Bought this helmet for my wife, she was always cold on the morning rides and comfortable later in the day as the temp. would go up. This helmet covers it all and fits the need perfectly.
I did order one size up and that worked out well. Very high quality helmet, people we ride with can't believe what we paid. Comparable helmets are $100 more. Very Nice.
Have been looking for a modular helmet for winter use, the half helmet is great for summer but I wanted a full face for winter without breaking the bank. This helmet fits my need like a glove, the helmet is a perfect fit, great field of view and comes with tinted pull down lens to boot. The price was rediculously low, I have seen helmets 3 times the price that wern't as good. I will be getting another for my wife.
Awsome helmet-love it-went with the hawk 900 modular 2xl first & it was way to small-Thankfully this helmet fits great love the 2 open position for easy on & off.Head stays cool with flow through ventilation & helmet seems light & easy on the neck-highly recomend this one!

bought 2 me & my lady, work very nice,Why Igave a 4 * rating is 1.very hard to open even if you press firmly,2. the sun shield is not polarized gives alot of glare otherwise $$$ & how the work is great. OH yeh love that it goes all the way behind your head, for I love the open face helmets but do to age & elements bought the modular cause I dislike the reg. full face helmets. Remember that if you do not have the face locked in the full face saftey is not there, just a reminder to all be safe & RIDE ON / LET's RIDE. I have very good experinces with this co. with on time deliverys & when exchanges were involed.
Having 2 visors, one for sun and other clear for night, is a great plus. Size is perfect. Only drawback is that it is noisy. Great product for a great price.
Size was perfect. First full face helmet I ever bought. Everything works like it should. It is heavier than I thought it would be. Larger exterior and will not fit inside my large 45 liter side case. Haven't ridden with it due to rain and wind right now. Good visibility, nice large shield area. The sun shield very dark and full sun should not be a problem. I probably will not use it full back all the way as it feels too heavy in the back. Vents open as close as designed , however I can see the top vents letting rain in, we shall see. I gave it a five star for arriving as advertised and properly sized/put together. I'll rate again after I've used it for a year.
Looks perfect with a sporty cruiser. I was scared it would look too sporty with my kawasaki mean streak but it looks just right. Having the option to pull back and make it a 3/4 is nice to get some wind in your face. Many compliments.
I love this helmet. I like the safety of a full face helmet, but I am claustrophobic and sometimes a full face can get me freaking out. This transitions so easily that I have had no problems with this at all! I will be buying more of these for my kids!
The helmet exceeds the expectation I had and the price was way under of what is expected!
I got the helmet in good time and it fit great. The only thng that bugged me was the material around my face seemed like it had some kind of chemical on it which made my face itch. Not just a little bit but a LOT! I"d suggest wiping the inside of the helmet with soap and water. I don't have sensitive skin but whatever was on the helmet felt like having poison oak.
This is the first full face helmet I have ever purchased and I am very pleased with it. The fit is good and I really like the front face lift up section. One thing I would have to say is to keep a watch on the pivoting screws on each side of the helmet. Mine came loose one time and the screw came out. Luckly it came out when I just parked so I did not loose anything. I have not had that problem since but I keep checking the screws. I would definetly recommend this product to a friend. Whcih they all love it too.
I bought this helmet for the low price and the bounty of features. The dual visor is awesome to have if you ride in various light conditions. I have pretty savage hay fever at times, and the flip up modular face has saved the inside of my helmet from quite a few wet sneezes.
Another reviewer mentioned something about a chemical inside the helmet causing them to itch. I have had any itching, but there is a definate chemical smell at times. I thought is was glue that would go away after a while, but I've been riding quite a bit with the helmet, and I still smell it every now and then.
My main complaint, however, is the coating on the inside of the visor, I dont know what the coating was when i got the helmet, but I have to assume it was a polarization film or something. After my first couple of rides, I noticed the lower part of the visor was getting some sort of crustiness. At first I thought it might be adhesive fumes drying on the visor near the vents, so I tried to clear it off. I discovered that the entire visor was coated in something, and it wasn't waterproof. My breath was disolving the clear coating, causing it to look crusty. Some of the coating was more water resistant in spots, so when i was done cleaning with water, it looked terrible. I had to finish it with windex. The visor is clear enough to use, but it no longer has the anti glare property it did when it was new. I plan to talk to leather up to try to resolve the issue, and will amend this review if it gets sorted out.
Also, the double D rings for the chin strap are a bit sharp. They grip the strap just a tad too firmly so i cant release the strap by pulling the tab. I have to stick a finger into the rings to push the strap out. Not a big deal, but still an inconvienience. I'd rather have it hold too firm than have it fall off my head...
Overall, I definately recomend this helmet. Looks great, feels great, and works great. This would be well over $150 by any other in store brand.
Good news: Price, got it for $80 during a labor day sale with free shipping. My wife wanted silver which was not on sale so it was $99. Venting: Passable, could have used more/bigger vent on top. With face shield up it was fine. Build: feels light, front piece near chinguard level pops off very easily, especially if your finger is not perfectly positioned on the release. Features: chinguard goes on the way back which is great, my wife preferred it halfway up, and the detents are solid so once it goes there it stays there, even at 75mph. Sun visor is near useless. Nice lever action, but it doesn't come down far enough so the bottom edge is right in your field of vision. The back of the neck is more open than other helmets, which is actually good for ventilation and for goggles which have a tightening mechanism in the back. Foam at crown is very thin, so you feel the uneven styrofoam, which will hurt after a while. The cheekpads are stiff and right there but not uncomfortable, more of a pain if you have straps on your glasses or goggles because it will knock them out of position when putting the helmet on. Chin strap is fine if the fabric tab was on the outer ring instead of the inner ring so you could pull it down it would make taking off the helmet a lot faster. Face shield is a lot sturdier in the connections which are covered so I don't think it will break like my GSMax 54S. The chinguard closure is plastic, ABS maybe, but I doubt it's sturdiness in a crash, as well as the overall effectiveness in a crash, even though it's DOT rated, still I would like to see how they test and what happens, like the car crash tests you see.
This is a great helmet for the price. I was in a safety class and the modular design let me raise the face shield to allow me to hear better. Then I could lower it when I was riding for improved protection. I don't see myself using the full back position of the face shield due to the weight it adds to the back of the helmet but I don't feel this was an added expense anyway. I checked my helmet size at local retailers before I ordered and this helmet was true to that experience.
received helmet with a waxy, smeary substance on inside of face shield which required removal to wash. I thought shield would remove when I removed side screws, instead parts from both side fell on table. No instructions were included to reinstall chin & shield assembly. I got it back together but the whole thing was a big hassle, what with the dirty shield & parts falling all over. I feel the helmet itself is a good deal, the fit is good and I like the different positions, although the chin strap release is tough to operate especially on the move. I bought the helmet for cooler weather use but now with snow that's out.
I purchased this helmet about 2 years ago. It fits perfect after some wear. I ride most of the time with the visor up and have had no problems. The smoke inner lense fit over my sunglasses when there is really bright sun during my early am ride to work. Its too dark in regular sunlight to wear with darker sunglasses. The lower chin assembly is removable, and not too difficult to put back on (I am not a mechanical guy). Make sure the screws on the side are tight, but not too tight. Mine loosened up on me and I had to pull off the side of the road and fix it. I am very pleased with this helmt, it fits really well on my head. I am comfortable in it. I have worn it on 25 degree days and 104 degree days, the vents are easily opened and closed based on how much air you need circulating. There is very good airflow through the helmet on hot days. I would recomend this helmet to others.
ok helmet for the price, the flip does not disengage easily, you must make sure you don't have some evasive action coming up to open the damned thing, save your money up and buy HJC or other helmet
Good fitting helmet., love the the shaded flip down visor......but tried it on a long ride and the vent clips on the face guard right above the red release button, flew off.....
Wasn't worth the money sending it back just for the front vent clips..my loss..

This is a great helmet for the price. I've had it for three weeks and the is only one minor complaint. The visor scratched when a bat( a flying bat) hit me while riding. The people at the Leatherup were so nice to send me a replacement visor. So far I've found the helmet to be fairly quiet, the vents work pretty well at highway speed. I had a $300 helmet before and this one compares almost 1-1 to that one.
Excellent Quality and Fit. Best Air-Flow of any modular helmet I have ever purchased.
Fits Snug but Comfortable. Clear windscreen easily lifts up for fresh air-flow. Option to
rotate chin - bar and shield to back side of helmet for open-face riding a real plus when the
temperature is hot and dry, flip back closed in case of rain or cooler temps. Retractable sun shield
is easily employed rain or shine/ open or closed chin-bar. A truly versatile, all season, all weather helmet that
is affordable. I received much more helmet and options than the monetary equivalent of 4 separate helmets.
Answer: Leather can be stretched some what if it's wet. But you should seek a professional cobbler to see if they can be stretched before you try it. Quite honestly you won't have much luck with customer service I found. They're very obnoxious, unhelpful and generally not pleasant to deal with. I wish you good luck
Answer: This is why Revzilla.com, denniskirk.com, and motorcyclesuperstore.com are so popular. I called each of these companies before and spoke to an actual person who had the product in their hands while talking with me.
Answer: You unfortunately made a bad choice doing business with this company. Go check their reviews. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I'd be amazed if you get ANY response from them at all! Sorry to tell ya.
