I was talked into getting a replacement violin/upgrade by doing the Johnson rental through mail by our violin teacher who speaks highly of Johnson String/Carriage house I received the violin quite quickly after we laced the order. The instrument wasn't the sound I was looking for so I called and was given my options and decided going down from Maine to Boston would be in my best interest.We drove down on Dec. 1st2018 A young lady by the name of Adrianne waited on us and was an awesome help! She took great care and time with me to make sure that I walked out with a violin that fitted my sound needs. Would highly recommend Johnson strings/carriage house for your instrument needs.
With discounts, Johnson String beat Amazon's prices, and my shipment arrived very promptly and well packaged. Since they are specialists in string instruments, they have a wide range of products that I presume are well liked by musicians. I look forward to buying from them again!

After reading an article about Pamela Frank's injury recovery and her switch to the SAS chinrest, I decided to give it a try to see if it might help with my chronic neck and shoulder problems. It's too early to tell if the SAS will alleviate any of my pain issues, but I will say I have found the SAS chinrest to be extremely comfortable. An added bonus is my violin sound production has improved - it is more open and powerful. Excellent purchasing experience from Johnson Strings.

I chose JSI Special violin strings set which is G D and A Dominant strings plus E Pirastro gold string. Haven't tried the new string yet, but the rosin is excellent! At moment I have Pirastro Tonica on my violin and Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Gold Rosin was just the perfect match. My violin sounds more balanced and consistent, highlighting the characteristics of the Pirastro Tonica strings (even that they a bit old). Thank you so much for the fast shipping, the good price and excellent customer service.
I was trying to tune my cello but ended up breaking the A string (Im a complete beginner) and I requested for a new one and they were so quick with the delivery

So I needed to exchange my daughters cello that accidentally got broke during class and the process was easy as could be! Johnson had the exchange form online and sent the cello to us in 2 days. Now wh have the old one in the box that they supplied and its to ship out.
