Kogan's reputation is significantly marred by recurring complaints regarding customer service and product reliability. Many customers report issues with faulty products, lack of effective communication, and difficulties in obtaining refunds or exchanges. The automated nature of their customer support is frequently criticized, leading to frustration among buyers seeking assistance. Conversely, some customers do express satisfaction with specific products, particularly electronics that function well over time. Overall, while there are positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment highlights a troubling pattern of inadequate support and misleading practices, prompting recommendations for potential buyers to exercise caution.

I made a purchase and it was delivered on-time and it was as advertised. From that standpoint, I am a happy customer.
However I had a quick follow-on question about the order and it was absolutely impossible to find anyone to talk to. If anything ever did go very wrong with my order, I'd be left out in the cold. Reading these reviews, this seems to have happened to many people already. I would avoid them for major purchases.
Do not have an account with them and they send me emails. No unsubscribe option without entering a password. I don't have an account so why would I have a password? No way to contact them either.
Worst tv or electrical item I have ever bought. If you are thinking of buying a tv you would be better buying one from an op shop that comes in black and white than these terrible items. So many issues including remote, wifi, turning on compatibility wifi picture etc
I'm so disappointed and disqusted with Kogan for the recent price gauging and taking advantage on Covid19 pandemic towards Australian as they don't show any support, all the care is making a profit.
Won't be buying from Kogan anymore
Don't buy from Kogan, not if you think you may need to contact customer support. I bought the above laptop plus SD card for my son. The laptop arrived and is working as expected. However, the SD card did not arrive. Trying to contact customer support is, literally, impossible. I found a phone number that is always busy. There is no online chat. You can contact customer service, but you need to have Kogan find your order first. Sounds simple, but the message that consistently came up is that no order could be located. I know a SD card is not an expensive item. However, not being able to contact the company is very poor. I'm lucky the laptop arrived, I think.
VERY PLEASED, in fact, over the moon! Bought the kogan Genie robotvac, paid 179, rrp 1199. I have large floorboards and cats, handles my home. It was delivered in 2 business days. VERY HAPPY Highly recommend and cant stop raving about it
Recently I ordered a bed to delivery to my home address. But now they are asking me to pick-up from someway else.
Lucky i checked my account and i found that Kogan has taken out $12.00 out of my account for a 'membership' i NEVER signed up for which is a-bit unfair i will never buy from them again very angry!
Ordered a mobile SIM and was waiting for it for 5 days. So decided to login into account and check delivery information. Followed the instruction to look under Order History and check the delivery details. Once clicked, it has an option to go an absolutely useless Help Centre that has no generic information. The information regarding delivery times said that it should appear in the email that was sent when I ordered. Checked that and only had a link to the same useless Help Centre. The whole entire help system is a circular path that gets you no where and offers information that can't help. You can't even send an email, have a live chat or have a number to call. Feel so hopeless and frustrated just to look for simple help.
Worst worst worst service. Look at the other comments - they are completely correct. Embarrassed that this is an Australian business. How does the ACCC not shut down this operation to protect innocent Australian purchasing from them?
They were once upon a time great to deal with but now i cannot remember such a bad experience with a company than i recently experienced with Kogan. Customer Service is basically non existent and getting answers to your questions is a monumental effort.
Always remember - Never buy from Kogan. They will screw you everytime.
So I was looking around to buy a Pixel 3a XL phone. They were selling them on Amazon but I wanted to be sure that I got the Australian Version with the Australian power plug. So I wanted to buy it from someone in Australia. One of the only places I could find it was Kogan. After past experience - I normally avoid buying things from Kogan because the customer service is BAD. But limited choices - so against my better judgement I brought it from Kogan.
They sent me the wrong phone - a 3a instead of a 3a XL. I could have bought a 3a from lots of places but I wanted the 3a XL. And the phone came with an American Plug. At this time I was kicking myself. Why did I buy something from Kogan - This stuff always happens when you buy from Kogan.
The only way to get customer service is to send them an email and they take a long time to reply each time. I have been emailing them for a week. After a frustrating chain of emails they are telling me that they will not swap my phone for the one I wanted. And won't even talk about the American Plug thing.
Always remember - Never buy from Kogan.
Signed me up for Kogan First Membership - 30 Days without asking or notifying me
Came through on bank statment. Annyoying. Also it is not easy to contact customer service they are a pain.
Stuff kogan
First they sent me the wrong product, and oh boy odes it take a long long time to get that rectified. It's been almost 3 months and I am still having to go back and forth with them.
1) First they need all this proof that I have actually got the wrong product (Take a picture of the packaging, then a picture of the product itself, Now the barcode...) All this ask over multiple emails spanning 2 weeks.
2) Then getting to a simple resolution of "giving me the right product" has still not been solved. It's been 3 months now and the customer service person is absymal. He keeps sending me short email responses which doesn't really address the question, and then takes 2 days to respond to any of my replies.
Kogan, if you chose to go the route of having NO CUSTOMER CALL CENTRE, then you better bloody well make sure your email team and processes are able to do the job. What's the point of trying to say you sell cheap products if you can't even deliver it to me correctly? I regret using Kogan and will go with Amazon Australia next time.
Although the prices are competitive, their delivery options are very frustrating. When I tried to order a case for my phone, they wouldn't let me use my parcel locker as a delivery address, nor a GPO locker.
My choices would have been my home address (might miss the delivery) or work. Upon reading their help pages, they claim that they use private couriers to deliver their merchandise. This is especially risky to do if delivering to a home address as either the parcel will be left in a common area or delivered to some suburban warehouse.
My advice is to just use amazon. They will always allow parcel locker addresses.
I will never order from kogan again the delivery process is to hard needs to sign for it witch is silly takes to long and if your not home you have to drive out of your way to pick it up not worth it just go to local shops
Stayed home the whole day when they said delivery was out of warehouse (expected in today) and driver couldn't find the address, didn't have the courtesy to try and contact me at all. Had to wait another 4 days for it to be delivered. On both times customer support was also unapologetic about the matter (borderline arrogant even) about this issue. Don't even bother with this company will never touch them again.
After purchasing a Kogan TV for my Mother in a nursing home last year. The first TV developed a red line down the centre of the screen. This happened about six weeks after the TV was delivered. After reporting the issue to Kogan, they agreed to collect the TV in the original box. Well, who keeps an original box? Not me!
You will note that Kogan encourages people to keep the original box in case of a warranty issue. This is entirely not practical. After many emails to Kogan, at the same time trying to source a box from Harvey Norman, Good Guys and JB and the like... with zero success. In the meantime, this cost me time, petrol and energy. Kogan eventually sends me a box, and the TV is returned to Kogan.
Wait, there's more!
We eventually received word from Kogan's help desk that our TV is faulty and they will send us a new one. This process takes three weeks, give or take. Ten working days for their technicians to assess the faulty TV.
The new TV arrives, and finally, we set it up. Low and behold our new replacement TV does not connect to Wifi. We tried everything and, to this very day, it does not work. To resolve the situation, we purchased a smart box (Telstra TV box). This got us over the issue. But at the cost of time and $120.00 extra for the smart box. Another outlay, and cost of doing business with Kogan.
This week I ordered a Kogan vacuum cleaner much to my wife's horror. She could not believe that I would deal with Kogan again. Well again after having the unit one day, its no longer charging.
No more Kogan electrical goods for me! All I can say is heed this review would-be purchasers of Kogan products.
I needed to make an inquiry about kogan products and I was sent a form to fill out
And to add my credit card details for a change of $5 to answer my simple question
The world has gone mad with GREED
I wish I had taken the negative reviews for Kogan more seriously when I researched the company prior to purchase.
I purchased a Kogan 584L Side by Side Stainless Steel Fridge for $777.98 including delivery costs and received it on 12 February 2020. I soon discovered that the fridge has the following problem: Makes an extremely loud operating sound, it vibrates the floor and the side panel heats up where it is hot to touch and posses a potential fire risk. After 3 weeks Kogan are still yet to resolve this issue or offer a resolution. I note that the fridge is brand new and has major faults i. E. operates extremely loud and the right side panel heats up. The fridge is not usable or fit for it common purpose, the loud operating noise is just unacceptable and the fridge being hot is unsafe.
Answer: Not only rubbish customer service, they won't give you a refund if your product doesn't arrive. - Check these out - https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/kogan-in-court-for-alleged-false-or-misleading-discount-advertisements https://www.choice.com.au/shopping/consumer-rights-and-advice/your-rights/articles/kogan-returns-and-refunds-issues I learnt the hard way so save your safe the time and stress and go elsewhere.
Answer: Stay away from Kogan - I think you have by default signed up for some crap Kogan First Club - if you didn't unsubscibe within 14 days, they then hit you with a membership fee
Answer: No they just say they will get back to you eventually but they never do
