I bought this one because I wanted a light color for better visibility and wearing in the summer sun in Florida. It has turned out to be the right-stuff. A bit too warm at stops but amazing venting/cooling when under way. If yopu do perspire a bit, that only serves to cool you when you get going. The air just flows through it but you feel secure in its protective capabilities. The added armor adds litttle or no weight that is noticeable when wearing it. PLUS, it looks so cool with all of the "attachments" and hardware on it. As for winter riding, yes it does get into the 30s in Florida, like this week, you just zip in the quilted liner - easy to do - and it is plenty warm. The price speaks for itself - terrific. I am back to buy two other jackets, can't have too many, with one of them for my wife. She is just starting riding.

I bought this jacket based on the overwhelmingly positive remarks. It is absolutely a summer jacket. I did ride in this jacket on 50 degree weather for half hour with no problem. The mesh really keep you cool. Outer pocket design is great more functional than pockets at waist. One thing that I don't like is the cuff. Why use heavy thick cuff when jacket is intend to be for summer use. The cuff is so thick that when you remove the jacket, you ended up removing the lining which is poorly attached. My solution was to remove the cuff completely. Who needs it. XElement should have use zipper instead. Other model that I bought use zipper and it works like charm.

Overall, I like the jacket. Will use it in warmer weather, and the other model when it is colder.

Great jacket. I live in Texas. When it's hot and I sweat, this jacket sure feels good when getting up to speed. The incoming air goes through the vents and, honest injun, it feels almost like air conditioning. My only complaint is that the sleeve cuff is too tight -- makes it hard to take off and put on. I'm sure they will loosen up with use but right now they make me not want to put it on. I'm sure they will feel better come the cooler weather.

I give it 3 stars. It's a very light duty jacket. The light nylon material is the same thickness on the shoulders and elbows that's on the front. Most cycle jackets use thicker material at those potential impacts spots. The overall quality appears pretty good, but this is not a jacket for cool weather, even with the liner. The mesh always flows lots of air- even when it's cold. It's most noticeable to me on the arms, even with the liner, and there's no way to turn off the air flow. You'll want a different jacket for the cold. See those cloth tabs on the front chest pockets? Pretty stupid looking... and they flap in the wind- but they're easy to remove. My main criticism is the elastic sleeve cuffs. They use wide, heavy duty elastic, but even on my thin wrists they're extremely constrictive and uncomfortable. I haven't crash tested it, but I suppose if you plan on using this only for warm weather, it's better than a jacket with no padding- or, obviously, no jacket.

On the plus side, the quality appears good (if thin in spots) it fits well (except the cuffs), and looks pretty good if you take those stupid tabs off. I'm long waisted and wish the fit was longer (I got the medium), but it does have a zipper attachment for pants.

I really like the style,color, and the how well the jacket breaths. The bad thing is the inner wrist cuffs. They are really tight. They were designed to keep out cold air but this jacket is definitely a warmer weather jacket. Without the liner, this thing really lets the air flow. With liner in, its makes a great spring jacket. I would not use it in colder weather. It is now at alterations having the inner wrist cuffs removed. If not for this, it would rate five rather than four.
