Safety issue
March 1, 2021

Bought 3 all for Border Collies. The buckle although looking secure it is not. I made sure the buckle was secure with no hair caught. I heard the click and I gave it a tug without apparent problems. While walking all 3 came apart and fortunate for me and my dogs I was paying attention. I now use their collars again. Purchased these harnesses back when it was Pug Life. I attend obedience and for years agility. So my dogs are trained.

I purchased a Joyride harness for my friends' (who live across the country) dog. To determine the size he would need, I used the size chart provided on Joyride's website. Despite ordering what should have been the correct size, the harness he received (size M) was strangely enormous. My friends decided they couldn't make it work and wanted to exchange it for a smaller size. I contacted Joyride by email to notify them of the exchange and they very speedily sent me a prepaid postage label by email to send to them. So I requested an exchange for the same harness one size down (size S), my friends returned the size M harness and then we waited and waited. At the three week mark, I wrote to Joyride to inquire about the exchange. They apologized and said they didn't know why it was taking so long. Another week later, my friends received their new harness, which, this time, is so small they can't even get it over the dog's head. I write to Joyride again explaining the situation and that I would like to this time request a refund since their sizing didn't seem to work for them. It was then that they told me they'd be unable to send me a prepaid postage label and that my friends (the people who were supposed to be getting a gift out of all of this) would have to pay out of pocket to return the item. I wrote again asking them to please consider a prepaid label that they could deduct from my refund amount, just to not have to put my friends in the awkward position of paying to return their own gift, but they rejected the request, saying it was "against policy for second returns." This is mostly a story about refunds being difficult but there's another moral in here about also paying attention to their strange sizing conventions, an issue that seems innocuous enough until you find yourself in the position to need to process a return. I will be all too happy to patronize business that are interested in helping their customers find the proper item, rather than those who try to stiff them with those that don't work after a single return.

If your dog is a hard puller, this harness will NOT work. My dog is medium size and has always been a hard puller and we have tried a few options to help with this. I was hoping the joyride harness would work as they promote it working with medium and large dogs but it did not work at all. It is no different than a regular harness. It seems to work for someone I know who has a small dog that slightly pulls so perhaps they should change their wording and advertise it working for dogs that SLIGHTLY pull. Also, in order to return, you have to remove all the dog hair, preferrably keep tags on, and they charge you to return it.

Still waiting!
February 20, 2021

I placed an order at the end of January 2021, and am still waiting for it. They sent an email 8 days after I placed my order stating it was shipped, and 20 days after that email I still haven't received my package. After calling the post office I was told they are waiting for the package to be dropped off, so they can deliver it. I have sent an email to *******@joyrideharness but have not received a response as of yet.

Do. Not. Buy. This. Harness.
February 5, 2021

I've tried literally dozens of harnesses. This is the absolute worst harness I've ever seen, from a company with the worst service.

Most importantly? Joyride likes to say you can put your dog in this harness in "2 seconds flat".
My dog got out of the harness in less than 1 second.

Last night my dog got excited by something - I'm guessing a fox - and started flipping out. I was holding tight to his leash and before I knew it, with a swift kick of his legs & a wiggle of his head, he was out! He took off running. If it hadn't been for a fence between him and the animal, he would have been long gone and I never would have caught up to him. It was absolutely terrifying.

The worst part? I was warned this could happen. When I first ordered the harness, it took over a month for it to be to delivered. Joyride lied each step of the way about why it was taking so long. The tracking very clearly stated it sat in a warehouse for over a month, but they told me at least three different stories. I was understandably frustrated and vented my frustration on Twitter.

That's when someone told me, hey, don't use that harness! His dog had escaped from it quickly and with great ease. I tried to tell myself that I should still give it an honest try, but that I'll just be extra diligent about making sure the straps are always tight.

So I was. Each and every time I put my dog in that harness, I retightened the straps. After only a month of using it, it seemed like after even just a five minute walk, the straps would be entirely loosened by the time I took it off him.

Sure enough, I think that's the root of the problem. The clasp and tightening rings are just too loose. Exert even the tiniest bit of resistance and the strap slips straight through, loosening to the point where my dog was able to quickly wriggle right out of it. That loose strap combined with the poor design of the front - with nothing securing against the chest - makes the Joyride Harness easily the worst designed dog harness I have ever seen.

Please, please, please, I am begging you!

Do. Not. Buy. A. Joyride. Harness!

Don't make the same mistake I did. No amount of diligence will ever overcome its poor design. Keep your dog safe and opt for a better harness. Trust me, it'll be worth it!

The underbelly strap loosens
January 31, 2021

I ordered this harness and received it 6 days ago. The underbelly strap loosened during walks just slightly which was a concern, but when I took my dog on a run, the strap completely loosened to the point of it being useless, and if my dog had wanted to, she could have easily gotten herself out of the loose harness. This product is defective and not worth the cost.

*** BUYER BEWARE ***
January 27, 2021

** DO NOT ORDER! BUYER BEWARE! **
So I got a harness and it did not fit. I immediately ordered another one to get it on the way assuming an EXCHANGE would be no problem. I was informed that because the tags were unattached they could not accept it! I have the tags there just not attached. My other order says it wasn't processed or shipped so I asked a sales rep ( Claire T.) to cancel the order and please refund me. She said that she couldn't do it and she would have someone else call/ Total BS and horrible customer service. Now that's 2 Harnesses they wouldn't refund! And there website says "100% No Risk Guarantee" and "Free Exchanges". That's a lie! This is FALSE advertising. And you wonder why people use Amazon. I was just trying to support an Independent.

Horrible customer service and ok product so not worth dealing with! Ordered a harness on Black Friday. Received an email mid December that shipping was delayed due to the pandemic. Ok, not a problem... completely understand and truly appreciated them reaching out. Received two more emails like that about a week apart each, and I always replied with understanding (yet never received a tracking number with any of those emails... just an email to blame shipping so they didn't take any responsibility). In early January I followed up since I still hadn't received my order. Was finally given tracking and told to contact them in 5 days if it hadn't arrived. Side note, per tracking, the item shipped AFTER they sent me those other emails blaming the pandemic and shipping delays. I questioned that, but they didn't acknowledge it or even respond. 10 days later, I followed up again to ask where it was, referencing the previous email to follow up after 5 days (though I had given 10 days). I then received the exact same email with tracking, asking me to contact them in 5 days if I hadn't received it. Wrote back and told them it's already been 10 days since you sent the exact same email! So per the first message, I'm letting you know again it's been 10 days and I haven't received it and tracking wasn't moving (actually at this point tracking still stated "USPS awaiting shipment."). And all previous messages were included, which I referenced in each response, but they obviously didn't read them or care to. Have not received another response. And in all these messages, I never received a sincere apology (which really goes a long way); no offer to reship since it had been 2 months; no offer of a refund just for shipping. Product is ok at best... harness around the belly does not stay where you adjusted it. It loosens up so my dog can get out. She actually got out while on a hike. Thankfully she ran to me and not lost in the mountains. Even with that, I'd consider ordering again if they offered better customer service. This was actually my second harness (she escaped using our original harness. After that escape, we were hooking her leash to the harness and collar on hikes). I understand it's a small business; however, I have a small business also and will always offer an apology along with some type of resolution even when it is lost in shipping... especially after two months!

Loved this harness until after 14 months use the plastic adjustment piece broke and since it is just over a year, they won't replace. Poor quality plastic components for a harness intended to deal with pullers. Don't recommend unless you want to replace in a year.

We Love our Harness
January 17, 2021

We are extremely happy with our new harness. Super easy to put on and for the first time in years, our 90 pound German Shepherd is not pulling me down the block. As soon I put his new harness on and leash, I had more control. Incredible! All I needed to do was lightly pull the leash when he began to pull or go his way. Within a a few seconds, he knew exactly what to do. Thank you Joyride Harness. I wish I had your harness years ago. I have recommended the harness to our fur boy's sisters' owners. I'm perplexed by any low rating reviews. I love that the harness is not tight around his chest or back. A sure win-win for Gunther and I

I would never ever order from this company again. I ordered a harness and it never arrived but the tracking said it was delivered. I tried to contact the company and did a live chat someone was supposed to reach me and they didn't. I contacted them again and I was told it was in my mailbox like I'm stupid and don't know where I get my mail. I included pictures of my mailbox a 3x3 inch box that cannot take packages and the box is outdoors at an apartment complex so if it was left outside then it was taken.

Still they insist it was delivered and I should look again. I have been looking since Jan 3,2021. They have no way to actually call them or get a response and why should they? They have my money and I have no product. They don't allow reviews on their website which is fishy, so I don't think all those reviews are any genuine.
I also did some research the company was known as puglife and they changed their name to joyride. According to the BBB puglife had so many complaints about people not getting their product that it looks like they changed their name to get around it. I can't believe they would scam people in the middle of a pandemic when money is already tight. Off to Amazon where the same type of harness is being sold for cheaper.

Low quality
January 11, 2021

We have a pug life harness that we love so we bought a new one, and joyride has taken over pug life. The quality is VERY sub par comparatively. Thin fabric, less cushioning, shoddy seams, garbage overall. Do not recommend. Too bad, since the design is good.

This Company and Product Are BAD NEWS
January 5, 2021

After seeing all the positive (but filtered) reviews on their website, I bought a harness. After a few walks, I found that the chest strap loosens up so substantially the dog can slip out. The fabric used for the belt is too slippery and slides right through the buckle making the harness unreliable and even dangerous. I then found all sorts of negative reviews about the same problem on review sites—along with complaints the company dodges addressing those concerns. That has been exactly my experience. After several efforts, I got a company rep to offer a refund but here it is two weeks later and they won't respond to me and have not issued the refund. Wow. Terrible company and totally unethical behavior.

Terrible customer service
December 27, 2020

Ordered harness on Dec 12. Credit card debited the same day. On Dec 16 informed delivery delayed 7 to 10 days. Needed harness quicker, Dec 16 sent email to cancel order, no reply. Dec 19 sent another email to confirm cancellation. Dec 19 informed company could not cancel order once placed. Dec 21 informed item on its way. Dec 21 another email advising delivery delayed 10 to 15 additional days. Dec 27 received email stating company "could not intercept a recently placed order to cancel or modify it before shipment." To return the harness will cost me postage for the return plus $7.95 "restocking fee".
Joyride Harness is stealing from its customers. Charging restocking fees for items the can't deliver in a reasonable amount of time.
Joyride Harness should be ashamed of the way they treat potential customers. Buyer be ware, don't waste either your time or money dealing with these crooks

: wow... near tragedy
December 21, 2020

My Wire Fox Terrier was hooked into a dog restraint seatbelt attached to his Joyride Harness. I was maneuvering heavy Christmas traffic. You can imagine my horror to see the harness still attached to his seat belt and no dog in the car. He had backed out of the harness and jumped out the window. I almost wrecked trying to turn around to find him. No sign of him anywhere... I was frantic and hysterical. Since I didn't see him injured in the road. I thought someone picked him up. I finally caught a glimpse of him running scared and confused thru traffic. Cars (stopping ( thankfully) so as not to hit him. I ran two red lights getting to him and finally got him back. The harness fit him perfectly but now I no longer trust it and would recommend you to take a look at the design. This story has a happy ending but I will not buy another Joyride harness and cannot recommend

I am sorry you experienced this. So glad he is safe. The harness if fitted correctly and snug on the pup should be hard for them to back out of. I am very sorry. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

I warn people about this company I spent $102 on three items it's been over a month and I have not received these items and they refuse to answer my emails. There is no telephone number to contact this company so you're basically out of luck. I've been sending emails to him almost every other day and yet they don't return anything in response.

I placed the order mid october. They told me it shipped. They warned me it might take longer due to covid... 4 weeks later, at MY urging, they did the research and told me it was lost in transit. THEN, the next email was a tracking number - which I had told them for over a week in all caps to cancel the order - no one is connecting the dots. So then I receive the order I didn't want AND they charge me for the shipping return. You know, to cover THEIR costs. They tied up $100 of my money for about 6 weeks... and I had to pay for the privilege of sending it back

I am beginning to wonder if Joyride Harness is indeed a scam. I didn't want to believe it with their sweet "were a small family company" slogan but it's been 28 days and the tracking shows it has not even made it
To UPSP yet. No one answers the phone, returns emails or picks up the chat. I feel taken advantage of and disappointed.

Buyer BEWARE! Its been 21 days since I ordered product from this company and have not received it!
Did an online "chat" and expect to receive a response within 24-48 hours, as shipment is supposedly is located only 1 hr away, been there for 3 days, per their tracking. It appears that the USPS is supposed to pick it up from their 3rd party carrier, but hasn't yet. USPS doesn't have any further information. Are you kidding me?
