The worst Bank ever
December 2, 2025

I don't understand why Governments use this card at all. I started unemployment in June 2025 & right from the start they were holding my money. So if you got an order from Walmart delivered to your house they put a hold on your card for a few dollars more just in case of substitution then right after it's dropped off at your door they lift your hold & charge your card the amount & lifts the hold at the same time. But this so called bank holds your money for 7-10 business days even though they pay them immediately. Same with gas station the card puts $75.00 hold on your card even though the card is charged right after you put the pump back onto the card only way to get that hold lifted is by having the company send a letter on letterhead by mail. Then it takes 2-5 business days for the hold to lift off. So they're making interest on your money. I'm lucky PNC Bank lets you use their ATM with no fees but MN charges you $3.00-$5.00 for it.
They tell you to go into the store & use the card & I did but they still put the hold on my card. So I can only use 1/2 of my money at a time.
The horrible customer service told me the first time it was because of I just got my card & for weeks it worked out but now they're doing it again. If you call CS they give you a song & dance about it & tell you to bad to sad not there problem. You just have to wait. If you complain they hold it the full 10 days or longer.
Call the BBB or the Consumer Protection Agency on fraud. Call your Government Agency & complain maybe if enough of people complain they'll find another company to handle this.
This so called Bank is a JOKE. They're just making money off your money.
If you're starting out on unemployment or something else find another company like PayPal they give you account numbers like a checking account & they lift your hold as soon as the vendor is paid.

To verify my account, I had to tell the the amount of last deposit, I read it straight from the EDD web site. They told me "sorry we can't verify who you are" Three times using each of the deposits edd had sent out! Then when trying to pay my car insurance I find out you can't make online payments! Who are they to tell me how I can spend my money? I couldn't even pay my driver's license renewal! Another government agency! Leave it to California to find another way to $#*! us!

This company has no fraud control regulations or awareness of what's going on with your account. I had 497 feet fraudulent activities, taking money out of my account. All within 1 day and they weren't even aware of any of it. I tried to stop it the day before it happened. And the guy on the phone was no help said he could not close. Or cancel my card or I put ahold on my account. Don't waste your Chinese. People are nonsense, they're not a financial institute. They're just a 2 partner in the industry that just taps money from one to another scary.

They'll be sarcastic, they don't listen and they don't know what they're doing. Seems like training is non-existent and they'll hire anyone. They will straight up ignore you or what your asking. 🤷🤦
Of course no one speaks fluent English. No one is nice or helpful. I don't think I've ever called with a problem and it was actually fixed or had a reasonable outcome. 🤨🙄Your call will be followed by a short survey at the end. If you seem upset or if they gave bad service (usually) then it'll hang up on you to ensure they don't have a bad survey 😂
They're trashy, sleezy and terrible company. EXTREMELY LAZY! I'd give it 0 stars if I could🤦

July 16, 2025

I CANNOT transfer my money out of this system! 1. IT FORCES ME TO SIGN IN A MILLION TIMES. 2. ONCE IM FINALLY IN IT REFRESHES THE TRANSFER PAGE. IT KEEPS TELLING ME TO DOUBLE CHECK THE INFO, IT'S ALL CORRECT, THE SAME OUTSIDE ACCT I'VE ALREADY TRANSFERRED TO BEFORE. 3. THEIR SUPERVISORS ARE NOT SUPERVISORS THEY HAVE NO AUTHORITY TO DO ANYTHING. 4. ESCALATIONS GO INTO THIN AIR AND YOU'RE NOT GUARANTEED A REPLY, WHEN THEY ARE NOT ALLOWING YOU TO TRANSFER YOUR MONEY, MAKE IT MAKE SENSE! 5. NO EMAIL OR CONTACT FORM WHATSOEVER SO YOU HAVE NO RECORD FOR YOURSELF WHAT WAS DISCUSSED WHAT THEY'RE DOING ABOUT IT AND SIMPLY THE ISSUE BECAUSE I COULD SEND THEM SCREEN RECORDING SO THEY CAN GET THEIR IT DEPARTMENT TO WORK ON IT. NOPE NO EMAIL OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. YOU JUST HAVE TO HOPE AND PRAY THINGS WILL BE WORKED ON. INSANE! 6. THERE WEBSITE IS TRASH ABSOLUTELY TRASH! It is absolutely ridiculous and for a government entity to choose to work this this establishment is astonishing! EDD You need to CHANGE BACK TO BOA OR ANOTHER REAL BANK BECAUSE THIS TERRIBLE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CUSTOMER VALUE AND SAFETY FOR THE CUSTOMERS MONEY IS UNREAL!

Customer Service is AWFUL. My UC benefits card is missing. I don't have card numbers. Cannot call customer service unless you have card numbers unless you're really clever and somehow manage to get passed the automation voice. Once I finally got through, I could not hear or understand a single word they were saying because of background noise. Said the couldn't re-issue me a card, and she gave me the number to the UC office of California. I live in Pennsylvania! She told me to call them when the Unemployment Office in PA tells me to call MoneyNetwork! They really need to rethink who they do their banking through because MoneyNetwork is next to absolutely useless in helping anyone find out what happened to their card.

Froze my assets and then told me they were not frozen. Hung up on me 11 times in 2 days as I had to BEG for them to not hang up - but they still did each time. By far the worst company I have ever dealt with. I celebrate moving all my funds today and closing the account for good. App is always broken, website does not function, employees are rude and incompetent. Please do not use this company by any means.

I actually sent in 4 my account was froze on Thursday may 29th my husband and I where out to dinner for our wedding anniversary when I went to use my card to pay my card declined several times I called they said my account was suspended/ froze because I needed to provide identity. I have 0 access to any of my money at all leaving me with nothing. Ive called several times asking whats going on they keep saying it takes 1 to 2 business days that the compliance department is the ones with the hold and nothing i can do! My payroll gets this deposited on Thursday my car insurance is due automatically comes out. This means I can't touch or get any of my money out of this account! This is so horrible I have kids and they're just holding my money.

I can not access my account. I've gotten the following error messages: 1. Required information missing
2. Incorrect password (its not)
3. We cannot reset your password because a temporary password is already in place. I contacted customer service. I was directed to call another number. The person didn't know how to help me. It's been about a year & I can't get in to my account.

Scammed by the best
April 7, 2025

An ATM at WaWa kept $400 of my money and after confirming that the money was counted in the PNC ATM this Scam bank Money Network will not return the money to my card. I called 4 times in the past week about a dispute form that they supposedly sent out a week ago and each time I was told it was in the US postal Mail service. I went and downloaded the form after days of trying to register my account and emailed it and now I'm being told it could take 45 days to have a provisional credit placed in my account. I have reached out them several times to confirm that they received the dispute form but they claim it didn't come through yet, meanwhile, the form they sent via mail is still floating in space. This is the worst banking experience I have ever had with any financial institution ever.

I am missing over $14,000 in government-issued EDD payments that were supposed to be deposited onto a Money Network prepaid card — and I haven't been able to access those funds since October 2024. This company provides no access to full transaction history, especially if your card was replaced. Even on an active card, you can only view the most recent 90 days, making it nearly impossible to confirm deposits, detect fraud, or retrieve records for taxes. There is no phone support, no email, and no secure portal. The only way to reach them is by physically mailing a letter to Georgia. I've filed complaints with the California Attorney General, Department of Financial Protection & Innovation, the BBB, and the police. Money Network is responsible for handling public benefit funds, yet offers zero transparency, zero accountability, and no clear path to recover lost payments. Avoid them if at all possible.

THEY'RE SCAMMERS!
March 6, 2025

So on on my pay day they decided to say that weird activity was happening on my account even though no one tried to use my card or make any type of transactions the app had been screwing up already for months at this point and I was told that they would have to issue me a new card and that it would take 7-10 business days and I asked if they could expedite the card since the issue was on their end they said no they couldn't do that then I asked if I could pay for it to be expedited and they still told me no WTF!?! So at that point I was done I said you know what please go ahead and close my account she said ok sure she put my on hold for about 10 minutes and closed my account and said a check of the account amount would be sent to my address on file that she read back to me and verified great

TWO WEEKS have gone by and I called to ask where my check was...they NEVER sent it they let it set in what was supposed to be my CLOSED account for two weeks and I again asked for it to be expedited because this is once again THEIR FAULT he said no and then told me it was going to take 10 TO 14 BUSINESS DAYS! I still haven't received my final check from these scammers and I plan on taking them to court I haven't been able to make my rent and bills on time because of this nonsense

IF YOU HAVE THIS APP TAKE OUT ALL OF YOUR MONEY AND CLOSE THE ACCOUNT! GET CHIME OR ANYTHING OTHER THEN THIS APP IT IS A SCAM AN INDIAN SCAM

I asked for my account to be closed on Jan 30th I got in the mail a letter saying my account has been closed but they worded it as if I didn't ask for it to be closed.but I still haven't received my check...

WTF!

I finally received my Money Network check this week. I had submitted a complaint through the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website regarding the issue of not receiving my mailed checks. This helped escalate the matter and ultimately led to the resolution of my issue.

Date of experience: March 1, 2025

My NJ FMLA account was created with Money Network (MN) bank in October 2024. When I tried to activate my account via their debit card, MN customer service informed me that my account was compromised and closed it. A check was issued for the account balance which I have not received to this day. The check was resent three times by them, but I did not receive a single one. I even told them that I would pay for a tracking service for the check, which they denied. I complained to NJ FMLA about this, but they said they could not help and that I would have to deal with MN myself. Also, Money Network is a mobile-only bank and does not have a single physical branch that I could visit in person to collect my check. MN is taking advantage of customers with disabilities, as they know they are the most vulnerable and don't have enough energy to continually deal with them.

Update:I finally received my Money Network check this week. I had submitted a complaint through the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website regarding the issue of not receiving my mailed checks. This helped escalate the matter and ultimately led to the resolution of my issue.

Absolutely useless. Waisting hours of time, on phone, online, and even on ATM with zero success to transfer my $250 middle class Cal Tax refund. Very disappointing and unbelievable that the state authorities picked such as crappy and useless service provider. To me it just looks like a fraud and a way to steal people's money. Shame on you.

Hopeless
February 19, 2025
Updated review

This service is hopeless. The app and the website are not fit for purpose and when I called up and speak to someone they were also useless. In all honesty you'd get better customer service from someone who doesn't speak English. All I want to do is transfer funds from Money Network to my checking account and that is impossible with this clown show. We never had this problem when Bank of America was running things. I would think that this is a deliberate ploy on the part of Money Network. This way they can collect a fee when we are forced to use the debit card.

Date of experience: February 19, 2025

Tried to use the app and the website, both are hopeless. Called customer service and that didn't resolve the problems either. The representative I spoke to told me that the entire system is essentially worthless and that he would have to send me a new card. I have little to no faith that the card will actually show up. In the meantime I have no access to my money. This was so bad I can only think that it's a deliberate company policy that's in place so they can hang onto our money for longer. I only wish I could award less than one star.
