I have been waiting for 3 weeks to get my grass cut. They have rescheduled my service 5 times. Contacting the company does no good as their excuse is that there are not enough crews in this area. Then why promise? PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! You will be disappointed.
Over a 3 week span... Scheduled and then cancelled twice due to "we can't find a crew in your area" - okay why schedule it then. Let me know that asap. Ended up cutting it myself after waiting for 2 weeks, Can't say it's terrible service, it's no service at all.
I have tried for WEEKS and WEEKS. My lawn looks like a joke. Neighbors ask if I mow every other week. No! That's what I am down to. It doesn't bother "them" that there is a sign in my yard with their name on it. The app does not work either
The company LawnStarter really just staffs but they do a poor job managing or vetting the providers in their network. So for that I rate them 1 because they had an individual/crew involved that never showed up for two weeks then when another person showed up and took 3days to respond. They responded with a quote of $300 from $50 because the grass grew too tall from the first visit that LawnStarter failed to manage a crew to come
I called on Friday to have grass cut that morning. No show. I called again and again. Oh 48 hours to reschedule. 5 times no show. Tried to offer me a free onetime cut because they kept canceling. I had to find another service also talked to Tammy some manager. No service after 11 days. Rating. Zero. Do not use this service ever
I never knew when someone was going to show up to service my yard. Most of the time, I didn't even get any notice, that is, IF someone showed up. The final straw, after several prior issues, was going TEN DAYS past my original service date with no one showing up. I had to CONSISTENTLY reach out to Lawnstarter to ask what was going on, to which I received either a poor excuse or no reply at all. God forbid this happens during your first 3 services that you are CONTRACTUALLY OBLIGATED to pay for.
Lawnstarter also does not allow customers to schedule their own appointment times/days. Instead, they give you a 2 day window each service period (more like a 4 day window in my experience) and either about 10 minutes notice or NO NOTICE before the crew shows up randomly within that window. You will just randomly have people enter your yard one day - again, if they show up at all. Not good if you have pets, especially considering THEIR CREWS ALWAYS LEAVE YOUR GATE OPEN WHEN LEAVING. Their app's UI is also terrible. Navigating to message your crew is way harder than it should be. Overall, this service was a terrible experience and I am glad to part with it.
Needed a lawn service and they came out the next day. Did a fantastic job. I appreciate the fact that they responded so quickly to solve our problem.
Just use task rabbit and keep it moving because this service is trash. First, they give you a two day window and no specific time. This should not be the case for first time appointments given I would assume they needed to speak with the customer to make sure the work could even be done.(which in our case was necessary) So giving someone a 2 day window means they have to schedule their life around for two days for a lawn mow. That's BS. So my SO set up the service and he explained EXACTLY what needed to be done. He said the yard was in bad shape and that it was likely going to be higher than the initial quote. He explained EVERYTHING. They still showed up to the appointment without the right equipment. This was a Monday. So they rescheduled us for FRIDAY, several days later given it was their issue to begin with, which also means our yard situation continues to get worse. Then Friday comes and they cancel likely because it rained early this morning, but it has not been raining for hours. They cancelled and never got back to us with a rescheduled time. So we just cancelled all pending appointments and moved on to someone else. I wouldn't recommend them at all.
The crew rescheduled 3 times and never showed up for second cut! Unprofessional and non responsive company! Stay away

I originally booked for 4/20 and they cancelled three times and ignored my messages, and then on 5/4 I got a notification informing me that the crew had finished my yard. Um… No they didn't. Look at my (now very tall) grass. I have a Ring doorbell. Nobody was here. What a joke.
These guys are terrible. My lawn is choppy and all different lengths when they are done, but the worst part is they chopped off half of my young lilac bush with their weed whacker and then argued with my husband that they didn't. The guy who did it didn't even show up to look at it... he sent two other guys to try to intimidate my husband. What a joke!
They sent someone to mow my lawn after I canceled the service. The lawn had been mowed 2 days before so I tried to stop the worker. He would not stop because his equipment was already in my yard. Contacted the company but nobody responded. I received notification that someone was coming to mow the lawn after the job was already done. They refused to provide a refund because they said the work was completed. I tried to stop the work from getting started and I never asked for it in the first place. I also was not notified until after the work was completed.
This is a scam. Do not use! The keep charging me for cuts that they don't do. I mow my own yard. You cannot cancel your credit card or cancel your membership. I had to find this number to call them- *******766 and complain. I am now canceling my credit card so these thieves stop steeling from me.

They broke our window and tore our lawn hammock in all of 10 minutes.

Called them several times no service showed up. They will waste your time and day. In the mean time they took your bank account information and took your money. They have customer service that all they can advise you is to go to the app and send the crew member a message. Goodluck with that!
They bill because they feel like it. They show up when told not to. They have you wait around all day and then cancel at 7pm. When they say they will reimburse something they lie and it never gets done. I am canceling my service and if they charge me again I'm taking legal action.
Crews keep canceling! 3 this week! Was supposed to get lawn mowed on Tuesday and it is now Friday and my crew has changed 3 times! Called LawnStarter and was told they are waiting for a crew to get my business and should be by Monday. I told them as I wait my grass is getting longer! Was reassured they would not charge a long grass fee since it's not my fault. If nothing gets done by Monday then they can cancel my service all together!
Save yourself the frustration and empty promises you receive. They have Great customer service but extremely crappy lawn service. They were gung ho on signing me up and 3 weeks later NO SERVICE. The worst. I couldn't imagine how they treat the people that actually DO the job. You've been warned!
Hire at your own risk as I had a guy come to my home on 3/2 he charged me $250 for leaf removal, weeds from walkway and garden and some tree branches removed. He didn't know what weeds look like has he took a section of my grass and ripped it all out. He removed some of the branches and that was it so all that money and I have multiple sclerosis with no money to pay someone else to do it. He said that they only do cash app or cash and I contacted the company and the man who answered said I'm sorry there's nothing that we can do about this as he wouldn't let me talk to the supervisor. There are companies that honor their work and this one wouldn't even send someone out to see what he did. I went through their website after I received so many emails from many companies so please if you want to pay someone for work that you will end up doing yourself then this is the perfect one or if you also want to pay to fix the damage yes this is the company for you. I will be writing a review all over Facebook marketplace as I'm signed up for almost 27 different apps through them for buying and selling when I was looking for a car but at least people who are considering getting work done to their own yards they will see before and after pictures of mine and go somewhere else. I even messaged begging for $150 of my money back to hire someone that knows what their doing with no response. They DON'T HONOR their work and I don't want anyone else to go through this. I also tried to add a photo to this review but it wouldn't let me as I tried getting off my phone and even hitting take a photo. Trust me even the guy who answered the phone said sorry you can't talk to the supervisor and theirs nothing that we can do and then he said have a good day before hanging up on me. Like I said I will be putting reviews everywhere so that others don't go through another hard lesson that I had to learn!
