Microsoft Reviews Summary

Microsoft's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to its inadequate customer service. Many users report frustrating experiences with long hold times, unresponsive support, and unresolved issues, leading to feelings of neglect and disrespect. While the company's product quality and range receive praise, the inconsistencies in delivery and support leave much to be desired. Complaints about account access, data loss, and perceived censorship further exacerbate frustrations. Overall, while Microsoft offers valuable products, a critical need for improved customer service and communication is evident to enhance user experience and trust.

Canceled the subscription and they refuse to refund me my money. This company has criminal practices and I will go absolutely out of my way to avoid using them in any type of situation.

Worse than useless.
March 16, 2022

Microsoft calculator uses scientific notation, because all Windows 10 users are scientists, right? Online support assumes you want to spend all day reading complaints and incomprehensible internal jargon, but they never intend to fix the problem. On a 1-5 scale of user-unfriendliness and downright sadism, Microsoft gets a six. Everyone knows or suspects that such complaints produce only laughter among Microsoft employees and NEVER result in fixing the problem. The issue is, if you have a problem with any Microsoft product, their website will drag you into an all-day conflict to accomplish something that should have been fixed BY THEM in five minutes, and at the end of the day, you will find that they do not intend to fix the problem at all. Kneel before Microsoft!

My husband has been dead for 1.5 years and I still can't get Microsoft to stop billing me for Microsoft 365. I donated his computer to charity so it was wiped clean. They tell me I need to access his private email address, find a code they sent to it, and then use that code to cancel the subscription. Since I can't access that email account, but they can detect that he no longer uses his computer plus I sent Microsoft a death certificate, why won't they cancel the annual renewal? I have spent hours and hours trying to get them to stop the subscription. I gave up on trying to get reimbursed, I just don't want to get charged yet again. I will not cancel the credit card, why should I have to do that? So, my advise is to not sign u for automatic renewal billing, turning it off is a pain and Microsoft is not a decent company. I also had to stop automatic payments from McAfee and a couple other companies, it was easy and they even refunded the last automatic payment they received. Tells you a lot about the corporate culture of Microsoft!

So apparently, buying the computer means that Microsoft and keep control of somethings. I spent the last hour trying to change the owner ship from Microsoft to myself. I mean I did buy the damn thing. My issue is I have no control over my Lock Screen, I personally don't like looking at the photos Microsoft provides, and I wanted to change it. So I look it up and follow the directions up until it asks me to click on "personalize Lock Screen" because that's not I'm my control for some reason. So I look up how to gain control. And I follow the steps till it tells me to go to "registry editor" because its like they deleted every way I had to try and get control of this stupid thing. Trust me I tried 3 ways, and every one of them had a dead end. I think it's very unreasonable to charge me 700-1000 bucks on a computer that doesn't give me all the features I'm paying for and now, every time I open my computer I have some random photos. Please change this because it is very annoying to deal with. I shouldn't have many unfixable issues with my computer.

Too Much Control
February 27, 2022

Microsoft has way too much control over the PC market. I am so tired of the constant ads showing up on my PC for Microsoft products. I don't want your damn software, xbox, gift cards, game pass, apps, and everything else you try to throw down my throat. Something needs to be done to stop their control over what I see on MY PC.

Though I will admitt I was messaging a player in my own defense with my personal choice of context. But nothing threatening of the sorts. Just name calling. But wouldnt anybody if an online game hacker was harrassing you? Okay then. So because of that I got suspended therefore I could still game but Cannot message NOBODY. Then the following day I'm in the middle of gaming and OUT OF NOWHERE my whole account got banned permanently but stated they can't give me details as to reasons why. But the last message I got from that hacker was "how's that coming ban?"... seems to me Microsoft is very easy to manipulate and hack for other players to steal from your wallet and mess up your account. They have this "community standard" but I wonder what that is? They can't even protect people's accounts that people are PAYING them to have? Not only does Microsoft gyp you for your money but they don't have customer service line nor do they protect your account.

Microsoft wont help
February 21, 2022

Microsoft is not interested in helping customers. Like some other technology companies, i suspect they loose track of the fact that their knowledge sets, in building pcs and other technology, is not everybody's, that there are different types of consumers, with different goals and needs, and they make no effort to accommodate.
In my case, in 2021, I am returning to them an Xbox Series S that I have just purchased. I found the process of installing the damn thing overly complicated. I had to download an app to my phone. That's a strike right there, if the console can't be used without also owning several other gadgets, then it is already failing to be a universally accessible gadget.
Eventually, through trial and error I was able to set it up, and then learned that it could not be made to work with the 360 discs I already owned. Despite signficant advertising of the device as "backwards compatible" there is no way that a person moving entirely from disc based console playing to this device can continue to use their game library.
I don't mind learning new games eventually, but my first goal in buying this device was continuity. And it absolutely failed that mark.
Now, you might say that this is user error. It certainly was. I bought the X Box S hoping I could make it work for me, knowing that there was no way for me to buy a device that had a disc drive. So I hoped I could make this work. I was in error.

If Microsoft had also made some effort to overcome the problems for consumers that currently prevent me from buying an Xbox X, it would be solely my error. But Microsoft has made no recourses available for me, doesn't seem to be interested in making options that meet my needs available, and seems not to be interested in protecting consumers from the issues that online bots create, in limiting consumer choice.

1 star for Microsoft.

I HATE YOU MICROSOFT
February 18, 2022

I don't understand how to get these losers off my back. I WILL NEVER PAY FOR 365, nor do I care at all about saving anything on a cloud anywhere. I'm so sick of them trying to force me to use pins, to use their trash Edge, why they think it's ok to change my entire home page from my settings and files to come in and instead see they ran some POS update that instead moved all my files to where they feel is best and put a bunch of apps and crap that I never asked for and will NEVER use. I feel like it's a witch hunt, I'm so sick of them getting into all of my business. Just leave me alone and my antiquated systems alone.

POOR Customer Service

Have had MSFT for two weeks now and their new "online" help and recovery is pathetic. Multi-billion dollar company/monopoly fails when it comes to human resources and reasonable requests. Starts with the Eps. Island executive(s) at the top.

I am so sick of software companies whose software SUCKS THIS BADLY!
Microsoft word is a piece of $#*! and I wish there were other better alternatives for this crap.
I am sick of companies that think they're so special that everyone has to use their product even if it is the worst, crappiest, software that exists. Microsoft sucks and I hate them. Never before have I worked with something so unsupportive and downright unreliable.

Lost Surface
January 25, 2022

What a nightmare! I ordered a Microsoft Surface for my daughter. It didn't work, so I sent it back to get a replacement. Then the replacement worked for a mere two weeks before it wouldn't power on any longer. Microsoft sent a shipping label to send it back to the company for ANOTHER replacement. After being assured it would be there in 3-5 business days, the replacement never showed up. Every time I called the rep told me it was on the way and should be there any day. Now, three weeks later, I don't have a replacement and Microsoft is now telling me they never got the laptop. Then why did they tell me they had? I've now spent at least 15 hour on the phone with no positive outcome. I'm now out $500 with no laptop and no replacement on the way. I will NEVER buy a microsoft product ever again.

This company had me waiting for 2 hours and never came bake to help they are cowards, and they stopped telephone help like everyone else no good. Tell you why they're a technical team and Microsoft has big problems with their activation, many people are having issues. We should all stick together and don't use Microsoft until they get their phones working again that will not happen. Let them keep stepping on us.

Poor delivery service
December 30, 2021

I bought the Surface Book 3 on 29/11/2021. But the item was not delivered within 5-6 business days. Hence I contacted the support team and they advised the item will be dispatched on 29/12/2021. On 29/12/2021 I received a tracking no with a expected delivery date 30/12/2021. But when I enquired the status of the delivery on 30/12/2021, I was informed by the Microsoft support that the item not yet handed over to DHL express and delivery could be any time after 2/01/2022.

Hence for all the delay and hassle made me really disappointed with the poor service Microsoft offered. I won't buy anything from Microsoft store if the services are not improved in future.

How?
December 18, 2021

How? I wish I knew. I'm talking about "How can I give a Microsoft Review?" Well frankly I don't know because I tried every way possible and Microsoft goes to great extents to make sure that you can't. This is just one more reason why Anyone that has any sense at all goes with Apple. I'm strictly an Apple user but I needed to look up an old Live account. Absolutely impposible. Long live Apple.
