As someone else mentioned I don't know how I got these people 2 years ago, I thought I was talking with the airline. In Feb. 2022 I called them as I had a credit with them for over $1600 to book a flight to Oslo. I received a printout of a flight schedule and a booking number. One day prior to the flight in June I learned 'there was a problem' and to call the airline directly. Icelandair knew nothing of me or the ticket number received from LookByFare. I had to purchase a last minute ticket directly from the airline for $1500 over the price my sister paid in February. And LookByFare still has my $1600+ from a year ago. The manager, Marcellus, called me once 3 weeks ago and nothing since. Because of their incompetency I am out $3100 to date! I am trying to take it up with the US Attorney General I feel so strongly that they are scamming people.
This company is HORRIBLE. On Feb. 19,2022 I had them purchase tickets to Osco, Norway, leaving on June 9,2022. I received a printout of flights, times, and a booking number. The day before flight I did not receive checkin instructions. Called Lookbyfare, after a 50 min hold a gentleman said there was a problem, gave me a ticket no. And said to call the airline. I called Icelandair and they had no record of me or the ticket number. I purchased a ticket for $2786. 37 directly from them while my sister paid $1285. 65 in Feb. When I first contacted Lookbyfare. I contacted them because they had $1684. 68 of my money from a previous attempt at this booking. They have $1600+ of my money plus I had to pay $1500+ more for a last minute ticket. That's over $3000 overcharge folks for a company with a supposed 4 star rating!
Great prices I could not find anywhere else, however they tried to charge me more than they originally quoted, saying it was taxes and fees. They did this by sending me an email that had the higher price and asked me to confirm the reservation. When I called them on it they offered a lower price that was still higher than original offer. I told them no and they finally agreed to charge me the original price. After about 8 hours I received confirmation of my flight. Just to be sure I checked the airline and the flight was confirmed. It all worked out in the end but with LOTS of attention and perseverance on my part.
