Technician called and was knowledgeable and friendly. However, as he started to explain how to look at the oven to determine if there was an electrical issue causing the smell coming from the oven when on, the call started to be staticky and cut off. The phone flipped over then to a recording asking for a review of JustAnswer, and we hadn't even got an answer to our question!
After about ten minutes of trying to tell the chatbot i would like to describe our issue to a person the chatbot thought we should talk to a person. I agreed and was directed to a screen to enter our cc number for a $1.00 charge for help. Stupid me, I did this and it popped up that we were being charged $56.00. I did not want a recurring $55.00 charge every month, so no. Then as this was happening our cc company was calling as they saw this a fraud. The tech support site showed they would refund $55.00 of the $56.00 but we'll see. I feel I got off cheap if I get the $55.00 back and don't have to block our card and get a new one. What a rip.

My rambunctious young 7 lb cat may have consumed flea/tick medicine for a 44 lb dog. General Google searches showed it could be fatal. The vet here said not to worry. He put my mind at ease. 10 hours later, the cat is fine.

Answer: I got scammed last year for just over $50k on what I thought was a legit investment site. Everything looked real — I even withdrew a small amount at first — then one day my account was “under review” and the site vanished. I reported it to the FTC and pretty much gave up hope. Months later, someone who saw my complaint told me to email cyberfundsrecovery12@ gmail. Com. I was super skeptical (once bitten, twice shy), but they actually knew exactly how these scams work. It took about 3 months of paperwork, verifications, and bank back-and-forth, but I got a big chunk of my money back. Not all of it, but way more than I thought I’d ever see again. If you’ve been scammed, don’t give up — there are people who can help, but be careful who you trust.
