Jorge has done such an amazing job caring for my grass he is the absolute best! Over the course of being a homeowner I have gone through dozens of lawn cutting services and Jorge through Lanwstarters has been better than any of them. What sets his work apart is the EDGING. The EDGING makes all the difference in the lawn! He cuts it so clean and edges every time so that there is a separation between concrete and grass and it makes all the difference in the world! I've used this app for a year or two on and off and it's always been pretty decent (after all how amazing can lawn mowing be?). But they wowed my socks off when I was recommended a service to have my landscaping renovated. It's not a big area and I'd never done something like that before but it was affordable so I figured I'd treat myself. It turned out far better than expected with beautiful flowers and nice dark mulch. Highly recommend!
Stay Away! After cutting grass for 3 months, all of a sudden, no crew "in my area" to come and cut grass! I was never notified of my "cancellation of services" until I repeatedly complained about crew not showing up! Now my grass is over 6 inches high and I will have to borrow a lawnmower to cut it myself since I sold mine when I began my subscription with LawnStarter, 3 months ago!
I used LawnStarter for a couple of months. The service was inconsistent-- rescheduling almost every visit, a different gardener almost every time, and unpredictable results. There was no edging, weeding, or trimming and often large spots not mowed. It was frustrating. I paid $50 plus tip for each visit and I don't have a large yard.
They did reschedule once, but then came out and did a great job. They were supposed to come today and I suddenly got an email last night stating they couldn't get someone to come out and mow and they actually canceled my membership? It's like, what? I'm totally shocked
Thank you LawnStarter! I can take care of my lawn needs through the app. Lawn crew shows up does the job and I no longer have to worry about finding tome to mow myself.
I have had so many bad experiences with other mowing companies. They lopped off sprinkler heads. They mowed over the rare native plant I'd raised from seed. So I was wary of using an online platform. But lawnstarter exceeded expectations. The app is easy to use. The mowing crew showed up on time. They mowed and edged. The price was fair. So I touched a few buttons on my phone, got my lawn done, put my feet back up on the couch. Sweeeeeeet!
Signup was easy and the service was very good. About 2 months in I had an issue but the support agent was able to help me pretty quickly 5/5.

I had recently moved from D. C to Mesa, AZ where I purchased a home. Maybe like many of you, I did a search for highly rated lawn care as my grass (front and back, under 1000 sq ft) needed cut immediately upon moving in. I contacted Lawn Starter as they "appeared" to have a high rating. They sent a guy out the following week to cut the grass. I entered an agreement to have my lawn cut every two weeks on Wednesdays. Last Wednesday came and nobody showed up. I didn't notice until Friday the 10th of June 2020. I called Lawn Starter to inquire as to why I was now two days past getting my grass cut. I did not receive any sort of good explanation, something to do with "crew scheduling mix up" or something to that effect. HOWEVER... I was told that the following Monday (yesterday) that someone would be there to cut my grass, and would be receiving a $15 discount. Okay, a company at least trying to "make things right" so I said fine. I pulled out of my garage this morning to go to work, look over at my lawn and NOBODY SHOWED YESTERDAY! I now have grass and weeds approaching two feet tall now in a neighborhood (non-HOA) where ALL of my neighbors maintain their yards! I called and asked what is going on over there and was told that I've been put on a "Monday/Friday schedule." WHAT?!?! So guy didn't come yesterday (MONDAY) and now I have to wait (AND HOPE) that someone shows in three more days?!?! My lawn will be a jungle by then! Terminated my service with them 20 minutes ago.
AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE YOU WOULD THE PLAGUE! You've been warned.
The crew damaged my outside air conditioning unit. When I contacted the company they basically told me unless there was video evidence then they would not reimburse me for the property damage. Cost me almost 300 dollars out of my pocket and still payed 35 dollars for the cut as well! Worst customer service I've ever heard of! Even the company I hired to fix the damage knew immediately it was damage cause by a weed eater cutting the wires! Do not use this company!
The crew didn't show up twice but I was shocked to see that I was still charged. When I reached out to them with the after I realized that I was still charged, they said that I could not receive a refund since I had not reported the issue within 3 days. Really?
AVOID if you want timely cuts! The sign up was easy and app is good AND that's it! They don't disclose the fact that they contract out the work, and clearly have no recourse for when crews cancel or do not show! They give you a 2 day window for service. Before my first visit, the 1st crew cancelled on the 1st day of the open window. I was assured another crew was assigned... that crew cancelled for the 2nd day AND LawnStarter extended my window by 2 days without asking me. I called 2x and was assured that a crew would be there on the 2nd day of my window. My last call was around 630pm and they stated they were reaching out for an ETA bc the crew had until 830pm. No one showed! And no one called to give an ETA or nay other info. I called customer svc a 3rd time the next morning only to find out I've been reschedule another 5 days out. At this point, I asked that my account be cancelled & my credit card info be removed. This is unacceptable and a horrible first impression!
We were told 2 different prices for our 1st now! When we 1st signed up for this service the guy came and told us it would be 90 dollars! We were charged 120 dollars! We then went and left a review on nextdoor.com to receive a 20 dollar discount which said would be applied to our next lawn service! So they came again today and still charged us the full 65 dollars! So we call the company and they told us that the 20 dollar credit was applied to our 1st service but could not explain why were charged 120 dollars kept coming up with the gear bull crap charges that didn't even make any sense and sure didn't disclose up front! All she could said was that we left an 11 dollar tip! This company is a sham and doesn't know how to treat their customers! I am very disappointed because I absolutely LOVED our crew they were AMAZING! Just sucks the company they work for is a rip off and liars.
A few days after I visited the website, they messaged me saying someone was in the area and could cut my lawn today. That was a lie as they just said that to get me scheduled a couple days later. Now I am writing this review 10 days later and my lawn is still not cut. The people rescheduled 5x and each time he messaged me saying he was coming and never showed up. This company employees irresponsible liers. There are plenty of other services out there. NEVER USE LAWNSTARTER!
This company is HORRIBLE! They do not screen their workers and except for the front line folks, they people in corporate don't care about the customer. They are just a money grab. If you want the truth about the company, that has an F rating on the BBB, look up Lawn Care Austin; same company, same address, same officers, same phone number. They have done up to $8700. 00 of damage to my property and refuse to accept responsibility and refuse to arbitrate. Abbigail, the person I have been corresponding with refuses to have a conversation on the phone or perform any due diligence to resolve the claim. They prefer to use email exchanges as the method to communicate, which is found to be binding. This company is a horrible representation of Buy Local, Support Local Business.
