Representatives will repeatedly lie to you to get you off the phone. I was told my LLC paperwork was submitted to the state yesterday and it would be at least five days before they hear back from the state. Little did they know, I had the paperwork in my hand (downloaded from the state's website) and the director of the state's Department of Corporations on the phone with a three way call while Legal Zoom is telling me they haven't heard back yet. The director told me (after Legal Zoom hung up) "We responded to that file yesterday."

Set up an LLC back in 2014. Still can't get my EIN, the IRS has idea who I am. Legal zoom says they submitted my SS4. After almost a year a asked them to submit it again. That was a month ago, still nothing. Can't confirm they are doing anything.
This is crazy as other companies I used confirm, sent me a copy of confirmation and paperwork was done and received with 20 days.
Not to mention the hold times at all times of day. I think my average is around 15-20 minutes. They always have high call volumes, but reading all of the bad reviews I would suggest another reason is probably the case.

I had to cancel my order because Legalzoom never got back to me or I could not reach then bacause their customer care wait times are more than 100-140 minutes...

This company will slap all kinds of "services" to your account without your knowledge or consent; then good luck trying to remove them and getting a refund! They will have you jumping through hoops, and claim it's their "protocol".
I really felt cheated and strong-armed. I will never do business with LegalZoom again, and I will make sure anyone I know won't either.

I thought it would be more efficient and cost effective to go through LegalZoom to submit my request for a patent. I also thought LZ could refer me to the correct attornies to assist with submitting a patenet request. After spending thousands of dollars i found that i did all the work and they basically didn't help on completing any research, meaning giving any counsel on the idea. They only confirmed feedback from the US Patent Office, which is really at a point that is too late. I requested a "book" through LZ from the US patent office proving many many patents that might be similar to what i was suggesting. With my limited knowledge on how this worked and what to look for I didn't find anything that seemed to be similar to my suggestion. With the years of experience of the Huntington Beach law firm that LZ recommended I worked with they did nothing to help. After I got the no from the US patent office the reasons why they said I could not get a patent were for reasons that any reputible, and experienced patent attorney would have, or should have caught long before the final answer came. I am now out several thousand dollars for very poor service through the attorney's office. I would never recommend LegalZoom to anyone that wants a serious legal experience working with competent people. Take your business to a local, reputible law office. Also, I gave a one star only because there is no option to not give any starts or negative stars.

I placed my order three weeks ago and I still have nothing to show for it. Even worse, I have gotten several emails and robocalls from LegalZoom telling me that they were waiting for me to sign paperwork so they could process my order. Each time I contacted service because I had not received the documents. Each time customer service assured me that the calls and emails were premature and that my documents were still in drafting. Each time they assured me that I would get the documents either that day or the next business day. I'm still waiting. I will never use LZ again.

My name change paperwork contained duplicate pages, blank pages, and insufficient information on obtaining the required background check. The customer service rep was not helpful. Rather than helping me solve the problem, he just kept stating I could do whatever I wanted with the paperwork (i. E. make corrections myself, fill out blank pages myself, etc.). He did not have a copy of my paperwork to review along with me and did not seem to have any understanding of what it is the company he works for actually does. I ended up having to start from scratch on my own. Enormous waste of money.

I'm still waiting for a callback- when I emailed about an address error on paperwork it was ignored. As the other reviewers state, the hold times are outrageously long, and upon getting an email reply, I found the irrelevant response frustrating. Signed docs electronically to find the error was not fixed. Unable to get someone on phone, so I suppose I'm just another sucker to them. Pay an attorney- don't waste your hard-earned money on this lack of professionalism.

I was trying to get my business entity transferred to another state. Promises, promises... but no results yet. Order started in May and now we are in September. I've called several times, with poor customer service, promises that, that particular agent would see the order through, stalling, confirmation of stalling, more promises and still no results.

I tried to set up a company, just to experiment. I never set it up, did not set up a tax id. However, legalzoom kept charging me monthly for some form services, and also charged me for registered agent services. I called to cancel, they did not cancel. I had to call my bank to stop payment.
Now, for the company that is not even operating, Legalzoom has sent me a letter (third n notice) saying I am in collection. For what?
