The boots themselves are 5 stars. It took leatherup about 2 months to get them back in stock but when they did become available, I received an email with a link to the boots and bought them immediately. After I ordered them, I received an email that they would ship within 2 days. 1 hour later, the order was processed and shipped out. That's some crazy fast service.

These boots feel like an extension of my feet. They are flexible but sturdy. You do have to order a half size smaller because they run big. Excellent boots, I am in LOVE!

For the money they're great! The color is pretty much as depicted in the picture, more dark toffe than dark brown. The leather is pretty soft, the only negative that I've noticed is that they are a little heavy, more than I like my shoes to be, but I've also seen even heavier boots out there. If you like the style of this boot I'd say try it and decide for yourself. I keept my pair and it became my almost everyday boot. Thanks Leatherup!

These made the perfect Christmas gift for the Mrs. The boots look great, the uppers are made from a really soft and supple leather and she said that they almost felt like they were broke in already. Both the heel and sole can be replaced when they wear out - so that was a nice bonus. I am really happy with this purchase. My wife wears a size 7 1/2, but based on all the feedback here I DID order 1/2 size smaller (I ordered a size 7) and the fit was perfect.

I had been lusting after the Frye boots. I kept coming back to them again and again but couldn't bring myself to pay $200+. So after googling "frye harness boot knock offs" I was elated to find an alternative at leatherup.com. These boots are perfect in every way. The quality is outstanding and the look is perfect. And that leather smell...

Two things to note:

1) the XElement logo on the outside of the heel is perfectly covered by the harness on my boots. It slouches just perfect and you can't even see it

2) there is a small kind-of logo on the front of the boot shaft that says "oil rubbed leather" or similar. You don't really notice it when you're wearing it and it can't be seen from any kind of distance, but it was a surprise to me. Doesn't change my opinion, though.

I've had several people ask if they are Fryes, so you can bet they are what you're looking for if you're anything like me.

If you can't tell by now, I didn't buy these for they're work boot qualifications, so I can't attest to their comfort in that scenario. As a "casual" wearer they are super comfortable and they're beginning to feel like "my" boots from the inside out after just a couple of days.

Really nice leather, good construction. The toe box is substantial with very stiff leather that needs to be worked in. Get one half size down. I'm an 8 and got a 7. Too small so I returned them (super easy) and got a 71/2. The fit was a little snug but I've been riding in them for awhile now and they've loosened up as all well-constructed leather boots do. These boots with skinny jeans make me look like a pirate! Thanks Leatherup! I'll be back...Haaaarrr!

I wanted a pair of boots to match my husband's. I wear a true women's size 7M 99% of the time. I read the reviews recommending going down a 1/2 size. LeatherUp was out of size 7 and only had 1 pair of 6-1/2 left so I took a chance and ordered them. These boots took about 15 minutes to slightly break in. They fit me perfect, so yes, down size by a 1/2 size. I'm so glad I did. I can wear them all day and forget I have boots on, a first for me. I usually can't stand boots for more than a few hours and can't wait to get them off, but not these puppies, they are extremely comfortable on my feet. I love the way they look with my jeans!
