I have proof of shipping the item, and the buyer hasn't received it because it got lost in the mail and was never scanned in. So since I have proof of shipping (via receipt), you'd think that they would give you the funds and refund the buyer, but no. They said well the buyer can cancel any time they would like now, and I hope your item is found. POSHMARK IS WAY BETTER. If you want good customer service and insurance on your items, poshmark will take care of you. Yeah, they take an extra 10% but every issue I've had with packages not arriving, or shipping issues, they've taken care of it.
This app promotes fraud. I found a listing for Bose headphones that cost $400 brand new. Someone posted it for $159 on the app sealed. The box looked like a counterfeit and the price didnt make sense for a brand new headphones worth almost 3 times more. So I started questioning the person about the headphones. Why they were selling at the price and if something was wrong. As I was asking more questions I got a message saying the person blocked me. When I went on their page this person had been selling over 20 items that all looked fake and didnt make sense at the price. Like brand new beats for $50. I tried to contact Mercari about the person but they had no report button and they dont have a customer service number. This app promotes fraud and unsuspecting customers are probably buying a lot of counterfeit items.
I think the title says it all. I ordered an item for my girlfriend from Mercari on 7/14, and after a week I still hadn't gotten notification that the item had shipped, so I logged into my account to check the status, hoping to contact the seller for a tracking number, or at least see when the item was due to ship, if it hadn't already. Upon checking the item status, I was greeted with an unapologetic, unexplained notice that "This transaction has been cancelled." Nothing more. What's incredibly annoying about this is that I never received an email to alert me (yes, I checked spam, and my filtered folders), meaning I had no clue that my girlfriend's birthday present was never actually going to be delivered. Adding to my annoyance, I couldn't find anywhere in their so-called "Help Center" to express what awful practice this is, how I was never going to use their service again without some assurance that this would never happen again (and a discount on a future order wouldn't hurt). The "Contact Us" feature on their site just routes you to a bunch of FAQs, making it impossible to actually "contact" them at all. A truly awful, frustrating experience. I will never order anything from Mercari again, hands down.

WILL NEVER use Mercari again. They withheld my funds from me (300 dollars) and then later deleted my account because I would not provide them with my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER for "ID verification". At least give people their money back if you are going to shut down their account. What a scam! And so upsetting because I had bought and received so many nice things on this site. Will eventually be contacting BBB about this because this is a scam site and I want my money they refused to send back to me. I can't believe people are still using this app. I would rate it no stars if I could. I can't believe they ask for info like this. I hope no one is giving it to them because that is something you never give out. Especially to a selling app! What a joke.

I've been using p-mark but decided to try Mercari since many ppl mention it. Sold an item, at discount, print the label. I go to drop off and the shipping company they specified refuses to ship. No option to change or update lable. I guess they learned not to do business with Mercari. I had anothrr user hit on me. And the admins delete msgs as they like. I let the seller know package was refused - Mercari deleted it. Like, really? It's complete BS

This website only has protection for buyers and their customer service promotes fraud and dishonesty amongst its buyers. I never had an issue with them before as I have been a committed buyer and seller on Mercari since 2015 but my issue arose when I made a mistake on my end. I by accident ended up mixing two of my packages with the wrong shipping label resulting in two of my buyers receiving the wrong packages. I was immediately made aware of the situation when I received a message from one of my buyers telling me she got the wrong items. She ended up submitting a return request which got approved and honestly she was really kind about the situation and is sending me my items back, however the message I received back from Mercari is very unsettling. They told me that although a return request is approved that doesn't mean the buyer is required to send the items back and if they chose to keep the items I cannot do anything about it, which if that is true is messed up! I am lucky enough to say that I got a honest buyer but most people on Mercari are looking to scam sellers. I had no idea how poorly Mercari treated their sellers until I began doing research and found out the truth. I will no longer be selling on Mercari once this issue is resolved as I cannot risk being scammed by a buyer and not be protected by the Mercari team. Sad because I truly feel Mercari has the potential to be a good app for sellers and buyers, but as of right now it is not. Although postmark is much slower at selling items they truly protect their sellers and buyers, I would recommend switching over to that app instead until Mercari can fix their issues. Giving it two stars because it does have potential, but again their is no protection for sellers and that is a huge risk for me to take. I hope my other buyer is as honest as the other one and returns the items as it was items that were worth over $100 while she only paid $28 but who knows, if she decides not to be I will have to take the loss I guess since I am not protected by Mercari. If you choose to sell on Mercari beware of your protections and to who you sell to.
Made some sales there, but horrible non existent customer service, no phone customer service and e-mail service takes a week to answer if at all, canned response to contact them at their e-mail and then no response, full of low ball buyers and scam artists, best to put your energies somewhere else

I purchased an item. Paid the funds in to the holding account. The item was shipped and tagged delivered by FedEx. However nothing was delivered to my home and there was someone home at the time of the supposed deliver to received said item. Since FedEx says they delivered my package, I can't get my funds back. The funds go to the seller. Who will also be filing a claim with FedEx for reimbursement. So the seller will get paid twice and I am out my money and the item. Buyer beware!

This business does not have a dedicated phone line for fielding customer service issues. When you call the number you are put on hold under the guise that your call will be answered. Every few minute that goes by you estimated wait time goes up. You go from a two minute wait time to ten minutes as per the automated voice that comes on to let you know how much time is left in the wait. Once you have reached 10 minutes the prompt tells you that you have exceeded the wait time and proceeds to hang up on you.
Second, my issue is with ordering items and either not receiving them or receiving faulty products.
I ordered a suitcase from Mercari and asked the seller to expedite the item. The item was expedited through fedex for Friday 6/22 to come in time for a flight on Sunday 6/24. The item never came, I could not fly out.
I asked FedEx about this and they agreed to reimburse me my flight expenses as long as Mercari relinquished all responsibility to them.
Mercari does not relinquish responsibilty to FedEx. It is against their policy.
I asked for more explanation on this policy. They would not be responsible for the reimbursement, FedEx would be. So I asked for an explanation as to who the policy was protecting because I lost out on my flight.
Tim, the FedEx liaision for Mercari promptly closed the case and refused to give an explanation as to why I was losing out on this money.
In the past I have either received a faulty item, or nothing at all. I continued to patron this business because I am poor. My flight was to go to an orphanage, I needed the suitcase to bring shoes to barefoot orphans.
This is the worst business to patron. They are professional scam artists.

Easy app to list sell and print shipping tags i have 163 sold items and i had only one problem with a buyer.
Cons is that you dont have direct contact with mercari but if i ever need to tell them something i write a msg to mercari on facebook or by sending a request
Other than that i am a happy seller

I've had really good experiences with this site/app both as a buyer and a seller. They charge a fee of 10% to the seller and release the funds within 3 days of the buyer receiving the item, or when review reciprocation is complete (the buyer provides a positive review plus seller provides a positive review of the buyer), whichever comes first. I've had no problems with any of my sales or purchases except I could not get a coupon code to work on my first order. I found out later that it was because the coupon worked only on the app, and not on the website. This site is a great alternative to eBay and other online stores.

I order a Brand New Pair of Shoes from a seller and I opened the box and looked at them the first day. On the 4th day I decided to wear them and the shoes fell apart! I can't get a refund. I wore them for 1 hour and walked around with them at work and almost fell because the entire wedge came off and the top of the shoe. The other shoe started falling apart but the left shoe came undone l.
Do not use this company they cancel your account with no valid reason keep your money! You cannot speak to anyone on the phone everything done by e-mail useless help and no answers not customer focused at all

Do not use this platform. Mercari like many other have said is not seller friendly. Shipped products to customers, left tracking info. A day later Mercari email me saying orders were cancelled. Total scam and committing Fraud. Yes Mercari I will posy on every review site not to use your fraudulent service, so no one else get scam by you low life $#*!s.

They have falsely accused me of something I have not done. They will suspend your account without telling you about the problem and will keep your funds (if you are a seller). When I try to contact them, they will hit me with the same answer. Do not use this app if you don't want to be scammed.

I sold a Funko Pop collectible to a nice gentleman and it was destroyed in transit by FedEx. The buyer's return request was accepted because my posting said "MINT BOX" but that did not protect ME as the SELLER. The buyer was really nice and request to cancel the return but, of course, Mercari wouldn't. Worst customer service too, just kept repeating "there's nothing I can do for you"
