I have had nothing but trouble with LawnStarter since signing up. Getting people to even show up regularly is a hassle. Their agents will be assigned and cancel and just not show up. This of course will mean your grass doesn't get cut and you get charged with a long grass fee when their own people don't do the job.

You can also request other services with them. I requested a quote for fertilization that I should have gotten the first time my yard was mowed. I never got a quote. The next different person that showed up did give me a quote and I agreed to it then they disappeared from the system. So another new person from them messaged me about needing to send another quote. I never got the quote after waiting two days and the service was simply marked completed. I got charged $99 for an old quote and no work being done. I have spend at least an hour and a half on the phone explaining then to them. They tell me there are photos of the work and I requested they send them. The photos they have are of the laws being mowed, and have nothing to do with fertilization. So I have a charge for work that was never done and a charge for long grass that was their fault.

All these charges on my credit card and in 2 months I have only had my yard mowed twice. LS has no standards when it comes to picking their agents. They let people in and out of their system and will simply charge you without hesitation or reliability of service. You may very well get an excellent person that does great work but it is a complete gamble and the odds are likely not in your favor because LS has no standard. They clearly don't care who signs up for lawn service and no quality assurance process in place to make sure customer are taken care of. LS is a billing system only and does not care about service.

I have to get a new credit card now to stop them from charging me further. They are a horrible company that shouldn't be in business. I really recommend people to stay away!

I am attaching a photo of the "long grass" they charged for as well that was only that long because their own people kept cancelling and not coming out in the revolving door of people you will have to deal with.

This business is absolutely horrible. Was rescheduled 3 times and no service was ever done. Today's reason for rescheduling was either for a personal reason or couldn't get around the screened in pool due to height of grass (gave both reason for rescheduling). Rescheduled 6 months for January 11 20? Do yourself a favor and hire a Real lawn service company. Lawnstarter.com just is a referral service that refers people with a truck and a lawnmower

Very disappointed

I was fairly satisfied at one point, now in mid-summer there are no crews available in my area. You can not reach anyone on the phone. They sometimes blow grass everywhere.

Bate & Switch

I told them that I needed a one-time service which is front and center on their website - Guess what they don't do it. After speaking with Messiah - he said I could not speak with a supervisor UNLESS I was a customer - I would not become a customer NOW because you are a deceptive, deceitful bate and switch organization! Dumb Dumb Dumb says one time mow - would not have cared if they charged me $150 dollars I needed it done once now FORGET IT

A Swing and a Miss

My HOA likes to make a few extra bucks by levying fines when the grass is too high so I thought I would engage a professional service to mow, feed, and weed my lawn. Lawnstarter came to the top of the list saying initially they could mow within 2 days of signing up. That turned into 3 days and that turned into a no show. I texted, emailed, and used their web form and was met with silence or autoresponders. Finally, I called their customer support line. After a 10-minute muzak wait, I spoke with someone. The agent tried to contact the person assigned for my lawn and they got no answer. I have no idea what kind of service they provide because they didn't provide any.

If you have over an acre do not use this company. Contractors will come with with behinds and not riding mowers. They will then cancel your mowing and a bid will go out for a new provider. All the while your grass is growing and if no providers bid on your job, Lawnstarter will tell you to find someone locally. Then you are faced with no service provider, very high grass and the need to find a new mower.

Also supervisors will tell you they tried calling you and got a busy signal or call was dropped w
Meanwhile you have no missed calls. They will not give out their number. When you try to get hold of one through the Lawnstarter main number you will be told they cannot transfer you to a supervisor.

Terrible company

This company is absolutely terrible. You sign up for lawn services and how often you want the services to be completed. Unfortunately, this summer I signed up for basic lawn care with them which consists of lawn mowing and edge trimming every 2 weeks. This is when the headaches started. They constantly mark scheduled services as complete when they haven't been completed. They do this often so I constantly have to go to their app and select the "Crew never showed up" option. (They must have this problem happen a lot to give it a dedicated quick option on their app). So then the services get rescheduled and your charge (yes, they still charge you for services marked completed despite never having actually done them) has to get refunded. After this happens a few times, your billing history and your service history become extremely convoluted and it becomes to track what you've been billed for and what services have actually been completed. I kept a close eye on this company and manually tracked their completed services. Not long afterwards I noticed I was overcharged by just under $200. So I had to get back on their difficult-to-use app and figure out how to get my money back. I finally was able to request a refund which took weeks and weeks to process (all the while services keep getting marked completed incorrectly etc etc). I would not recommend this company at all. Even if I was desperate to have my lawn mowed, I would much rather use the world's worst children's scissors and cut each blade of grass individually instead of using this company.

P.S. The actual service they perform is terrible too. They cut the grass but keep it long enough where you'll need another service in a week or two. They don't do all the edge trimming as promised. Their bush trimming skills left my bushes looking like upside down pyramids and they didn't clean the areas behind the bushes.

Poor service no accountability for there horrible work. Damaged my property and do not want to own up to their mess up save yourself from the disappoint. No edging was done yard has spots all over it from missed grass not being cut ran over my clean out tore the cap off and ran over my light holder and tore it apart but they will not hold up for their mistakes.

Scammers

I signed up & set a day for them to mow, a week later they came and charged me $100 to mow & because my grass was over 6 inches. If they had came when they said they would it wouldn't have been over 6 inches. They say you get the first mow for $19 & if you refer them on Next door app you get $20 off, it's a lie! I was set to have my yard mowed every 2 weeks & believe me they will charge you but they don't come when they say, this is so they can charge you more. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Trying to get a hold of someone human is almost impossible as well.

Hidden fees

I had used the service before and never had a problem this time I was quoted one price and charged a extra fee for supposed high grass. Their crew sat in front of my house for 30 minutes before they even started if the yard was too much for them they should have left. The grass was done the week before so I don't know how it could have grown over 6 inches in a week. If you use their service whatever you are quoted add a extra $40 to $50 because you won't be charged the correct amount. I will never use this service again I should have took the time to find a landscaping service in my area.

Horrible Service

I was skipped for inclement weather (Sunny and slightly humid), and for not needing it cut (Very tall and overgrown). Literally was weeks before my first service in which, when I saw it, the lawn was great. THE VERY NEXT DAY another crew showed up and STARTED MOWING MY YARD SHORTER... Now my yard is uneven.

This site is not letting me upload the pictures because its not the right size, but you can literally see where they started and stopped.

Looking to relax this week from yard work? Then you should order LawnStarter, an online service for lawn care that provides everything from grass cutting to fertilization. My service provider Ronald does a great job, advises when he's on his way, blows grass clippings, and very respectful of my property.

This company is not a good place to go to get your grass cut. They signed me up like they had amble Staff and service would be seamless. Well that did not happen. They literally rescheduled me 5 times and would just not show up. I would not use them at all. I'm in Baltimore City.

They did terrible job on my lawns and bushes and flower bed. They say if not satisfied you won't be charged. They charged me $146 and quoted me $119. Called 3 times and was told they would not charge me. Worst lawn service ever! Reported them to better business bureau. Want my money returned they don't deserve to keep it!

Never show up

I was assigned a crew and they were to start on the 17/18th. Never showed. I was reassigned. My new person came on the 21st and did a decent job. I was scheduled for 28th/29th. It's 6:45 pm on the 29th and I was on hold with customer service for the last 37 min. UNFORTUNATELY, you agree to a minimum of 3 mows when you sign up.
So, I have to wait another 2 days for a new "provider". So, unless you sign up weekly to expect to your lawn to be mowed every other week, pass on this service.

Don't Use

They don't loose 5-minutes to ask for review looks ok on surface then when you inspect maybe not. They already charge your card. Filing reports don't get a warp speed response they take money first. Site is scam because they do charge even if you are not happy think twice before hiring. They weed whacked plant to death. Looks like pencil

NOT DEPENDABLE

Don't hire these guys. I've been trying to use them for over 3 years and they're NEVER dependable. They will go weeks without showing up, can't keep people and often do a terrible/ uneven mow job. They're going to get you fined if you live in an HOA.

I signed up with this $#*!y company and here we are more than 15 days no one showed up, I have been calling and staying hours on hold and rescheduled 4 times and no one showed up. Stay away from these Crooks
