The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to frequent reports of scams and unresponsive sellers. Users express frustration over the prevalence of non-serious buyers and automated responses that hinder genuine transactions. Concerns about safety and a lack of effective customer support are also prominent, with many customers feeling neglected when issues arise. Although some users have found success in selling through the platform, the overall sentiment leans heavily towards disappointment, suggesting a pressing need for improved oversight and customer service to enhance user experience and trust.

Just started using this selling app. It hard to search a particular item. When you search, it shows other things in the search. It's hard to search by price, category or distance. People also sell things way higher. It's frustrating as heck. Offer Up is 10 times better!
Lots of interest and little buyers - makes me wonder who's real. Also, people clicking "interested" from far, far away. Strange app - not of much use that I can see.
Annoyed by all those "I'm interested". Messages and "Is it still available" messages that lead to nothing, except an occasional apology from someone who says they didn't know they sent a message or did so by accident.
Weeeell... it's not exactly by accident.
I have over 50 items listed all the time and my phone is always blowing up with letgo automated messages from people not really interested in buying anything, hence much wasted time all throughout the day and night going to letgo chats, s sending replies and 99% of the time never receiving a reply.
Before I go any further, Id like to say I think letgo is possibly one of the lamest selling sites I've used. Most people either seem to not know how to use the site or are too lazy to click on MORE INFO to see where an item is located and read details about the item.
Soo anyway...
When anyone scrolls down the page looking at all the items posted, simply touching any picture arrow or paper plane or whatever you wanna call it on the right hand side of the main picturr will automatically send a message to the seller.
It's Letgos way of kinda spamming sellers to respond to people looking. Its a trick to basically get sellers to make contact, solicit buyers, get buyers attention, create activity or whatever you wanna call it.
I personally just respond back with yes it for sale 2-3 times and move on. Many times of I eceive automated or let's call it pre selected inquiries, I just ignore them.
Letgo is laid out for lazy people pure and simple. Problem is, its lazier for potential buyers than for hopeful sellers.
Bottom line changes to be made in how Letgo works, otherwise the annoying lameness for sellers will continue.
I keep hoping Letgo will letgo and shut down so everyone can find a better, more personal way to buy and sell one where the buyer has to actually do some work.
You used to be able to take pics from the app, now you always have to go to your gallery, to many steps. And you also used to be able to repost your items after 7 days. Well that option is gone. It's not nearly as user friendly as it used to be, and all of you complaining about people contacting you then radio silence. It depends on fast you get back to them. Most of them are impulse buyers. Also if they lowball you. JUST SAY NO! It's called negotiating. Just come back with a doable price. Or put "firm" on your post and that should eliminate most of the lowballing. And if you don't hear back. Try contacting them again. People are busy. Most of the time when I contact a possible buyer again they respond with an apology. It seems like most of the people complaining don't know what there doing and expect the buyer to do all the work. And those of you blaming Letgo cuz you got ripped off? THAT'S YOUR OWN CARELESS FAULT. Use some common sense.
Regularly get supposed interest from "interested" buyers who either go dark, don't respond, suddenly change their mind in 30 minutes, or mysteriously "bought another one" before you arrange a time to meet. These are all Bots for fake buyers Letgo manufacturers to make users think they have a chance with app. The AG's office should investigate.
I am so frustrated that people in my area have moved from Craigslist to LetGo. This app is soooososo annoying to use. Posting is a pain. Once you've made your post it will probably get lots of hits, followed but you being bombarded with what I assume aren't bots but people literally accidentally pinging you with automated responses because of how horrible the app design is. You will see how easy it is to do this just by scrolling on letgo. I always thought the name of the app itself is what inspires people to lowball like nowhere else. I hate it. But if I want to sell stuff now I'm stuck using it aren't I.
This app has no security and there's a lot of scams. It's not safe. Yesterday I met with the person who was going to "buy" my phone and he stole it from me and ran away. I had to call the police and they told this is happening very often. Please spread the words. This has to stop. I lost a lot of money
I kept getting messages from people who say they are interested in the items for sale. After a while I noticed that there was a pattern. Everyone expressed interest and then disappeared. I think it's just bots they have to make people think the app is doing well.
It is unreliable, always comes up saying oops something went wrong. I'm tired of it and will delete. Unfortunately i have and active post that I can't respond to.
The app is an obvious scam to get lots of users to boost the value of the app. The reason they have so many users is because you cant delete your own account. I have complained, written, followed all directions to request they cancel my account, and they NEVER RESPOND. I CANT GET MY PROFILE REMOVED. This should be criminal.
I have been very successful selling things on this app, and I like that you can review your buyers after the sale. People please try to vet you're interested people and make sure you have a well populated place to meet and a designated time. Message them again about an hour before you're to meet to make sure they are coming before you spend your time traveling there. If people do not show up within 20 minutes and you cannot contact them, leave and just report them as a bad buyer! I see some of the reviews of people waiting two hours that's ridiculous! Leave and move on! I did fill out a survey on letgo and told them The reason I only rated a 3 Star is because of that annoying Allison robot that keeps messaging me trying to re-list my items for $1.99! I have tried blocking her but she still sends her messages through and annoys me! Because of her I am seriously considering dropping let go.
They started using some automated selling service who keeps contacting you even though you blocked them out of a desire to keep things simple and hassle free. Allison, please give me a break and leave me alone to sell what I want when I want. Appreciate it thanks!
Sold a few products but other than that it is all spam, extreme lowballers and worst of all people you set times with and they never show up.
So I was trying to sell my tv and all I got were serious lowball offers from people and spam. I ended just pawning my tv and got more for it than I would've on that website. I have since asked numerous times for their so-called "customer service" to delete my account, but they haven't done it. It is beyond frustrating. Selling things online isn't worth it and can be very tough anyway, but using Letgo makes it not worth the frustration.
People will say they're interested and want to buy but then soon go ghost when I ask when they want to pick up... Seems like the app is fake.
I reported the seller and had to go to the police and they never did anything. She's literally STILL selling them
I don't think anyone actally buys stuff from this app. I get nothing but spam and an Allisonbot asking me to pay to post stuff over and over. Turns out its it's their own Bot dking this! I blocked it but it still comes up. I loaded 30 things and the UX sucks and automatically just loads one pic. I have sold nothing through them. Seems like a huge scam. How are they still in business?,
Once you place an ad, you get all kinds of reactions and think it's great, but you fast realize every response is a button response people can click instead of talking to you. Instead of typing a question, you click which question you want. Then you reply and none of them ever reply back to you, ever. So then you realize the staff or a computer just sends the pre-scripted buttons to you. There isn't anyone there. I got one reply that seemed from a human and it was to offer 1/5 of the cost of my item so I didn't reply.
It was so easy to sell and get messages on your items but now this app is horrible. First off, Allison is ridiculously annoying. Shes a spam bot who messages you even after you've blocked her several times, wanting to repost your items. I dont need or want your spam bots help, Let go. Let's get it together and LET HER GO! Second, I honestly feel like because I dont want to "feature" my item it's not being advertised as much. I get no message, none. Not even ppl inquiring if price is negotiable. This app has let me down as I use to use it before with no issues and be able to sell things very quickly. I dont know why they made all these changes, I'm not happy.
Some kid wanted to buy a graphics card off me and offered $250. I agreed and waited 2 hours for him at some random's house since he said he was 22 and that he was a youtuber. I tried to verify him as a "legit buyer" but failed so I decided to choose a home that wasn't mine to be safe. I waited 2 hours for him in the hot sun for him to show up but he never did. Threatened to send food to the house and he listed it for sale as "rent"
This app needs more verification to prevent bots and little kids.
Answer: I worked as a reviewer for several sites and when they have very little reviews or no reviews people like me are paid to say how great they are. You can verify these in Amazon reviews some of them praise items like there is no tomorrow full pages of nice reviews. When you see the contradicting reviews go for the bad one is the honest one.
