordered 2 x LED Video Camcorder Light with 140 Pieces LED and 960 Lumens Brightness on 1/14/2016. I order 2 but was delivered only 1. It took me an hour long wait to get hold of a rep on the phone. After that, the rep said sorry we can't do anything about it, just issue you refund for the on enot received. I told them that I ordered it as a pair and if they could send me a similar item they may have in stock but the response was poor.

Disappointments:
- Non-delivery of full order - Non-replacement of missed item - Only option to take the refund and shut up - Phone system asking me to go to live chat - Live chat not functioning. Saying all reps busy - Phone wait time around 1 hour - After 1 hour wiat, no satisfactory resolution My observation on Monoprice: Unreliable vendor. Long wait time, customer service not helpful.

Never doing business again with Monoprice

Been buying from Monoprice for years, but their shipping, communications, and customer service have gone downhill.

When I ordered, everything was in stock and ready to ship. 6 days later I get an email saying one item is out of stock, so no shipment until today. I am due to install tonight, so I called and was on hold for 20 minutes with no answer, so I tried the online chat.

Nice woman, but their systems are from 1987 and nothing can be changed. I need this equipment for a client install tonight... they don't care. Won't rush it for me. Can't tell me when it will get here.

Bottom line - if you want good cheap stuff and have no time requirement, they can be a good choice. But there are many others, nowadays, with equal pricing & quality along with better service.

Purchased an HDMI switch last year it did not work correctly their customer service wanted me to purchase more items to "fix" the problem, replaced the switch with another manufacture fixed the problem

Stay away from this merchant. Willfully and knowingly ships to criminals. They charged me $639.00 for a camera I never ordered and will be delivering to someone named Muammar Thalib. They told me they canceled the order after I reported to them that my card had been stolen... but instead they chose to ship to good ol' Thalib anyway.

Terrible shipping
December 12, 2015

I ordered HDMI cables on November 30 and was very surprised when my package arrived on December 8 with an invoice inside an empty envelope. I immediately called customer service and was told they would resend my items via 2 day UPS. It is now December 12th and no package and of course they are closed on Saturday. I hope the package arrives on Monday the 14th, but if not, I will dispute the charge... I really just want the items I ordered.

I ordered a tube amp from Monoprice. It was delivered exactly on time. At no fault of Monoprice one of the tubes was broken in shipping. I contacted Monoprice and in three days they had a new tube delivered at no cost and replaced and works perfectly. Thank you Monoprice

This place sucks. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Took my money, didn't tell me that my product was out of stock, better get my money back. Good thing I work for attorneys that would handle this for me at no cost.

Mini Party Speaker

Thier customer service is amazing what most companies lack nowadays. I was having some issues with my speaker they paid to have it shipped back and they shipped another back out to me all at the original cost of what i paid for the speaker. Their product is an amazing bluetooth party speaker. My whole family has made use of it... we take to the beach The cheer competition where we live has even used it... When I get a good deal I speak on it, as well as if I get a bad one.

They will not rescind an order even 15 min. After it is entered on a weekend (or any other time) You pay the shipping both ways on a returns and they do not make that clear when requesting a return ID label. Merchandise is no better, price is no better, and customer service is a concept utterly lost on them.
