LeatherUp Reviews Summary

The company has garnered a solid reputation for product quality and value, with many customers expressing satisfaction with their purchases, particularly in terms of craftsmanship and timely delivery. However, customer service experiences reveal a significant concern regarding slow response times and difficulties in handling returns and refunds. While some customers eventually received resolutions, the inconsistency in support has led to frustration. Overall, while the company excels in product offerings, enhancing the efficiency and responsiveness of customer service would greatly improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Spacious tour pack. I like
October 10, 2019

Spacious tour pack. I like the removable roll, which can be used daily.

One downside is that my backrest is too low for the upper strap (on the main pack) to be useful.

Therefore, I only use the lower strap, and then have to use a couple bungee cords to hold the large pack securely to my luggage rack.

The rain cover is a nice bonus as well.

Excellent choice. Fits great on
October 10, 2019

Excellent choice. Fits great on my '05 Road* w/ sissy bar (stardard height) and luggage rack. The lower velcro strap went under my passenger back rest the upper strap went around the middle of the back rest. Rain fly fits snuggly around bag and covered the passenger back rest without any flapping and everything stayed dry. Throw away the nylon cords that come with it and get a couple bungee cords to secure the D rings on the bag to the sissy bar/luggage rack, this just help keep things stable. The internal plastic support holds the big (lower) bags shape well, just wish there was something similiar for the upper round bag. Just don't pack it top heavy, 1300 miles, 4 days around Lake Superior 2 days of interminent rain with zero problems. Took less than 30 seconds to put it on/off the bike and it has LOTS of space.

Great value and fits right
October 10, 2019

Great value and fits right on my Stryker. I like the fact that I can take it down to smaller components for day trips or load it all on for longer rides.

Great product for the money!
October 10, 2019

Great product for the money! Strapped on my HD Heritage Softail Classic, and the fit was perfect. I agree with another buyer, I'm going to use tie down chords for extra securing when travelling. TLW, northern VA

First of all, this pack
October 10, 2019

First of all, this pack is HUGE! I bought it to throw on my 2004 Low Rider for weekend trips. It is pretty wide for my bike, but it has enough straps to make it easy to put on and take off. I use the barrel bag and the main tour pack separately: the barrel bag stays on my luggage rack all the time and is probably the most useful day-to-day piece of luggage I own. I don't ride 2-up, so I just put the tour pack on my passenger seat when I want to travel (makes an excellent back rest). It is built tough but adds a touch of class with the studs and conchos. I also had it in the rain without the rain covers on for about 15 minutes and my gear stayed bone-dry inside. I love the heavy-duty Velcro closures. If you want to be able to pack everything you need and still have room to spare, I suggest that you pick up this set. You won't be disappointed. By the way...this set matches the looks of a Heritage Softail to a T.

I bought this to replace
October 10, 2019

I bought this to replace my old one from a different company. This pack is more than what I had expected. Its not too Large to make thr bike unstable. Not too small that I cannot fit my daily ride articles within its compartments. I keep it on my bike all the time. Lot people think it looks like a small suitcase but there not bike riders. I have had it for about a month and have been very satisfied with it. I dont use the helmet bag, unless I am on a long ride, but it fits two helmets comfortable, with room to spare. Price is right, and I do recommend this for the touring bikers. I always shop Xelement, havent been disappointed.

You get what you pay
October 10, 2019

You get what you pay for, yes and no. This bag was larger than I expected. Really functional. I used it in a pouring down thunderstorm, hardest rain I've ever ridden in, everything stayed nice and dry. It did not disfigure the bag at all. No water stains, still looks brand new. Now for the what you pay for part. Metal on it is crap. I received it and some of the studs already had Rust color on them! Some of the metal pieces I will replace on my own as they get bad. But there is nothing to do about the studs. I guess it will have a nice rustic look soon. It comes with a bag, I expect storing it in the bag and making sure it is dry and in a dry place it will help slow it down, but I don't expect much. I expect I'll only use it 4 times a year on long trips. So for the price you can't beat it (I definitely wouldn't have paid full price for it). I give it 4 stars!

Purchase this before going on
October 10, 2019

Purchase this before going on a long trip to Virginia Beach. It had plenty of room and it mounted on the bike like it was made just for my bike. I seems to be very durable and looks very nice. We did encounter some heavy rain whick did seem to hurt be bag at all. We did stop when we were able to and put the rain cover on and it worked great. We logged 1240 miles on this trip and the bag still look new. The wife was even able to pack everything she wanted.

EXTREMELY impressed with this luggage
October 10, 2019

EXTREMELY impressed with this luggage set. Comparable sets retail for around $200 more. Plenty of room in both bags. All connectors are secure, and seams look very strong. Velcro fasteners are huge; these bags aren't going anywhere. Another great item from Xelement and LeatherUp!

Ahem...it might be a bit
October 10, 2019

Ahem...it might be a bit too large for my '05 Suzuki Intruder 800, and I love it :-) I love the way the material feels and the abundance of D rings. Not quite sure how to attach it securely with bungees, because the sissy bar velvro attachments are not going to hold it in place securely, since only the lower (narrower) one fits on my back rest. I wished the larger velcro oiece would have been on the bottom. It seems to be very well made. It has these straps on the back side to be used as a backpack to carry it around or use it to secure to the passenger? I am very happy with this purchase!!! The buckles are chrome plated brass which will not rust!

I might have to get a bigger bike now!

This is such a great deal for the price. My only complaint is that the back rest pad is poorly made. this bag is huge! It had many mounting options. the barrel bag will be perfect for my lady's Nightster.
