The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to frequent reports of scams and unresponsive sellers. I put a motor for sale on let go for 100$ the guy who was going to buy it sent me 2 Fraudulant checks the first of which I deposited in my bank and they just now figured out it was fake the guy tried to send me a second one which I kept and am taking to the police. How can you create a site and not protect people from scam artists. That guy is a piece of garbage to have tried to do that to me thankfully I'm sure he will be getting his back
Well to start with. I have sold a couple of low Buck things. Without a lot of Trouble. But if you look at anything on the site it Lies to the seller telling them your interested. And of course they reply back and you have to explain your not buying just looking and it's a Huge Mess. I'm selling a Harley and I'm getting the same thing happening to me. It absolutely Ridiculous! Oh yeah and another thing if you have anything of value DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! TRUST ME YOU WILL BE SORRY. They will pester you with Stupid questions and RIDICULOUS offers not even on the same planet. This site is not worth the Hassle. Oh and Yet one MORE thing. No replys back... GOOD LUCK.
Letgo site doesn't work. Won't load reliably, ads disappear. I could do a better job setting this up using GoDaddy. You would think with their advertising budget they would have hired someone other than the village idiot to design their site.
What a bunch of amateurs!
Let go is the worst platform to sell. Nothing but scams! Poorest website and people trying to beat you with everything you can think of! Too much haggling. Everyone thinks that you are selling fake counterfeit items. I will not recommend this
So my second time using the app. I thought I should give it another try. The first time, I loaded many items on app and was easy with my prices. I got one offer on about 6 things in a week. The offer wasn't very good. Now the second time I have video games. Two different people say hi and they're "interested". I respond with follow-up. Nothing. Complete waste of my time as a seller and am going to sell them on Ebay instead.
There are ample reviews describing the numerous technical problems with this app. Top complaint is receiving pings around the clock, primarily from letgo and not buyers. As a seller I can say it's a complete waste of time. 95% of buyers use the auto reply, followed by "hit the wrong button". People have the audacity to request delivery on free items. Edit an ad and it will likely be flagged as a duplicate listing and deleted. Craigslist is far more efficient. If you use this app, only accept cash.
I'm a seller and I've sold many things on the site. Yes buyers will haggle over the price but that is expected as I'm selling use items. Everyone I've meet have been nice. That includes people I've meet outdoors and people who came to pick up large items. Treat the site like an online garage sell and only take cash. I don't take checks or money orders only cash. Just like a garage sell cash only, but haggling is ok
Don't put your expensive items up for sale. It will say the money cleared but really didn't. Then let go tell you to call pay pal! It was sold on let go not pay pal.
I take good pictures, edit them well, insert Text Boxes with KEY information... to Sell Items. I do not need "LIKES"... to sell a Patio Table Set with NO DELIVERY. Within the first 3 days I had 23 likes... so many requests to deliver... I did finally sell to a very nice lady who followed my advice and rented a Home Depot Flatbed to get it home.
How do you stop getting notices for Searched Items? At first I looked to get a feel for the APP... even though I did not check the box to get notices... I get new notices all the time for items that I searched.
Note to those who are considering this... think GARAGE SALE MENTALITY for most of the participants... if you say $300, they say $150... and when they arrive they pull out $75, hiding the rest in their car hoping to get you at a desperate time to where you take the lesser. Today, people have little integrity... again, think SOCIAL MEDIA and consider all the behaviors that are manifested... you are going to see it with LETGO.
LETGO needs to up their game, improve their searches, improve the functionality for the end user to be able to Manage their own account versus actions being locked into stone, leading to frustration and deletion of the APP... as I have done.
In the words of one of the other reviewers "This site sucks"! I don't know who writes the search algorithm for this site but they need to go back to school. When you search for anything you end up with dozens of absolutely non related items. If you log on from your PC you can't get your messages that you have on your app version. Offerup, on the other hand, works much better. Still a few issues but they actually give you the items you're looking for.
It has my location wrong. Cannot figure out how to change anything pn my profile. Hard to answer questions.
Totally worthless
I am fed up with bots and people who want to get something for nothing. This is not a good site to sell nice items. First and foremost, Letgo should remove those quick response buttons especially the one that says I'm interested. Usually the people are far away so it means they don't even read the ad. Craig's list is much more user friendly in making connections. There are no worthless click on buttons. People have to know how to write. There are the usual suspects on any selling site but you just have to be careful. Only take cash, bank check or money order. Meet at a public place.
Nothing but bots and people that can't afford anything nice. Do not put anything of value on here, maybe some used shoes or a microwave but its trash. I think let go should just take their app down, it does more damage then good for people that are looking to sell
Full disclosure, I have sold 2 items on here. However, that was after lord knows how many bots asked me about it. My phone goes off so much because of this crap it just dies.
Stop using bots you morons. All you're doing is creating an atmosphere where anyone can't be trusted. I mean seriously, who in your marketing department thought this was a viable business plan? Fire that person. Then fire yourselves.
I used to like letgo, just for the fact of it being another place to look for classified ads. But with my experience today with the website was absolutely horrid. Literally whatever I search I still get the same results, I was trying to find a video card, and i kept seeing the same product over and over, even when I expanded my location. If someone would like to explain to me what a diamond plated watch has to do with tech, I'd be very grateful. The whole website is all about favouritism, so don't expect people to view your product from the website. The app however is genuinely somewhat usable, I actually bought a computer off my mobile device. But I would still recommend staying away from letgo. If you have to use it, use the app.
I like using letgo but a while back they changed something to enable quick interest by tapping the thumbnail of an item in a certain way. This is very frustrating as a buyer or seller as fat thumbs can cause interest to show when you are just trying to select an item to view and learn more about it. The first few times I did this as a buyer I was annoyed, but it's worse from a sellers perspective as you receive messages of interest with now follow up as the interest wasn't genuine. Please consider removing that "feature"
These meet in person apps aren't safe. I as a buyer was supposed to meet with a seller to purchase an item. Of course I had to be the one to drive all the way to the sellers home, out of my way. The seller was in bed when I got there. After knocking and knocking could hear people inside talking. Trailer walls are kinda thin it seems. So left. Seller finally woke and hoped I could come back. Turned around went back. The area to get to the door was muddy and gross and kinda steep. The seller opened the door and had various people laying around doing nothing but smoking, no one even lifted a finger to help me remove the item, which was kinda large and bulky. They were just concerned one of their animals would escape as I struggled to get out the door. Luckily I didn't break my neck. Unfortunately the item smelled liked a chimney so never used it. The whole thing was regrettable. I much prefer an app where I can buy items and have them shipped.
Every item I have ever posted on this app has been haggled to the point of insulation, literally less than 1/5 of the asking price is normal for someone on this app, then once you meet the people, they wanna haggle more thinking they have the upper hand because your wanting to "letgo", I guess the name implies the nature of the people! Stay away from all people who deal on this app, I have not had one good interaction/message/transaction!
I was aware of letgo and decided to give it a try to liquidate some of my electronic items. To this point, I am utterly disappointed to say the least. Several people expressed interest in the two items I wished to sell (a high-end tablet and a laptop). I had arranged to meet a perspective buyer of the tablet in a public eatery. I confirmed the meeting the day before and the day of. The buyer said they were not working and would not be busy on the day we arranged. At the last minute, the buyer contacted me saying they were busy and couldn't make it. Another buyer who expressed interest in the tablet wanted me to text them outside of the usage of the app to further negotiate on the price of the tablet. Someone who expressed interest in the laptop wanted to wire me money or alternately send money to my checking account. Two other individuals that expressed interest in the tablet attempted to haggle me down to accepting 25% of what I originally paid for both items. Both the tablet and laptop are still for sale.
Answer: I worked as a reviewer for several sites and when they have very little reviews or no reviews people like me are paid to say how great they are. You can verify these in Amazon reviews some of them praise items like there is no tomorrow full pages of nice reviews. When you see the contradicting reviews go for the bad one is the honest one.
