I extremely question the genuineness & character of this company and I don't want the same speech everybody else has gotten. We all know that in good companies, when something happens to tarnish the happy experience of getting the help through their business, they "right the ship." Now, I'm astonished by the number of negative reviews that, by word of mouth, will decrease your potential business at an astronomic level. Yet, you can't simply take necessary information out of the fine print and make it CLEAR which would quickly reduce the number of occurrences of this issue. Second, turn off the automatic charge if not CANCELED after the cheap 7days, which many think they are paying for. But those would mean you would definitely lose thousands of dollars. Why do that then right? I don't care what produce you sell, how good it is or how badly I need it. This is a deeper issue of deceitful-ness & greed. Do NOT use this service and support who they are at the core. There are other services that do just as well or better, may be a little more than the $4, but maybe it's a good business that isn't out to create a good product but set it up in a way that naturally creates extra steps for its customers and makes those important details not stick out. Do not use this service! I unknowingly invested over $150 in this company and overdrafted because of it. Twice, on my OLD account. Shortly after registering for this service, I created a new joint account with my wife. If i would have been more aware of what i was getting into with this product, all of this would have been caught sooner.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. The $3.95 option you chose is good for 7 days and then it auto-renews. Underneath the subscription options in the same size font we state that the subscription will auto-renew on the 8th day. Once you cancel you will no longer be charged. Additionally, we state that on confirmation page, as well as in the email confirmation you received. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email, and self- cancellation in your Account Settings!

Many of our customers continue to use our service for several months during their entire job search and make use of our resume posting service, which increases their chances of getting a job. A monthly subscription to Resume Builder makes tailoring, customizing, and creating cover letters really easy and fast, that’s why we have a recurring billing feature, but you can cancel at any time if service is no longer needed.

Terrified after reading these reviews, I cancelled my subscription early and realized I was charged for international processing so I was charged another $2.00 in the fine print.
I called today to cancel and also cancelled online, however it seems most of you have as well and were still charged. I will be contacting my bank ASAP! I hope to have a better outcome and will gladly post a positive review if so.

I apologize for any misunderstanding, but as an international company, LiveCareer processes payments through LiveCareer UK, Ltd. with its offices in London, England. Some banks charge an international transaction fee, even when the charge is in US dollars. These fees are charged by your bank and not LiveCareer. You can see the Information regarding International transaction on the email confirmation we sent right after purchase.
We also explain that the subscription is auto-renewing, underneath the description of the subscription in bullet form, as well as in the confirmation email you receive once you subscribe. When you cancel your service, we also send confirmation email stating your account has been successfully cancelled, if you haven’t received any cancellation email please give us a call and we will honor this in full extent.

I purchased a trial membership for 3.95 to help my son write his resume'. After using the template, I cancelled my service before the trial period ended. I have been charged $34.95 for the past two months. I have emailed them numerous times with no response from their end. I am now about to chat with them on line to see if they will refund my hard earned money! Theives! And after reading the reviews from others that have had the same experience, I just feel like kicking myself for not researching this website before buying! Horrible!

Same as the first. Singed up for 7 day trial. I used it for a day to print a resume. Was charged multiple times, including the 35 dollar charge, making me overdraft. I sent an email to the email they provide for help and have yet to see any response, just sent a second and maybe they will reply. As of now though, don't get ripped off!

Stay away!

Stay away! I signed up for a one day use of their site at $2.95. They in turn, sign you up for a monthly subscription at $35.95, which I never requested.

When I told them I wanted a refund they said:

Alaine: Now, we normally ask that our customers cancel their subscription before the next billing period, but since I do see that you have not accessed your subscription this billing cycle, I can make an exception for you and prorate your subscription for this month. This refund will be a total of: $28.71

While it is a partial refund, my contention is:

1. I shouldn't have been signed up in the first place!
2. I should have a full refund! As stated above, I hadn't used their service.
3. Horrible customer service, the call agent, just hung up on me.

Don't use their services!

I used this site to make a great resume. I then paid the $3.95 for the trial fee, which is fair. The problem came in when I deleted my account a couple of days later [before the trial was done] and I was then charged the $34.95 subscription fee. I talked to customer service via email and was ignored when I said I wanted a refund. I then talked to a customer service rep named 'Pedz' via chat. He told me more than once that I didn't have an account under the email I gave him. After I told him to double check it, he found it.
Long story short, he confirmed everything was cancelled and then told me that he was making an 'exception' by giving me a refund even though the money was wrongfully taken from my account.

Just from that experience with their oh so helpful CSR, I would NOT recommend this site. The resume was great but the customer service was awful. I saved the transcript just in case my refund doesn't come through and just in case I'm charged again.

This site does not offer high value added service. My search was for free resume service and that is what they say but after building your resume there is a fee. Don't give them your credit card... they will charge to it every month. Stay away... they are not honest.
