I have purchased two SIM cards, one physical and one sim with a 3 month plan for me and my husband. Unfortunately, due to their employees incompetence, I wasn't able to install the eSim, and after two weeks of no service and talking every day to their employees, I have switched to AT&T and I was assured that the $90 I paid for my eSim will be given to my husband as a credit so we can actually use some service for the money we've prepaid. Three months later, his plan expired and not only we didn't get the credit but they just canceled his service. And now, all of a sudden, they cannot do a refund. I will file a complaint in the small claims court for my inconvenience and the time spent with no service, along with the $90 theft I have been suffered from them. I don't care even if Ryan Reynolds calls me personally to apologize - I WANT MY MONEY BACK! Now, they're suggesting me to read their refund policy, although I was promised over the phone to get a credit for the $90 I've spent, receiving zero service for that.
I signed up. Buy 3 months get 3 months free. I signed up for 2 phones. About $220. You pU upfront. I had to go to Best Buy 3 times bad sometimes cads. Temp Sims they can't convert them to a paid account...
It took 2.5 weeks to get my service right. I said it was terrible. They offered me a 1 month credit. 6 months later they gave me a $30 credit. 2 phones 1 month is $40 x 2 $80. Save your texts I had to text for 6 months to get the credit. I signed up with 2 phones same day. They shut my wife's phone off saying the renewal date differed.
Well after ongoing problems the company is all AI. No real customer service, no mgmt no real structure. Ongoing problems couldn't even pay the compa y to renew my plan. I hate them but tried to kick the can down the road and use my credit.
Due to poor service I left. They offered me 3 months free I said not worth it and lost my $30 credit. Not worth it.
After I left they had the nerve e to bill my card automatically after I was gone.
This was the short version. Not worth it even for free.
I accidently broke my phone so I went to purchase a new phone and plan through mint mobiles website on 7/18/2023. Go to the website and place a plan with the phone in the cart. As I go to check out I click the place order button and the webpage pauses slightly refreshes and does not appear to have gone through. Naturally I hit it again and this time it works. The following morning I wake up and see two separate orders from mint mobile in my account for the same amount *images attached as proof*. No big deal, mint mobile has a 7 day return policy so i called their live customer service agent and they said they would handle it no problem. A few hours went by and I did not see any email regarding this refund process being started which I thought was kinda weird in my experience with online retailers. I went to their website and spoke with their fox chat agent and they advised me it would take 24-48 hours for the ticket to go through the system. Alright no big deal I wait 48 hours still no response that any sort of refund attempt has been started. I then call their customer service again explaining the issue. The customer service rep puts down the phone 2-3 times for 4 minute intervals which is not a great sign. They finally came back saying that the refund request was submitted but it would be another 8 hours for me to have some sort of confirmation via email that it was being handled. Now I understand slow ticket times and company policy. I understand mistakes happen and I take accountability for my part. But as a new customer with an online retailer when you have taken a decent amount of money you expect me to wait days for some sort of confirmation that you're working on it with nothing more than a word to mouth? Especially with a time sensitive 7 day refund policy? Due to my frustration I told the rep I would cancel both my orders and would like to go with another provider. Side note I felt really bad for the last customer service rep I spoke with because she genuinely did seem empathetic to the situation.
*I have contacted my bank, paypal and the BBB**
*update**
A few hours after the final phone call I did finally receive a response from someone on their time letting me know it's being handled but it took way too much effort just for that.
TLDR Mint mobile looks amazing from a price standpoint but my customer service experience was so miserable I went elsewhere.
Mint got me to sign up a few of my friends. Service was great. Collecting on the benefits of brining my friends along for the ride was wonderful until Mint decided to reneg on its commitment to give a benefit for bringing them to the party. Excuse after excuse, customer service calls after calls, they don't want to actually follow through with their word. Honestly, If this happens to you too, you should file with the FTC for fraudulent claims. Maybe someone will finally do something about their false advertising and unscrupulous business.
THESE GUYS ARE HORSES REAR ENDS! They stole $80.83 from me and refuse to give it back. I've contacted the bank and Visa about it and they all said "nothing we can do, it's up to Mint." If you want nonexistent customer service go with mint.
I bought international roaming service and it didn't work from the second I arrived in the country. Once I got back the US I tried to get a refund and they told me they won't do it because I didn't contact them right when it wasn't working. So Im somehow supposed to contact them to tell them my service isn't working when I don't have service to contact them? I even have a screen recording of me trying to use their app (to contact them no less) and it not working. Complete scam, I'm leaving immediately.
Review of MintMobile:
I recently had a very disappointing experience with Mint Mobile, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts to warn others about their customer service. Initially, I was on the $15/month plan, which I found to be quite reasonable and suitable for my needs.
However, my dissatisfaction began when they unexpectedly renewed my plan for three months at an exorbitant cost of $82.40 – a staggering 83% increase from my original plan. Naturally, I was not pleased with this sudden and significant price hike, so I decided to contact their customer service for clarification.
To my dismay, the representatives assured me that I was entitled to a full refund and that my service would be disconnected starting the following day. Relying on their promise, I decided to port my number to another provider, specifically AT&T, in order to avoid further complications.
I took the customer service representatives at their word, believing that I would receive my refund and be free from their service. However, to my disbelief, when I called Mint Mobile a few days later to inquire about my refund status, they denied any such agreement and claim.
As a result, I found myself in a distressing situation where I had already paid for almost six months of service with Mint Mobile, despite my service being ported to AT&T for less than two weeks.
This experience has left me utterly disappointed and frustrated with Mint Mobile's customer service. Their failure to honor their promises and the subsequent denial of any agreement has been nothing short of a letdown.
Therefore, I strongly advise others to approach Mint Mobile's customer service with caution and skepticism. I cannot, in good faith, recommend their services to anyone, as my own experience has been marred by their untrustworthiness and lack of integrity.
In conclusion, please be wary of Mint Mobile's customer service and think twice before committing to their plans. There are plenty of other reputable service providers out there that offer better customer care and honest practices.
No problems at sign-up. I brought my own phone. Yesterday my connection went on and off all day. I, of course, turned it off and on-didn't work-removed and reinserted sim card-still didn't work. Called customer service and then IT tech. After some investigation, he found that the cell tower had been damaged and he switched towers for me. Problem fixed. After nightmare service at other companies, I was so happy to have this fixed the first time we called. Love Mint and recommend it to everyone. Great job-great employees.
We recently traveled to Canada, paid for international service beforehand, could not get our phones to work. Called Mint several times, finally got one phone working, but they used all our roaming money. Very dissatisfied, going to switch cell phone coverage.
I got tricked by $15 unlimited so I paid 3 month, turns out $40 is paying 3 month ahead, I was paying $33 and had balance on my phone, I paid that in full only to find their Bait and switch strategy, and now I cannot event have their agent to cancel my number transfer, awful experience, do not make the same mistake.
I have been with mint mobile for over a year, the last 2 months of my plan I upgraded to the unlimited plan, after that I began to have problems. When I upgraded to the unlimited plan the app showed what hotspot data was used, I asked the Rep before I got off the phone and they said not to worry about it, I said OK. 2 weeks later my hotspot showed I uses 10GB then my phone wouldn't work. I called them and they dis nothing about it, they said I would have to wait until the next month, I told them again I'm not using a hotspot and I've never set it up so that's impossible. I am now on my last month of the 12 month plan I bought and it shows I've used 1GB of hotspot (I have been out of town for the last 10 days and my phone has been off) I called mint mobile 2 more times today and they keep telling me the same thing (they are going to escalate the ticket) but they never do I've called atleast 10 times in 2 months. They never do what they say mint mobile is a rip off and they will steal your data you pay for! Stay away!
We had the account 12 days, the phone worked for maybe 2 of those days. They randomly shut the account down twice making me call in to try and get it fixed, all while our daughter was away in another city without a way to contact us. The second time we called to figure out what was going on they gave us the complete runaround. Between myself and my husband calling/texting for several hours and being shuffled back and forth we finally landed with a manager (only by demanding it and not letting the agent put us on hold until the manager came on, as THEY WILL LEAVE YOU ON HOLD FOREVER).
The manager finally said that he initiated a full refund and that we would receive an email confirmation within 24-48 hours. Four days later we called back, got the complete runaround AGAIN, and was told that the agent on the line couldn't see any notes or anything that something was initiated.
MINT MOBILE IS CRAP, FULL OF LYING AGENTS WHO JUST WANT TO GET RID OF YOU, AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS.
Save yourself BOATLOADS of stress and hours and hours of your life wasted trying to communicate with them and DO NOT USE THEM.
Live mobile has been nothing but a headache can't get a hold of anybody to give me a network pass code cuz their card is locked put my old SIM card in not locked they refuse to help
This bait & switch company worked fine for the first 30 days. Then, you guessed it, the minute the 30 day trial switched over to 3 month plan suddenly my selected plan with 2 lines became double the cost. When you try to call "customer service" you way forever to speak with someone overseas who barely speaks English and can only read the lame responses on the Mint website. Don't get started on the experience we are currently having on our vacation in Italy. We were told to purchase "credits" to use while abroad. No one would define what the credits amounted to when every other reputable carrier has a flat day rate. Still, stupidly, I purchased credits that were not successful to use ANY transaction. Not calls, not texts, not GPS. Then when I waste an hour of my vacation on their stupid chat, they have the nerve to tell me that I have been using roaming credits. Basically, the "attempts" to use my service were considered using roaming! They fraudulently charged me for service they didn't provide. Then said they must be low connectivity "areas" despite everyone around me happily using their cell service with 0 difficulties.
Been with mint for a long time but after requesting unlocked code the Filipina customer service asking for my order number how would I remember that? Hello it's been 3 years
Mint Mobile might be cheaper than other phone plans, but it is not worth it. The eSIM activation link only works one time. If something happens (i.e. Your Wi-Fi cuts out in the middle of activation, or you accidentally close the tab), you will not be able to activate the eSIM using this method. This happened to me, so I was on the phone with multiple people for an entire afternoon to find an alternate way to activate my eSIM and connect my two accounts into one family account. They helped me use a manual activation method for my eSIM, but after this, connecting my two accounts into one family account required usage of the Mint Mobile app, and this app refused to work for me. It wouldn't let me create an account, so I had to create one through the website instead. But even after doing this, the app wouldn't let me log into my account. I've never had any issues with SIM activation or family accounts with any previous phone carriers I've used. This process has always taken just a few minutes, but at Mint, it took an entire afternoon, and the experience was beyond stressful for me. The customer service was incredibly incompetent, and at times, rude. At one point, the customer service rep threatened to hang up on me. They need to fix their technical issues and improve their customer service.
Okay, so my previous review was written in great frustration and still think this company while offering good value is goofy; to reset my password I had to wait for a recovery code to come
To me while I'm on their site, but it was confusing because it kept saying: resending code with a 60 seconds count down, but it was actually sending it for the first time. The wording was confusing since I had not requested another code.
Resend, to send again is how I interpret resend.
Buyer beware switching plans to this ridiculous company. I've been with Verizon for 23 years finally got tired of paying their bill, switched to Mint May 4th 2023 have had nothing but problems for 55 days with not receiving incoming text messages, had to cancel service. I have a Galaxy S21 plus that has been unlocked by Verizon and the phone still does not work with Mint mobile and they were completely clueless on how to fix the issue and I know I'm not the only one that's had this problem..
First off, this is the worst mobile carrier I have ever had. You definitely get what you pay for. I barely get any signal in the middle of a city. It makes no sense. I came over from Verizon to save money. That was the only reason. I am now going back to Verizon. I need my account number and pin from Mint to transfer back to another carrier. They don't give you that information without having to contact them. But when you try to contact them, you are waiting for hours. I have been trying to contact someone since yesterday. By phone, by chat...it doesn't matter. No one answers! They must think we have all day to wait around for them to respond. It's only because I'm leaving that they do this. If you are new to the service, someone is there to help immediately. I tell everyone I know to never use Mint Mobile simply because of the poor signal. And now the poor service is just the crap cherry on top.
I've been trying to get my account number to go away from Mint mobile it's been 3rd day today. I've been contacting them via Chat and customer care number *******392). Almost 4 hours and no response either side. When I choose option to join as a new customer within 10 minutes person name (Jana) came online. As soon as I told that I am looking for the account number, she disappeared and never come back.
I wanted to keep my existing number to port on the other service provider. Life is become "hell" with this Mint customer service...
Answer: NO, NO, NO! They have limited hours, even for "chat help". If and when you get ahold of someone, they're inconsistent, inconsiderate, robotic, and they have no record of your previous attempts to get resolution! They make you start all over from the beginning each and every time. Plus, they LIE to you when they say it's "all taken care of."
Answer: If they're legit, I'd like to see them prove it. No brick & mortar, mostly robots and simps for support. No wonder Ryan Reynolds took the money and ran!
Answer: Yes us mobile is better if u can use CDMA type phone on the Verizon system it is faster although it is nothing to jump up and down about it is better.
