I've been a member since 2016 and have listed over 150 items and sold over 123 items on Mercari. Last Thursday, I received an offer for $12 on a pair of kids UGG boots. I declined the offer because it stated that my earnings would be $10.50. A half hour later I noticed that the buyer purchased the item for the $15 listed price. I printed out the label and shipped the boots off the same day. On Saturday, I received a notification that the buyer received the item and accepted it. She gave me a five star rating. When I logged into the site the very next day to check my earnings, it stated that my earnings was 50 cents. I sent Mercari an email explaining the situation. They sent me a response saying the shipping was free and paid by me. Say what now? I have never offered free shipping on any of my items that are listed under $100. Why would i sell a pair of UGG boots that is in great condition to only earn 50 cents? They said that they cannot reimburse my shipping because of their policy. That's when I decided that I would delete my account. I went in to delete my account but kept getting a message saying, I could not delete my account because there are items that were listed less than 2 weeks ago. I then decided to delete each individual item and noticed that 99% of my items had free shipping, when I've never offered or listed my items as seller pays shipping. They changed all of my items from 2016 to free shipping. This is very deceiving! How dare them! I deleted all of my items and will tell my friends and family to delete theirs as well. I will stick to Poshmark only. The nerve of those people!
I had a lot of items to sell and was using letgo when I got a text about Mercari. I googled and looked at reviews. One lady said the site was FULL of scammers. Well my first sale I got burned. Had a bracelet listed for $75. Lady talked me into letting her have for $25. I mailed to her. Bracelet had only been worn once when I took photo for the site. Was in plastic in its box. She got it and filed complaint saying it was old and damaged. So they didn't pay me. She wanted to keep the item and not pay return shipping. Also was warned that if you ask for your item back they send an envelope with paper clips and paper. I hope I get my item back. I have removed all my items. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Ridiculous
I was robbed of a $700 watch. I shipped it to the seller. I even paid the post office extra for signature comfirming. Just in case thr buyer claims he didn't get it.And the is exactly what he did. Told mercari he didn't received i. After I showed all my proof to mercari that it was delivered and he sign for it and they still sided with the seller. I was selling an old phone, so in the heading I put, A Call From The Past. The idiots said it was abusive miss conduct, morons, I couldn't do anything then, going to delete my account and to heck with them!
People do not purchase from these online thieves. I ordered a non-working camera from a seller and they could not even work in my favor to get my money back. This was my first purchase and my last.

I started selling, but the offers are low-ball on high end shoes. I see a lot nice things for sale on this web site. Buyer failed to ship my item because she was too busy and did not have time, why sell if you do not have time to ship? Stop making low-ball offers on high end shoes because seller do not have money or want something for nothing then they leave you a negative comment.
REPORT THEM TO IC3.gov or stopfakes.gov. They need to be shut down!
Ordered a "Lenola sweater" It is a cheap knock off. No tag inside the sweater except one that says, "Made in China." Says you can return if you message them within three days. NO WAY TO MESSAGE THEM. They have no intention of letting you return anything! I honestly wonder if their sellers are all fake too just to sell knock off items!

DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO USE MERCARI. ASIDE THAT IS FULL OF COUNTERFEIT, TO OPEN A RETURN IS TRULY A NIGHTMARE. THEY WON'T CARE ABOUT YOU AT ALL. I TRIED TO RETURN A FAKE LOUIS VUITTON AND FOR 3 DAYS, THE RETURN WAS NOT POSSIBLE BECAUSE THE ITEM SHOWED "ON IT WAY" (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ALREADY DELIVERED). WELL, GUESS WHAT? AFTER 4 DAYS, THIS ITEM WENT FROM "ON ITS WAY" TO "DELIVERED" AND I LOST $800 USD. I CALLED, EMAIL THEM AND CONTACTED THEM THROUGH THE SUPPORT CENTER AND THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED IN HELPING ME.
Mercari has no customer support. If you have a problem, you are out of luck. There is no one you can speak with or contact. You cannot contact the seller of an item either, as the Mercari software interface does not allow it. There are no instructions provided by the Mercari site. I am now attempting to cancel my order, however, one part of the Mercari program states I have made no orders while another states that Mercari will notify me when the item is shipped. I have tried to contact the seller, but the Mercari program puts me into an endless loop which allows me to see the sellers feedback but not contact them. I doubt that I will be able to recover my money. I will contact paypal and hope for the best..
I've been selling on this site. So far I've lost over $300. The concepts and the idea of it and the low Consignment percentage is the only reason why I keep using it. Their site is not clear to use their rules are not cleaR. Honestly I feel that they really don't give a $#*! about their sellers at all They don't give coupons but it's far and in between the actual dissatisfy cas they don't give coupons but it's far and in between the actual distain I get over and over again. We are 4 people living in same home roommates we sell online on every platform mercari banned us because we ship from same adress and sell similar products. Got the ID verification still not paying us $2000. Does not protects costumer or seller! People who thinks they are brand expert can report you and you can get suspend 24 hours until you proof. Can not get your problem solved in a day you may need to wait 3 days. Funny think you get suspend and can not message anyone but costumer can write you, costumer think you do not answer them. Really bad quality no need to waste your time and money. Never trust!
I recently bought some Bose Soundsport headphones from this app. Before I purchased the item, I checked the photos to make sure that I would be satisfied with the item before purchasing. The condition on the item said it was good, and there were a couple pictures on there about the item. It had no notes other than, "look at the photos". I looked at the photos and they looked normal to me although one side was missing the bose logo. I purchased them and when I received the item, the headphones were falling apart! The volume button doesn't work, the headphones' volume is laughable (I fixed it along with other issues). I rated the seller 2 stars because the service was fast and I wrote a review on why I was displeased with the product. After I submitted my review, the seller sends a message on one of my items about how I posted an unfair review and that I should've looked before buying and that they'll be contacting mercari to delete my review. I attempted to respond, but the user blocked me from doing so. If you're wondering, yes my review was deleted and I lost the honest review. I am very disgusted that mercari did this and it is very unprofessional.
All I have to say is they suck! Their over paranoid that your not allowed to use words like Ebay or Facebook or else your conversation is deleted between you and a seller or buyer! You get warnings for the dumbest things ever or suspended! If you have a problem they try and make it difficult to complain to them! When you do finally contact them their answers haven't a thing to do with what your original reason for contacting them for has to do with the subject! They dont honestly know their butts from their heads! I can see why so many close their account and I don't see this company lasting long! Which I hope it does fail too bc they are nowhere in the same class as Ebay!
I purchased my items 20 days ago from a seller named Jessica Dont buy from her I think shes a scammer she takes the money and you never here from her again. The site is very hard to get around and its almost impossible to get a hold of customer service. The number on the site is no longer in service when you click on something it takes you no where. Unless you have money to throw away DONT SHOP HERE! I have been shopping online since 1999 and never had a problem until now. I even shop China and I havent had this kind of issue. I didnt lose allot of money this time but I hate a thief so I had to do this review. As a matter of fact I will be contacting the BBB tomorrow.
Horrible company and customer service. I sold alot on there quick thought it was good site then it all went down the drain fast. I purchased a so called brand new in the bag boutique Halloween dress for my kid from user 2littlefeetboutique on Mercari. The dress came with a big hole in the back on one side and on the other side had been stitched and was all bunched up making the entire back of the dress uneven. It was clearly used and not new. This user claimed she would accept my return and was so sorry. Well Mercari asked me for pictures 2 different days and I sent over 10 of them and they denied my claim stating I didnt send enough pictures fast enough. Wow what a total scam of a company on damaged and defective merchandise being sold and they even saw the email from this woman saying she would accept my return. BEWARE OF MERCARI
I've filed a formal complaint about this site several times to stopfakes.gov and other government agencies for selling counterfeit items as well as used cosmetics (disgusting). If you want to pay 2 times more than what you would pay in the store or at a reputable online dealer for items like this - than by all means, please do, but I think that I've said enough.
