Avoid LG at all costs.

I have experienced the worst after-sales service and customer support of my life with LG. Once they have your money, LG simply do not care about the customer.

In 2016, I purchased an LG 98" TV for approximately $17,000, marketed at the time as LG's latest and greatest Smart TV. After just four years, a background software update permanently removed all Smart features and apps, effectively turning a flagship "Smart" TV into a dumb display.

What followed was over four years of being strung along by LG customer service — endless promises, false hope, delays, and zero accountability. When I finally escalated the matter to LG senior management, I was completely brushed off. Their solution? Buy a third-party device to replace the functionality LG removed.

I did not pay $17,000 for a premium Smart TV to be told years later to plug in external devices to restore basic features. If that was acceptable, I would have bought a cheap monitor instead. LG unilaterally downgraded a premium product and then had the audacity to suggest this was an acceptable outcome.

LG's handling of this matter was insulting, arrogant, and disrespectful. I lodged a formal complaint with Fair Trading and took the matter to NCAT. LG ultimately won on a technicality of time — a delay caused directly by LG's own customer service dragging the process out until I was pushed beyond the legal window.

This experience made one thing very clear: for LG, winning a case matters more than customer satisfaction, integrity, or long-term loyalty.

I will never purchase another LG product again, and I strongly discourage anyone considering LG from doing so. There are many brands that stand behind their products — LG is not one of them.

We purchased three LG cooking appliances directly from LG (MVEL2033F over-the-range microwave, WSEP4727F single wall oven, CBGJ3027S gas cooktop) and purchased extended warranties for all. The products may be fine, but the LG buying and delivery experience has been a complete fiasco.

We experienced five failed delivery attempts, including two no call no show failures, involving LG's contracted delivery and installation provider, LX Pantos.

Timeline:

12/10: LX Pantos canceled at the end of the day citing "unforeseen circumstances" after we waited all day. This cost a full lost workday because schedules were rearranged to be available.

12/15: LX Pantos canceled at 8:00 am, which strongly suggests it was never genuinely scheduled or intended.

12/19: First no call no show. We watched the tracking as the truck delivered around our local area and skipped our delivery entirely. Zero communication. No call, no text, no email.

12/26: A "pacification date." We were told this was the rescheduled delivery date, but the truck never even left the yard. Again, zero proactive communication from LX Pantos.

01/02/2026: Fifth failed delivery and second no call no show. We again watched the truck deliver around our local area and skip us.

Dishonesty and contradictory statements:
At one point, LX Pantos recommended that we cancel and replace the order so LG could assign a different delivery service. That would have caused us to lose Black Friday discounts and incentives. Later, LG stated they cannot or will not change the carrier. Those statements cannot both be true. Either LX Pantos misled us, or LG refused to do what LX Pantos claimed was possible.

On the most recent failure (01/02/2026), we contacted both LG and LX Pantos multiple times. Both verified they had our correct address and phone number. LX Pantos stated the products were on the truck and we were scheduled for delivery that day, and said they would text the driver to provide a delivery window. We were also told separately that providing a delivery window was not possible. Despite repeated calls, the end result was yet another failed delivery and another no call no show.

Accountability failure:
LG chose LX Pantos and refused to enforce accountability after repeated failures. The response from LG support was corporate rhetoric and rescheduling, and at times the only "solution" offered was essentially "we could cancel the order," as if the customer is the problem.

Impact:
Cabinetry was modified in anticipation of installing the wall oven. This process left us without a working oven during the holidays. We lost significant time, rearranged work schedules repeatedly, and received no meaningful follow-through.

Bottom line:
This is not a product quality complaint. It is a warning about buying direct from LG and the fulfillment and support experience. Buyer beware: LG doesn't care once they have your money.

On June 13,2025, I was promised by LG Electronics that they would provide a specific part for self-repair on my LG dryer. I was required to sign a legal document agreeing to their terms in order to receive this part. Since that date, no part has been sent, and LG has repeatedly failed to follow through on their commitment. Between June 13 and August 8,2025, I have made 11 separate phone calls to LG support. I have also submitted or responded to 23 messages/emails and spent hours on hold and on the phone with their representatives. Despite this, I have received nothing but false promises, non-working discount codes, and continued delays. Each time I call, I am told someone will return my call within 24–48 hours. Not once has that happened. I have been told the issue is "escalated" repeatedly. I have been assured "a resolution is coming soon" — every time. Nothing has changed. Most recently, I was hung up on by a representative when I expressed frustration at being misled for nearly two months. At no point has LG honored its written or verbal commitments. This behavior is deceptive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable for a company of this size. Requested Resolution: I am requesting the following: Immediate shipment of the part I was promised under the original agreement signed on June 13,2025. A formal apology from LG for the miscommunication, poor service, and time wasted. LG should be held accountable for their repeated failure to follow through, and their representatives should stop making false commitments that mislead consumers. Customer Background:
I have been a loyal LG customer for over 13 years and have never experienced such poor service. This complaint is being submitted in good faith after exhausting every reasonable attempt to resolve the issue directly with the company.

This has been a terrible freaking service. I purchased a vacuum. It only lasted a month and I had to sit it in for repair the box that they sent me was too small. So finally feb 20th they send the right box size and I send in my receipt of purchase and paper work for the repair, On march 18 I received my vacuum back but only had the self empty/charging stand and the stick. So here we are after 20 calls, 15 chats, and 3 weeks of text says they can't do anything about it bc the proof of purchase is invalid. I will never by an LG product again..

I got an LG tv less than a year and a half ago and now a vertical line suddenly shows up on the screen in certain blue hues. I called LG and they had me do a screen test and text them a bunch of pictures and immediately agreed that the entire panel needed replacing BUT that I'd have to pay the repair with a local company off their list…. The companies I was given either didn't answer, had a disconnected phone, have terrible online reviews, had an attitude issue. Finally I got one to give me a price, almost $400 without tax. I begged LG to cover the labor cost because I didn't do anything do damage the TV and all they could tell me is that their 5 year warranty only covers parts, but within the 1st year they would've covered labor too. Despite it being a defective product. So I'm expected to pay $400 plus tax out of the blue, terrible service and limited sympathy. They weren't kind about it either.

Purchased Signature Suite of appliances for new kitchen less than 6 months ago. Now on a first name basis with repairman. Twice for fridge and once for dishwasher. Last night could not turn off the "convection" mode on oven. Tried as advised in owners manual and ended up on the phone with "customer service". Call taker had heavy accent making clear communications almost impossible. After a short few minutes she said she would transfer me to "Signature representative". Five long minutes later i got a recorded message saying "due to the corona virus our customer service centers are understaffed. We will not be able to assist you at this time".

Disgusting
March 6, 2025

An absolute nightmare dealing with LG service centre they close cases forcing you to start again then days and days of continuous calling and finally getting someone from the technical support team they argue that there is nothing wrong with the machine. So I had to read sections from the manual to the tec support person and he still didn't understand the issue and still kept saying there is nothing wrong. So I kept reading the same section and he'd agree that the manual was right but still nothing wrong with my machine. So I kept asking if the machine doesn't do what the manual says it should do doesn't that mean the machine isn't working properly? And he couldn't understand. They are even trying to get me to pay for repairs on a machine that's less than a year old and still has 4 years warranty on it. I will never buy anything LG again and recommend people avoid this company purely because of the terrible quality of the products and the absolute disgusting service of the service center. We shouldn't have to go through this and we shouldn't have to go thru the degree or length of terrible service just to get something under warranty fixed. Avoid Avoid Avoid at all costs!

I bought a fridge. 2 years later. Supposedly the freezer fan died. It is a fan. It's only purpose is to spin.

No ice, or frost. But, "somehow" its dead.

Buy a fan to cool your house? Lasts forever...

So, how does a fan. Die. 2 years later. With no hinderance? Tell me...

LG has a class action lawsuit about this.

Why? Fridges before did not have computers that can time when, "parts break down".

Tv Broke after 3 months, called to get it repaired, radio static for 2 weeks, called back, there's nothing they can do, so now it's going to a refund, get the invoice for a refund amount, the refund amount is wrong, they're stealing money from customers. Call customer service more, no response, get disconnected, and everyone is completely unhelpful/unknowledgeable

My brand new LG dryer left my clothes damp. Best Buy and local appliance repair would not come as would void warranty. After wasting hours with their on-live AI chat bot agent, I finally got through via telephone. They had me repeat an ineffective, time consuming internal-electronic test many times, which resulted in no error messages they could identify. They then had me reset the machine, "clean" the sensor, and alter my dryer loads, all of which did not change the results of my damp clothes. Each agent told me "this would be the last troubleshooting maneuver" I would need to do before they would approve of sending a repair person. All 3 of the agents I spoke with lied, because when I called back, they still refused to send a repair person. Needed a replacement remote control for my LG Smart TV. Curry's didn't want to know as the TV was out of guarantee. Got in touch with LG uk and found that they were in stock. Went to order one and they completely refused to send it to me as I live in Northern Ireland. They are happy to sell their products in Northern Ireland through Curry's, Harvey Norman, Euronics, Argos and independent retailers. If you live in Northern Ireland do not buy LG products!
Also, have a look at their Trustpilot ratings. They don't give a toss.

Will never buy LG again.
January 22, 2025

I have never encountered customer service as terrible as this! I've been misled, abruptly disconnected, and transferred to incorrect departments multiple times. I've opened cases without any follow-up, escalated issues to "corporate," and still received no response. This entire ordeal began with a refrigerator repair and a flat rate purchase agreement. After 5 or 6 repair visits with incorrect information, I was eventually informed that the unit was beyond repair—only after I expressed my frustration. After the third repair, I was assured that the refrigerator was functioning properly, so I bought groceries. However, after returning from vacation (which coincided with the Thanksgiving holiday), I discovered that all the food had spoiled! The call center representatives are completely incompetent and seem to have no understanding of their departments, simply reading from a script without addressing the actual issues. I have ALL products in my home and have began the process of removing them. I will never purchase another LG product and will go out of my way too make sure everyone I know does the same.

We ordered 3 kitchen appliances from LG (fridge, range and dishwasher). On the day of delivery, the team informed me that they had all 3 units but only 1 of the 3 installation kits. Someone was supposed to come back with the missing kits and finish the installation 2 days later, but they called us at 6:30pm the day of the appointment to say that they don't have the kits and wouldn't be coming. We then got another appointment scheduled a few days later that was then canceled and moved to Christmas Eve. We then moved it to a day that worked and the team called and AGAIN they do not have the kits. We called LG, as they apparently haven't shipped them to the delivery company, and they said that we would have an update on when they would be available with in the next 48-72 hours. We are currently 10 days past the original, scheduled delivery and installation day with NO idea when these units will be installed. We do not have a functioning kitchen and LG doesn't seem to be bothered that we paid them for a service that has not be completed and the timing of completion hasn't been clearly communicated. Buyer beware.

Lg customer service sucks
November 18, 2024

Ordered a washer dryer combo they said it would be delivered a certain day that day came and I heard from noon one. So I called they said eco had not received them yet so I waited until Monday I called they still hadn't received it. I finally got a text message that they received and wanted to set up a date and time. So I go in to choose and the earliest they had was 2 weeks away. Lg would rather cancel a 2,000 dollar order than fix the problem so I guess they are making too much money and don't need my business.

23.00 part no longer made on over 500.00 microwave. Over range microwave is not even 10 years old. Do not buy LG. Dryer replaced 5 rollers 3 times. Each roller is 32.00 x 5 x 3 = 480.00. LG refrigerator less than 10 year old, paid to replace compressor labor was 500.00. Didn't work after repairs completed. If you like to was money buy LG.

Product quality
October 8, 2024

I bought an LG dishwasher. The wheels on the top rack were broke. They are held on by hard plastic but somehow two of them were broke. I contacted Home Depot which is where I bought it and they contacted LG. LG agreed to send a new top rack to replace the original. The new rack arrived but there were no wheels attached to it. Went to the store and spoke to a manager who sent an email to their CS and said they would contact me on Monday but that never happened. I texteded Home Depot on Tuesday. They received word from LG that t wheels would be sent to me so I can attach them. Here is what also makes me angry. I should not have to attach the wheels myself since the dishwasher is BRAND NEW, I haven't even used it. The manager at Home Depot should take the initiative and follow thru to make sure I was called and issue resolved. The thrill of having a brand new appliance has been lost. I will not use Home Depot again nor will I ever use LG products. I long for the mom-and-pop appliance stores of yesteryear.

LG is a scam
October 3, 2024

I am extremely disappointed with LG products. I spent 4000 euros on a TV, and after just a few hours of use, dead pixels appeared. The representatives told me I could just throw it away. After doing some online research, I noticed that LG doesn't have a review section, probably because there are so many dissatisfied customers. I sent emails both to the representatives and to the headquarters, but I haven't received any response. From the information I found online, the same problem appears for many other customers who bought LG TVs. The conclusion is clear: LG is a scam. I used to have a very good opinion about Korean companies, but it seems I was terribly wrong.
