About a month ago my Huawei P30 lite did an Android update. After the update, my sons games didn't want to work. So after a lot of research I found out that the games where no longer compatible with the latest Android version. The most common solution was to do a Roll back to the Previous version of Android. The only thing I did not know at the time was that a Roll back actually meant a whole new fresh installation and that my phone will be wiped. At the time I did not know that I needed my gmail password to set up the phone again. For more than 10 years I have been using the same 2 email accounts to recover a password. I used gmail to recover my Hotmail and Hotmail to recover gmail. Unfortunately I didnt know this and then my phone was locked. In the past, whenever I did a factory reset on any of my Android devices it was resetting the phone to its original factory state. Now, because of all the phone theft, google thought they where very clever and introduced a security measure. If you reset your phone, the only way to get back into it, is to use the last gmail account password that was linked to the device. So that was it, my phone was blocked. It costed me to take it to the local cellphone shop to get that rubbish removed. After sitting without my phone for 2 weeks, I got it back. But now I sit and I dont know what the 2 password are. I have tried contacting microsoft about it, but microsoft is completely useless! They want money to help me to get my account back. When I told them I wont pay for someone to make a few clicks, microsofts call centre agent came up with the lie and said that they cant help me and that I must recover my password with the forget password option. This I have tried over and over and over until I was blue in the face. Every time microsofts stupid bot told me that unfortunately I havent given them enough information to prove it my account. I told the morons by microsoft that my hotmail account has been linked to my facebook profile for more than a decade and common sense dictates that if I was able to link it to my facebook profile, I should of had access to the hotmail account to be able to link it to my facebook account. BUT like all big companies, microsofts greed always wins and they are not interrested in helping people. I really wish there was alternatives to microsoft and google. These companies buy up everyones ideas and small tech companies and add it to their umbrella of GREED! They cant write their own software, so they buy up small companies. Then they automate everything because they are too cowardly to talk to the public. They can spy on everyone, like criminals in the night, but they have no backbones to listen to the people who are forced to use their software, because there is currently no alternatives. They have the whole world in a choke hold, forcing everyone to use their software, FULL OF SPYWARE, and no one can do anything to take them on, because of their billion dollar company status. YOU SUCK GOOGLE AND MICROSOFT!

I have also exhausted all the same options with trying to retrieve my gmail password, but was not able to. In more than a decade, when I migrated from one phone to another phone, I used the 2 accounts to retrieve the passwords and then linked them again to the new phones. You suck Google! Changing security features and then not making it public. I am sure a lot of people has lost accounts this way.

The main reason why I am so upset is because I have 4 children who I love very much and all of their birth videos and photo's was linked to my google picture account, which was linked to gmail. Everyone says upload your unreplaceable pictures to the cloud to keep them save. NOW MY IRREPLACEABLE PICTURE OF MY CHILDRENS LIVES IS LOST IN THE CLOUDS! Neither microsoft nor google is willing to help. GREED is the only fuel for them and I wont pay some moron to make a few clicks with his mouse to send me a link to reset my password.

Last year in November and December, both my wife and I lost our jobs. We where retrenched and I was home until middle May 2021. My wife is still at home and we are really struggling to get her a job. There is just no new jobs. We lost our car after making 3 years of payments. Our water was cut off by the municipality. My children had to eat maize meal porridge for 6 months. Now that I found a job and we are trying to recover from this massive knock in life, microsoft just wants to rip me off even more. I understand that it is not their fault that I can not get into my account, but they are just not willing to help. The same for Google. Atleast I was able to get hold of microsoft. After searching for email addresses, I found a few media email addresses and I started sending multiple emails in the hope that one of them will send it to someone who can help. Microsoft eventually called me from texas and said sorry, we cant help. GREED is our friend and we dont give a hoot if you cant get into your account.

I have not tried to send out so many emails with google, because I cannot find any email addresses to send anything to. But I am sure that even if I was able to contact google, they will also be just as motivated by GREED, and wont help. So I have desided to take this to the internet and blast it all over the internet. If they wont help me, I will post this message on every forum and complaints page I can find. I dont have a lot of hobbies and will make this my new hobby. Even If it takes me 10 years to create the awareness on google and microsofts GREED!

After years and years as a operating system master of Windows XP, I decided to buy a newer computer for my own use with updated specs and it came with Windows 10 professional.

So please note, I have multiple MS certifications and am beyond master rated with legacy systems.

I knew Win 10 was going to be different. I was prepared for that. What I was not prepared for was all the 999 ways Microsoft ensured itself that no person regardless of their certifications would ever be able to manage that system outside of ANY predetermined Microsoft directives.

SECURITY?

NO. This OS has more back doors for spyware and adware than anything I have ever seen. I have re-written registry values to alter that but guess what, WINDOWS KEEPS WRITING THEM BACK.

The worst was/is the hard drive that came with the machine was not big enough so I needed to make a copy of my system onto another drive and install that in its place. I have done this HUNDREDS OF TIMES with other operating systems and can do it blindfolded.

OH NO, not now. SO far I have used 5-7 different softwares that are supposed to be able to do this and actually do this well with every other operating system I have seen but this one.

SO WHAT DO YOU DO?

Hard drives go bad. And yes solid state drives have a built in decomposition factor because there is no way the mega $$$ system is going to give you anything remotely like a forever product.

Storage space is always of issue as well. I have needs on 2 separate fronts 1) as a pc technician and 2) has a pc gamer.

Older pc games took small spaces and 50 gb could hold 15-20 entire games easily. HOWEVER since around 2014 pc games have become expansive and one recent one I installed is 24 gb all by itself.

So here I was with need for more space and bought another hard drive that should have been the end of this problem HOWEVER Microsoft is so paranoid delusional that every single person on earth is out to steal their products that there is 0 allowance.

That is my nightmare with this OS. Sadly enough for MANY it is far worse.

As of this writing date there have been almost 10,000 release versions of Windows 10. In that entire lot only MAYBE 5 SUPPORT ACTUALLY MIGRATING YOUR OLD STUFF ONTO THE NEW ONE.

This means you have windows xp, 7, 8, 8.1 and you want to upgrade but need all your files and folders and stuff.

SO EXCEPT FOR THOSE 5 SPECIAL RELEASES, WHAT HAPPENS IS MICROSOFT BEING A THING FROM HELL DECIDED TO NUKE ALL YOUR STUFF AND OVER WRITE EVERYTHING WITH THE NEW OS.

WTH IS THAT ALL ABOUT?

In the pc tech world we call that microsofts revenge. Revenge for what know one seems to be able to grasp.

I can tell you, if you can, get a another hard drive and install one of the newest LINUX versions.

There are 2 of these that have made an impression on me and I have to say I was a WINDOWS GUY TO THE CORE.

But you can download and burn either of these for 100% FREE and install them onto a fresh hard drive.

1) LINUX MINT 18/19/20 (version 18, ver 19, or ver 20 they label them by the year of release)

2) LINUX FEDORA

Both of these use totally new file systems known as Debian 3 and Debian 4 which are much smaller footprint than what windows uses.

I did this recently because I was totally upset at all this crap I was dealing with regarding Windows 10.

I installed Mint. It looks very clean and similar to form and function to windows 10 so if you have a grasp of windows 10 at all you will do fine.

There is a MADE FOR LINUX OFFICE SUITE that is 100% FREE called Open Office and you get that by going to OpenOffice.org

Linux isn't quite a gamers operating system at this point but several vendors are working on that and one of them is STEAM which happens to be the world's largest pc gaming content site on the planet so there is hope eventually.

Its just really sad that Windows 10 has such a REALLY REALLY LOW total market share and its so abysmal that people are opting out of pc's and just relying on smart fones.

I cant really see this changing either. Some say its all a mass new world order conspiracy. Some say its uncle sam taking more and more control. Some say its just the pursuit of the almighty $$$, and others say its just corporate abuse over the customer base rooted in ignorance and malfeasance.

I have heard the side presented and frankly ALL OF THEM have merit. FAR MORE MERIT. Than I am personally comfortable with.

A footnote to this: Microsoft was ORDERED BY THE U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO SUPPORT WINDOWS VISTA UNTIL 2021 AND WINDOWS 7 UNTIL 2024.

What happened to that? Most of us would be more than happy with windows 7 at this point, but then microsoft would no longer have ALL THAT CONTROL.

Buyer beware because when you purchase windows 10, you suddenly have WINDOWS TO HELL.

I am writing this to warn people, and to save you from a lot of frustration. Now I am obviously super mad because I can not use a 1200Dollar device and it is not even my fault. Actually, it is the fault of a Microsoft support agent. More to that at the end.

My first advice is to not listen to YouTube reviewers. You never know until you use it in real life environment.

So I purchased a Surface Pro 4 about 1 year ago. I chose the Surface because I am an artist, and I was looking for a pen enabled device.

The Surface seemed perfect. I watched all kinds of Youtube reviews and everyone was impressed. I thought not much could I do wrong.

The first thing that disappointed me was the pen. Yes, the one thing I was looking for the most.

The pens shape and size

It just did not feel nice. Look at Wacom and Apple. They know what it should feel like.

But if it is just about feel, you can get used to it.

Pen buttons

Missing the second button. No configuration possible. Useless erase button. With no second button and customize feature, useless for artists who want to use Zbrush for instance.

Line accuracy

Drawing diagonal lines shocked me so much, I just could not believe they are allowed to sell this piece of junk. Diagonal lines are so jaggy, it was literally useless for me. Putting a plastic sheet on top of the screen helped with the drawing feel but still. I ended up using a Wacom tablet with the Surface. Great isn't it? So Pen was out.

Camera and Touch keyboard

So the Face login would start failing after a few days and it would prompt for PIN login. Never mind. But the Keyboard? I could not write a single sentence without typos. The worst touch keyboard ever used. So I bought a Bluetooth keyboard. Not the Microsoft one as I think it is way overpriced. Also as an artist I like to have my keyboard a little off the way.

Screen flicker

Just recently, strangely enough right after my Warranty expired, my screen started to flicker whenever I used the CPU or GPU a lot. Up to a degree where text was not readable anymore. Vey frustrating as I always had to cool down before I could continue working. Lost a lot of time as I am freelance.

So I decided to contact the support. When you visit the Microsoft support website, you get that ridiculous Virtual Agent. I mean that thing is so useless, it must be made for dumb people. So I choose Surface Pro, and Technical issue. It then gave me a screen showing that my warranty has expired. No other option or choice. Sort of like GAME OVER! So I decided to first go through Windows support. At least I could then talk to a real person. It was a huge mistake. So I tried to explain my problem, and he kept telling me it was a driver problem. But I knew it wasn't because it would also flicker in the BIOS. So he asked me to update to a different driver and restart. In order to reconnect, he gave me a reconnect link to him. After a restart, the link gave me an error. And the flicker problem was still there... of course. Next agent. I explain everything again, try to make him understand it is not a drivers problem. He then remotely connects to my PC and does a few things. Then restarts without even giving me a re-connect link. Of course, I never saw him again. The problem still not fixed. Next several days this disaster repeated and even got worse. The next guy told me to contact the Surface Support. He gave me a link, but I told him, that link would lead me to the Virtual Agent again which is of no help. He said he will remote connect to my PC and connect to the Surface Support for me. I took a video of this because I knew he would not find it. And, indeed, he was clicking all over the website, and did not find what he was looking for. I wrote him, believe me now? You guys don't even know your own website. He must have got embarrassed and simply disconnected without a word. Great staff Microsoft. After about 20 Support agents, the final blow came. The next guy told me to disable all Services from the msconfig and restart. I already thought "hmm?" And I told him, I am pretty sure it is a hardware issue. Nevertheless, I restarted... and bang. Cannot log in anymore. The login window simply does not appear. If I wait for 20 minutes or so, it will come but won't accept my password. Camera login also doesn't work probably because of the deactivated services. I contact another Support agent, and he was actually nice. I tried the repair startup via USB recovery image but get an Error. I tried reactivating the services using the command prompt from the startup menu, but it does not work either. So basically I tried everything I could think of. The end of the story, all my client's data is lost. I do my backups once a week, so about 50% is lost. It will cost me a fortune and I don't even have a Surface anymore which means I have to buy a new device. Be assured it won't be a Microsoft product anymore. The worst support ever. Another funny thing is that all the names of those agents were fake English names when it was clear from their English that they were Indians or whatever. I will also be doing a Youtube video showing that video of how he tried to find the Surface Support. This just needs to be shown to the world.

This evening around 7:40PM friday I received a call from a company that handles Microsoft problems. Microsoft noticed that my computer had over 56,000 errors, my computer was automatically notifying Microsoft. Well this company called me and said we will get rid of all the errors and will put in place a microsoft antivirus and a cleaner that will take care of my computer for the rest of the life of the computer. They were very nice and I was watching them fly around my computer and I thought WOW this is a great thing they are doing. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, the second person came on and said it would cost me $200.00 for these two programs for the rest of the life of the computer. Here I thought they were going to do this and since there was no mention of money when this call started, this call lasted for nearly one hour and when I told them that I could not afford $200.00 for I am on a fixed income, I am a senior citizen age 70 and also a veteran and see if they would waive the fee. Really, I could not afford that price so they said I could pay 100 now and then next month another 100, I said I could not so they then said you can pay us $60 and we will clean up your computer but will not put a cleaner program on my computer. I told them that for all the help they wanted to do for me and without the mention of money I was going to notify sitejabber how great they are and would gladly mention them to others for the thoughtfulness that they gave there customers. The next thing I hear is she hung up on me and that was that. I have not had any problems with my computer at all. I have been doing my best to protect my computer and still feel that I am ok. I have a tablet and have been using it more and more without any problems there either. I just loved how they set you up and then let you fall. No money no honey. What a really nice company they are (NOT).

Windows 8 is an improvement.
