I like the two in one. I have the two helmets, and now I can sell the other two. Fit is good, have one ear piece that is a little off on the sowing. Excellent price, and will be shopping for other acessories in the future. Thanks Leatherup.
Pretty happy with this helmet. I mostly ride in town, where I prefer an open-face, but it's nice to just snap the jawpiece in and feel a little safer on those rare freeway trips.
The fit is properly tight, and the finish has held up well. So far I've not managed to get a single scratch on the visor, which is just great; my old one looked like I carried gravel in it.
The quick-release closure is really nice, feels solid but lets me snake out of the helmet in seconds. The only thing I miss is the ability to stow it on my helmet hook, need D-rings for that!
People are intrigued by the skull-and-pistons logo, ask me where I got it, which is fun. I'm happy to recommend it! I got mine on sale, but even at regular price I think it's a good value for the money.
I liked the duality of this helmet but am not used to wearing a full face helmet, it was a little heavy and need to get used to it. The sun shield is perfect especially if your wear glasses.
This helmet is light for a full face helmet. I question how long the mechanism will last that allows for the chin portion to be removed, but for now it works great. It is the only full face helmet I have that I do not have to remove the chin piece to get it on and off (big head). I wish that the visor had more adjustable positions for it to be open (like another manufacturer), but you certainly can't beat this for the price and features. Highly recommend it!
Excellent quality for the helmet. Great fit. Very pleased with price and quality.
Just received so not sure on the durability, but the fit was perfect for my wife. Great price and value. She'said happy, so I'm happy!
I've had this helmet for a few weeks now and have logged over 500 miles of ride time. My initial impression of the helmet is that it's very light and built well considering the price point. The outer shell is very nice and so far has been very resistant to scratches. The helmet padding seems to be made of a cheaper material and very thinly padded. I would've been happy to pay a little more for a higher quality padding. I love the quick-release chin strap. I also like the versatility of the removable chin guard that turns the full helmet into a 3/4 unit even though I have not used it that way yet. One thing this helmet is sorely missing is a chin curtain that would lessen the wind from going up into your helmet when riding. This helmet works well when I'm riding my touring bike with a full windshield but on my naked cruiser, the wind noise gets pretty loud and I get a prominent whistle through the face shield. It's a good thing I ride with ear plugs. I've added a Sena Bluetooth unit that let's me listen to music and drowns out the wind noise. Do I regret buying this helmet? No, but I would probably eventually buy a quieter, more expensive helment when the funds allow. In the meantime, this helmet works great for what I need.
I don't know about the durability yet, I've had it a week or two so far. The fit is perfect. The features are excellent. It does let a good bit of noise in, but maybe they all do.?? I Really like it so far
Great helmet. I am very particular about my helmets, so was a little nervous buying this one since I had never tried one on. The fit was perfect for me. The multiple wear options are what I was wanting and this helmet did not disappoint. Recommended!
I didn't take it for a test ride partly because of LU's return policy, but also because the helmet was so bulbous that it obstructed my ability to comfortably turn my head while wearing shoulder armor. This is not a "slim profile" helmet. You will look like Dark Helmet Man from Spaceballs. As a street bike rider, I prefer aerodynamic gear that does not create lots of wind resistance. This may be less important to cruisers who have large windscreens and upright riding positions, but let's be honest: we've all encountered the neck pain produced by 90mph wind on prolonged road trips.
Otherwise, the helmet seems to be full of interesting features. The fit is very snug, and it is light weight. The "2 N 1" concept is certainly a cool idea, but having a spring-lock system (which is actually very nice), and adaptability to hot weather does not make this a necessarily practical helmet.
This helmet was not what I'm looking for.
You get what you pay for. I don't know if the people here at leather up paid any attention to my helmet when they boxed it up, but I have a feeling my helmet was a return that was not repackaged very well. The helmet was OUT of the bag it comes with, and half of the trim pieces were loose or hanging free (Sunvisor trim and one of the visor "cams" were both just hanging free. I am honestly surprised they weren't broken. My instruction manual was crumpled as well. The box itself was torn up and crushed on one side. If this is how Leatherup ships things, then I may have to consider future purchases from other sites.
Anyways! This helmet is pretty comfortable overall. The chin strap is very close to my chin, but I have an odd head shape so I can't speak for others on this aspect. One advantage of this will be in using a scarf or wrap around the neck and face to seal it off from the cold should prove easy. The chin strap itself is pretty strong. I see a lot of people question if it will be durable, but having worked with nylons and plastics I can tell they used some pretty heavy duty stuff, and I suspect there is a metal strap enclosed in all of the plastic. It has enough spring to it that it actually spreads the helmet open a little when I install it while wearing the helmet..
With the shield down it is a pretty loud helmet, so invest in some ear plugs. Wind noise is also pretty prevalent, but to be honest I have had worse. It does breathe pretty well though, and I didn't find it too hot on the first ride I had wearing it on a 95 degree day with 70% humidity.
If you are just starting out or are on a tight budget, this is a great helmet. My only real issue I have is that there are no replacement visors for sale anywhere.
went from a cheaper, non-snell, modular helmet to this snell, fixed-chin, decent helmet. i really appreciate this helmet. pros: snell, its solid, great ventilation, pinlock upgrades. cons: i feel like it has a great amount of wind noise, and terrible fogging makes it so that pinlock anti-fog is basically necessary so be sure to get a HJ-09 anti-fog pinlock lens for ~$30.
fit? my head measured at about 22 and 7/8 so i went with a medium. at first the helmet was extremely snug and was disappointed that i picked a medium. i kept the helmet and after a few rides the helmet has adjusted and although on the sung side, it is a good fit and i don't regret it. i feel like a large would also fit and provide the "roomier" feel versus the "snug" feeling.
overall a great helmet, good price. i'm happy with it. my anti-fog is coming in the mail soon and i'm sure that'll clear up the fog.
Received the product on time and as promised. Had to cut the belt length down with a pair of kitchen shears, but it makes sense since its a one size fits all. It's great always having a knife handy and would be perfect for self defense. Highly recommended!
Sent wrong helmet and took a lot to get a refund! Their mistake not mine! FYI these helmets run big! Buyer be ware when shopping with them.
Plain leather gloves with some armor in the knuckles. They look great and allow the most sensitivity in the palms and fingertips while providing some basic protection.
I really liked having this bag for the trip to Sturgis. I kept all of my clothes, valuables, and hygeine products in it. I had 3 pairs of jeans, 5 t-shirts, under shirts in the main bag, and had room to add 4 more shirts I bought. The top bag and liner were great for the socks, underwear, and hygene products . Worth the money, greta for the solo trip. I will be buying a bigger bag for next year with the wife. Great buy. With stood the rain pretty well.
Perfect for what I needed on Sportster 1200 Custom. Fits nice on bike and made nice backrest on my trip. Held plenty of items for my 3 day trip. Wish it had rain cover, but easily covered with flex garbage bag. Worth the money.
I was very pleased with the product (helmet) but needed to return because it did not fit. Since one of the stickers was removed your company sent it back stating a return could not be processed. I spoke to customer service who was not helpful. He only stated there was nothing he could do. I will not be purchasing anything else from this company since returning items has a list of rules like an IKEA instruction sheet and poor customer service.
Thank you once again for such excellent service. You are an A company. We have recommended you to many friends, because of the products and service you offer. The prices are incredible. Thank you again!!!!!!!!
I purchased it very recently and haven't worn it on any rides yet. However, based on my current helmet (a hawk sz Lg), I wanted a slightly looser fit so decided to go up to an XL. I was very nervous about doing this because my measurement of my head was 22 3/4" around the largest part of my head. The XL that came is a very tight fit and I'm wondering if I'll get a head ache wearing it on the road for any length of time. The features are nice (i.e. tinted spare shield, removable jaw, peak, and breath box), however, not sure how the breath box fits in as no instructions for that. I guess it will be trial and error and whatever feels good. Tool-less is nice. The jaw piece comes out and back on easily, but the visor removal and peak attachment and then the reversing process is not easy. I struggled with it for a while, but looked nice with the peak on. Just won't be able to swap it out and back quickly if friends are waiting.
Answer: Leather can be stretched some what if it's wet. But you should seek a professional cobbler to see if they can be stretched before you try it. Quite honestly you won't have much luck with customer service I found. They're very obnoxious, unhelpful and generally not pleasant to deal with. I wish you good luck
Answer: This is why Revzilla.com, denniskirk.com, and motorcyclesuperstore.com are so popular. I called each of these companies before and spoke to an actual person who had the product in their hands while talking with me.
Answer: You unfortunately made a bad choice doing business with this company. Go check their reviews. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I'd be amazed if you get ANY response from them at all! Sorry to tell ya.
