The company's reputation has significantly declined, with customers expressing frustration over deteriorating product quality and inconsistent sizing. Many reviews highlight issues with customer service, describing representatives as unhelpful and rude, which exacerbates dissatisfaction. Delays in shipping and returns further contribute to negative sentiments, with customers feeling undervalued and neglected. While some positive feedback remains regarding specific products, the overall trend indicates a growing discontent with the brand's commitment to quality and customer care, prompting many loyal customers to seek alternatives. Addressing these concerns could help restore trust and improve customer loyalty.

I never bought anything at an elite store like LLBean before, but as a Trump supporter thought that I should after them leftists were gonna boycott the store because that rich lady who owns the company called them names. I'm kinda disappointed now that I looked at their catalog because they didn't have any wife-beaters or confederate flag shirts like the kind I usually buy from my usual haberdashery. I couldn't believe them prices either. Who would pay that much for a pair of jeans or a shirt? If I had that much money, I would use it to go see the race in Bristol this year. I'll still buy something, but now the other store that I buy from will lose money. I think I screwed my self over.
Now I know why they are over-priced, they need your money to donate to Donald Trump* (* our illegitimate president). Not a fan of the company or the products. Target does a better job at a lower price.
I have been a customer of LL BEAN for 44 years. Over that period of time I have noticed a decline in the quality of the merchandise, but that holds true for all but the most expensive clothing. The Gap, A &F, Old Navy, Lands End, Eddie Bauer, Macy's, etc... all in the same boat. Nothing is of the same excellent quality it once was. I am still wearing some tunics I got from LL Bean over 25 years ago. They have been washed hundreds of times. The color is still good and the material intact. I have a pair of their loafers I bought 30 years ago. They are quite lovely now with a nice, rich patina. Turtlenecks are not as nice as they used to be, but they are still about the best ones out there unless you spend over $100.00. I still purchase staple clothing items from them, but not as much as I would if the quality was top notch as it used to be. We would pay dearly for that quality now. Everybody wants to be paid top dollar for their work and no "natural resources" used and certainly no by products with which to deal... but they want the best products for a bottom dollar price... can't have it both ways folks!
LL BEAN HAS ALWAYS STOOD BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. I have never had a problem returning or exchanging anything. That, in itself, means a lot. And, for the most part, their products are ok. Some things better than others. Still a good company.
I don't like this store because they backed the stupid president elect "tronald dump". Also you can get better quality clothing that doesn't look like something out of your grandma's closet for a decent price at Target than this old people's shop.
I purchased a pair of women's slippers. I had to replace my previous pair as they were falling apart after 5 years! Yes, 5 years old. The new slippers wore out fast and before 8 months had passed, there was a hole in the toe top and the shearing inside had all but diminished. Very disappointed with them. I
In the past, I have appreciated the quality of LL Bean products. Over the past years, I have been displeased with the lessening of the quality and value of products being offered. Products currently being sold at LL Bean carry a premium price but are often made in China. I should just go to Walmart to buy China made products at a better price!
Great and easy ordering process, fast shipping, easy returns if needed. Quality of goods is well above average.
Their substandard Chinese merchandise is a rip-off. You may as well buy your clothing from Walmart. They care naught for the longevity of our planet, American jobs, or their customers.
Items we purchased at Christmas and throughout the year are great - exactly what we need in fit and style. Slippers, quilts, bedding, etc. No complaints. And as for the people who think it is incredibly intelligent to ban or bash a company because of one person who supports someone you don't like, you are trying to harm thousands of employees that this company employs. Supporting a successful US company is what is important to keep the jobs here. Sort of like bullying - oh yes, what you all say our new President does. Hello pot - I'm kettle...
Great company to do business with. I always expect quality and they always deliver. Have never had a reason to return anything.
The company broke the law donating excess funds to Trump. With so many of their products made in China they have no intention of making Maine or America great.
I like LL Bean but they want you to return their stuff at Sears which is like suggesting you don't really have an option because where are Sears anyway? They are all closing down. So they should include free label returns rather than charging for them.
Such great customer service! I grew up in Maine and have been familiar with L. L. Bean all my life. This past Christmas, my fiance ordered me a pair of women's size 9 slippers from L. L. Bean online but they accidentally mailed men's size 10. So I went into the store and asked if I could trade the men's size 10 for the size I was supposed to get. Even though my fiance originially bought the slippers on sale and they were no longer doing the same sale, the cashier (I can't remember her name!) made up the difference so I did not have to pay anything. She was very nice and worked quickly to make sure I got the ones I wanted :) I've never had a bad experience there!
Products are always as described and always arrive on time.
I order two gifts from LL Bean from a catalog which stated on the front "Order by December 21, get it by Christmas Eve, guaranteed. I ordered on 12/18/16. By 12/25/16, the package had not come. I called them and was told "we don't guarantee you will get it, only that it will get to your city" (!). I explained my son was in from out of the country and I could not mail it to him after he left. I was offered a $25 gift card and was offered to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor said there was nothing she could do and offered me a $10 gift card, $15 less than the previous offer. I canceled the order and did not take the gift card. Please be aware that LL Bean does not stand behind it" "guarantees" and don't assume anything they represent is true.
The products of this company are always of good quality, and deliveries are always fast.
Ordered Dec 1st. Big mixup in delivery. Just learned shipment returned to LLBean.
7 items for Xmas gifts No explanation.
Free Delivery... that's why. Columbia is better.
On the 21 with next day shipping and a expedite charge they can not get you a order till the 28th why pay all those charges... then they lie and blame it on UPS, Fedex and USPS
ABSOLUTELY NOT CHRISTMAS FRIENDLY!
"Looking for valid Coupon to save $$ for Xmas; spoke to **** online (and he really was one) simply said NO!, not interested in working with customer! Didn't offer to spk/w manager; I guess LL Beam is more interested in making $$$$ than having repeat customers! Not good; Despite loving their products, been a loyal customer, I will never shop again!"
Answer: Nope. But I have heard the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band's Gorilla album and it's my fav.
Answer: Fairly easy to get a CS rep via chat or phone but they aren't as conscientious as they once were and seem to use a lot of canned responses.
Answer: If you don't get results from one customer service representative, ask to speak to a supervisor. I emailed my question in and had a quick response and exceptional service. Had I not, I certainty would have gone up the chain of command.
