I sold am AUTHENTIC MK purse and buyer says not... The buyer rated me and left a poor feedback. I rated back. The transaction after a rating is COMPLETE. The NEXT day, Mercari said there was a dispute and buyer rated during, so they TOOK my money from me, the buyer had my purse, and I have a poor feedback! I was NEVER notified of the dispute! That's why I left feedback after buyer! Here it is 7 days, 7 days later. I have NO purse, NO money, AND a POOR feedback... all I get back is an automated response. I think the policy says transactions are done after feedback is left, not to mention, how long are they letting someone rent my purse?! I am livid! This was $60! WOW! SELLERS ARE NOT PROTECTED ON THIS SITE!
I purchased an item on Mecari the shipper cancelled the item I have waiting for my money for 2 Weeks. Everytime I contact them they send me a pregeneratated answer. I was told I was going to recieve my funds on 11/5. Contacted them yesterday now they are asking me to wait until 11/10. This is Unacceptable, they also went into my inbox which is private and erased messages between a seller and I. Its says deleted by administrator, a few weeks ago I would tell people to buy from this site but now. I say STAY AWAY THE STEAL YOUR MONEY AND DON'T RESOLVE ISSUES. THEY ALSO GO INSIDE YOUR PRIVATE INBOX AND ERASE MESSAGES THAT DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM. RUN DONT USE THIS SITE
I have been buying and selling on online resale platforms since dial up. I can tell you that Mercari is by far the best one. I have been with Mercari since 2016 and have had nothing but outstanding customer service and excellent experiences. I recommend Mercari to everyone I know. I've made over 100 transactions and any issues I had Mercari immediately resolved. Mercaris customer service has always responded within 24hrs. Any negative reviews I believe are due to self error. I couldnt be more happy with Mercari. Its by far the most trustworthy resale platform available.

I bought a pair of sandals from one of the sellers. When they arrived, they were a size smaller than listed. The seller apologized for her mistake and told me to send them back, which I did, only to find out I wouldn't be receiving a refund. Instead, they issued me "mercari credits". Ok I shop in the site here and there so I looked for something else to buy but didn't see anything I wanted. A month later I found something I liked and went to use my credits, only to find out they expired! Mercari refused to give me my money back and would not renew my credits. Now I'm out the shoes and the money I paid for them! Don't shop on this site! The WORST I ever experienced! Not worth your time or your money! I will stick with eBay!
Bought 3 phones from 3 different people at 3 different times and received nothing... site is full of thieves...

Because Mercari is unable to guarantee a seller will ship a purchased item, we allow them to cancel transactions in the case they have troubles sending it off (so buyers can be reimbursed as quickly as possible). Sometimes this means that sellers aren't completely honest in their reasons or cancel unnecessarily, but rest assured we do watch and penalize accounts should they have a large number of unwarranted cancellations. The fact that they don't let you challenge items or even review sellers after 3 days proves they're a site designed for scammers. I was sent a completely different item than described but because I was out and didn't get the package within 3 days, there's nothing I can do about it.
I sold multiple items on this site and was never paid. Hard lesson learned! I will never sell on mercari again. Stick with Ebay it's so much more reliable!
Don't recommend to sell on Mercari! They don't have developed customer support. It's not possible to reach them by phone, if so, anyway they are not able to resolve anything! I posted Burberry Scarf, NWT, sold it and sent to the buyer! And after 2 days they sent me notification that my account is suspended, they would hold my funds! I called them and the reply was" go to your carrier service and recall it back"! What? It's not necessarily to have receipt for all items you sell! Before posting I checked the similar listings! I'm my opinion, they should not allow to list if something wrong, not inform after it was sold and sent! And they closed my account for nothing!

I was selling on mercari legit items and then for some reason they shut me down claiming I sold counterfeit items. I had know option to prove my innocence so the said my account was suspended then afterwards I was given 3 months to receive my funds from the sold items after 3 months all record of my messages and conversations was deleted my 400 bucks was stolen and I had know way of proving it so tale a screen shot of all your conversations with mercari they deleted my conversations only related to my money they owe me.
I should have researched Mercari more than I had because I would have saved myself from wasting my money and time. I've only been using the site as a buyer and the reviewers are correct when they say that there is basically no customer service. I received a box full of broken items, because the seller had done a horrible job of packing the items, and I am now stuck with it after wasting over $70 on it. The seller has done nothing to help with the situation except to say that they were worried about sending the items because the breakable items were quite heavy. So they worried about sending items, that they were more than willing to sell, then they put them in a box with basically no packing? All I keep receiving, in responses from customer service, is the same message which is:
"Thanks for reaching out. We are currently experiencing an unusually high volume of inquiries. Response times may be longer than usual.
We will be getting back to you as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience.
P.S. You can find answers to many frequently asked questions in our Help Center."
Don't make the same mistake I did by not heeding the warnings about Mercari.

Once an issue has arisen.
In my case the buyer wanted to return item simply from buyers remorse. Mercari said they will look into act as mediator and get back with me in 1-2 days. Now day 4 and no answer and no way to contact them. Their concept is good but lack of customer support gives them a zero.
Uggg, what an expensive piece of crapola. When I saw they had a 10% fee for sales, I looked at their reviews. What a joke.
Mercari offers no type of protection for sellers. I shipped an Apple Watch to someone that was broken and sold for parts. Buyer states watch doesn't work. Um I know, it was sold for parts only. Buyer refuses to rate me or open a return request and Mercari has absolutely no customer service. So I'm out of an item and Mercari refuses to release money.
RECENTLY HAD AN ISSUE W A SALE AFTER THE APP DEFAULTED TO FREE SHIPPING WHEN I EDITED MORE PICTURES. I sold an item on Mercari. The buyer claimed the item didnt work and raised it with Mercari. Mercari accepted their return, however, the buyer shipped an empty package back to me.
I contacted Mercari within 24 hours as per their policy. Mercari told me I need to file a claim with USPS and there is nothing they can do because 'I wasn't descriptive enough in my support request'. I have presented the evidence to them in a clear cut manor, only to be ignored over and over again.
They take absolutely NO responsibility, despite now charging sellers 10% on all sales, whereas it was free before. I have opened 12 support cases and each time, they close them out with a templated response offering no help at all. Everytime I want to reply, I have to open a support case only for them to close it out again with the same templated response.
I have asked to speak to a supervisor on 7 occasions, only to be ignored. This is absolutely appalling and this CANNOT continue.
I have created a case with the Better Business Bureau and I have kept logs and screenshots of all my contact with Mercari. Looking at these from outside perspective, it's really embarrassing for this business and there is absolutely no way they can continue to act like this without going out of business.
A user asked if there was any pulling on a baby Adidas track suit I was selling. I didn't know what that meant, so she asked if there were any threads loose. I said not that I noticed and attached more pictures of all the hems on pants and sleeves so she could review before purchase. She offered me $8 for the item, I agreed to $9 with free shipping, which gave me less than $4 profit. She wrote a poor review for me saying "there was so much pilling and that she had asked me about imperfections and I didn't mention this." Then she turned around and posted the track suit for $22 stating it was in good condition with a tiny bit of pilling on the legs. I couldn't see her rating of me before I rated her. There was no way for me to accurately rate her based on the rating system Mercari uses. She also blocked me, so I could not contact her regarding the issue and poor review. I contacted Mercari and they didn't give a $#*!, basically saying that anyone can write anything in a review regardless of accuracy or relevance and they will do nothing. I highly discourage the use of this app.
Seller dawndollie is a dishonest seller she sent me a broken atomizer spray for $28 and she claimed that it is in perfect working condition. Mercari does not even allow me to give her any feedback. She continues to sell broken items on her listings in Mercari claiming that the items are good, but will send buyers broken items.
As unbelievable as it sounds, once you buy something Mercari, there is NO WAY to contact Mercari or your seller if there is a problem. Once you order, you're screwed if something isn't right. I just wasted $125 on a faulty Hard Drive. So angry. Mercari doesn't have a phone number, an email address or a physical location to try to contact.
I recently received a purchase and the items were in terrible condition... nothing like the photos or description. I attempted to request a refund, but was told "Not eligible for refund." So, I went ahead and accepted the package leaving a poor review. Within no time, the seller messages me saying that the item had never been worn... ha, ha! I won't go into details, but it was awful! For some reason, I am not able to respond to the seller's message. I just received the package today, so I am within the time limit. Not good. I'm done. Poshmark is still the best!
Came across the sight looking for the best price on a specific pair of Nike shoes. Never heard of the sight, so was hesitant. Received them as ordered. Started selling there as well since I have sold on ebay for years. I have had about 25-30 problem free transactions so far.As a seller, the site is basically ebay without all the tech problems. Extremely easy to list, items sell faster. Seamless site for a seller. Very impressed with that aspect. I suspect the site will grow quickly

Whos paying taxes on it? FTC will get your money! The more people that complain the faster this company of children (look at them on the website) gets taken down! The faster we all get paid!
