Lumosity Reviews Summary

Lumosity enjoys a mixed reputation among its users. Many customers appreciate the variety and enjoyment of the brain games, noting their potential benefits for cognitive engagement. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, with numerous reports of unresponsive support, issues with auto-renewals, and unclear billing practices. Users express frustration over the discontinuation of popular games without notice and the perceived lack of transparency in scoring algorithms. Overall, while the games themselves receive positive feedback, the company's customer service approach and communication leave much to be desired, impacting overall satisfaction.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM
Signed up for 1 month. They kept on taking money every month. When I called them the answer was we have an "auto-renew'. Notthat it is a seperate questionthat you must reply to. I was then billed the next month again. I am at present fighting to agt a refun. They have said they will not refund.

I love this site
February 8, 2013

I love this site. I've been using it now for about a month. You can set up a daily reminder so that it sends you an email to let you know to do your daily exercises. I think it's fascinating to see your progress and how you rank with others your age. It has a nice selection of games and I have my favorites that I look forward to playing. If you get on their email list, you can get emails about promos for discounts to subscribe. They have a nice variety of games as well. I had to reach out to their customer service about something via email and they got back to me within 24 hours which I was very pleased to see. Nothing to not like about this site in my opinion! :)

I have recently subscribed to Lumosity.com full access. I paid yearly subscription. Now I was requesting to get a full refund of the sum I paid, just for personal reasons. It is stated on the website that refundation is possible for full year subscriptions, if this is done within the first month of subscription.
However, few days have already past since my request, and still I havent heard from Lumosity team.
I am getting really mad about them, as this seems to be terrible customer service, especially considering this is a paid service.
Hence I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this website.

I signed up for one month to try out the site, and the games were fun but I decided not to renew. A few months later I was still seeing Lumosity charges on my credit card, apparently signing up for 1 month means paying forever unless stated otherwise.

I liked the site but would not recommend it to anyone else based solely on their shady billing services.

I enjoy the site and I am pleased with how it works. I have had one technical problem in 6 months and it got fixed in about an hour. The help was very graceful and quick. Also - I have not been flooded with spam at all. The only reason for giving four stars instead of five is that I would like more games within each category.

This site allows you to play brain games that target mental weaknesses and exercise these weaknesses via games allegedly designed to promote neural growth in areas of cognitive weakness. They have specials and gift packages as promotions, but I simply play the 15 minutes of free games everyday. It uses a game format that tracks your score over a period of time, which adds a dimension of analysis that I find viscerally satisfying, to the experience. I especially like the Rain Drops (math multiplication and division fast paced exercise) and the game where you are a waiter at a restaurant and must remember guest names over multiple visits to the site, and their orders. It has help me to remember names :)

I liked the trial run, so I purchased the year membership of $80. The games stopped running properly, so I emailed them to get tech help to remedy the problem. Two emails with NO RESPONSE over a 3 week period of time. They do not provide any phone numbers to contact them. There is no refund available even though there is still 6 months left of my subscription. Stay away from this website. Very disappointed in there extremely poor service and web functionality.

I also have been getting an enormous amount of spam since I signed up for the trial, I can't justify paying for a full membership to someone who sells my info to spammers. Even though I enjoy the games and was looking forward to getting a membership. You've said you don't sell to spammers but this was the only site I gave my email to in the last year and I was enjoying a spam free inbox until now. I'm very disappointed. My username is one word, the name of the country above America followed by *******@hotmail. I am careful about putting my email on the web, so it was easy to figure which company betrayed me. Well the second site is this one here jabber to complain about luminosity. Overall the site was good and the memory games seemed promising. I would gladly pay to see how much improvement I really find, if it was not for the way they handle the email address you give them. That destroys trust, especially since it goes against their very own privacy policy.

The site is great brain training seems to be working on helping in my daily life.

I have only one complaint and its a big one, if you don't complete your daily training before 11pm pacific it rolls over and credits your work for the next day robbing you of day you just finished, this wouldn't be a problem but it goes against a yearly subscription which in itself is stealing from the customer. When they fix this problem i would be happy to recommend their site to anyone, it also has feature for those with ADHD, cancer recovery, PTSD and other mental illness to help strengthen the mind.

IT has already helped my issues with remembering names a faces.

Lumosity website cannot be used on Apple mobile devices, since it requires Adobe Flash Player. This is a platform NOT available for these mobile devices, and even Adobe had abandoned Flash Player for other mobile devices. Disappointed, H. K.

Warning!
December 14, 2011

Warning! This is a bad websight. They use every trick in the book and then some to trick and deceive. They do not respect there customers and feel they own your privacy and money once you sign on. They hound you with daily to weekly e-mails trying to sell you more.
When you try to play their games they don't always work and when you try to cancel the confirmed cancellation doesn't go through. If you use this web sight take a camera and photograph every page you complete because there is a good chance that you will not be able to save a copy once you cancel and you will need to be able to prove what you did. They are really tricky. If you visit their websight and don't sign up they send daily e-mails untill you do. The most interesting thing is is that the e-mails you receive before ever signing up will have your secret password on them after you sign up, so the original email has changed and if their is any dispute they refer back to these e-mails.

I love the games and agree they are fun and well designed. What I have found very frustrating is the constant technical problems. For example: I play a game and then when I want to play the game a second time, the game won't load. Or, on many occasions you can't even log into the site.

On the numerous times that I have reported technical problems and error codes, I get a "cookie cutter" response on how to solve the problem. I keep telling them that I have already followed all their suggestions and the problems still exist.

The technical problems cause a huge waste of time (and money). Yes - the games are terrific. But at this point to much of a hassle. I am going to cancel my subscription and look elsewhere.

Can anyone suggest some other brain game sites?

They gave my email address out to spammers. I signed up to their website a while ago using myemailaddress+*******@gmail.com. Three weeks ago viagra emails started arriving in my inbox sent to the +*******@gmail.com tag.

This, for me, dwarfs any other aspect of the site and I'd say stay away at all costs.

A friend shared this website with me a couple of weeks ago. The site contains games that are designed to train your brain. You can train on things like learning to remember names and faces, performing math calculations quickly in your head, remembering where things are, and improving your vocabulary. They offer a free trial, and if you choose to become a member it is reasonably priced. It is a fun way to improve basic mind skills.

I agree with the previous review, that the site is awesome and fun, but still a bit overpriced. However if that money is really going to scientists and doctors analyzing games and improving the site, then i can deal, because the games really are fun, and while recent research has found no correlation between brain games and increased IQs, I feel like my math skills and reflexes have improved from their games.
