A book bag that lasts years. It has three main pockets which make it easier to organize your materials, all of which can be opened with zippers that dont break easily and dont get stuck on the bag. Inside the first main pocket has 4 different areas to store your materials. The second is just one spacious pocket, and the front has several places to store items such as pencils, flashcards, glasses, and any extra materials you may need. To other book bags that I have had in the past this is several steps above the rest. Other bags can easily break after a few weeks of having them, or completely tear the bottom in just a few months. This one has been in use for 4 years and the only things broken on it were at fault of the user. It might be a little high in price at $59.95, but you would save more money buying this than having to replace one every couple of months. I would recommend this if you dont mind putting a decent amount of money onto a book bag, and dont want to continuously replace bags.
Family owned and ran company. You could buy a pair of jeans and wear them for 20 years, they rip you bring them back and they give you a brand new pair. Where else would that happen?

While I did not order, this time, I was able to get answers immediately to my questions - the customer service can not be beat! Generally, bought a bed from them - they provided advice, as I was putting it together (in addition to the written instructions provided!). Great product. As was the Bicycle I purchased. '
Suggestion: if you like their products - get their Credit card - you'll save in so many ways, in addition to building up credits towards future purchases! They also offer better discounts, when available, for members!
Though you pay a higher price, there customer support is really unparalleled. I love going there (and a bit sad that their shoes last so long!).
LL Bean has always had outstanding customer service. This has become more important to me over the years. I'm happy to pay a little higher for my boots/outerwear than what the big box stores are offering. LL Bean always has free shipping and they take returns with no questions asked.

The store tends to be a little more pricy but all of their L. L. Bean brand items have a life time guarentee, even their underwear! If it breaks or gets old you can bring it in for a replacement of the latest version of what you bought or if you hold on to all of your L. L. Bean receipts you can exchange it for a similar item of equal or lesser value. All around its just an amazing place to shop for life long items like coats, backpacks, and the essentials

I like the quality of LL Bean products, and especially like that they sell a nice selection of women's clothing in petite sizes. I may be spoiled by Amazon Prime, but 2 weeks to ship is crazy.

We order a lot from LL Bean. They stand by their products. If something happens tears, shrinks, whatever they will take it back.
L. L. Bean was always such a great company to do business with. Good products, discounts offered often enough for comfort and best of all, very good order processing and shipping time.
I am trying to figure out why L. L. Bean told PayPal they processed my order on October 11th because here it is the evening of the 17th and the order is not only not shipped, it's still waiting to be processed!
What happened to the L. L. Bean we all knew and loved? Why the drastic changes in customer service, and not for the better?

I received this reply from "Kevin": I can assure you that no sheep are harmed in the harvesting of their fleece. Wool is a renewable resource and we would not want to, in any way, deplete the number of sheep that are producing our fine Merino wool.
I do not appreciate the snarky disrespectful tone of the reply. Kevin seems to be making fun of my legitimate concern. Sheep raised for their wool are treated cruelly and I will not support businesses that have no interest in their welfare. Kevin could have replied that LLBean is not concerned with the treatment of the sheep that produce the wool used in their products, that would have sufficed. I'll look elsewhere for socks.
Last night my boyfriend and I went to return his all bean boots we purchased a little over a year ago, because they were uncomfortable and cold while hunting. ( Mind you we purchased them in Freeport Maine) we were treated like we were liars and they could not find any purchase history on either of us. ( Wth) first thing is we didn't want money back just an exchange for something warmer and more comfortable, but was told we had to get the same boot or we could have a refund of $23.00 Seriously!
We have receipts for other items we bought but not the dang boots ( still no history found) customer standing beside us was able to get a refund without a receipt. Hmmm
I guess if you live out of state you are treated with respect.

Answer: Fairly easy to get a CS rep via chat or phone but they aren't as conscientious as they once were and seem to use a lot of canned responses.
Answer: If you don't get results from one customer service representative, ask to speak to a supervisor. I emailed my question in and had a quick response and exceptional service. Had I not, I certainty would have gone up the chain of command.
