I realize there is a pandemic going on, but I am extremely disappointed with Joann's. I placed an order on April, 2nd. Finally received a FedEx tracking number stating that my product would be delivered on April 17th. No package was received. Checked with FedEx, a shipping label was created, but nothing was given to them to deliver. My credit card was charged (not pending, charged) and via Joann's website, the order was closed. I have sent multiple messages via their website and e-mail. ZERO response! From what I have read, their customer service has been horrible to a lot of people. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau!

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AVAILABLE DURING PANDEMIC!
April 23, 2020

Never got my order! Now I can't get in contact with anyone. Emailed cutomer service over a week ago with no response... tried to call and got message that I have to send an email! My order was placed 24days ago online, and I recieved a confirmation email with an order number that doesn't track. I understand things are different during this pandemic so I expected slow delivery, but expected to receive my order! If they can't handle the orders they should be closed like everyone else! My first and last time using Joann fabric... worst customer service ever (or should I say non-existent customer service!)

They send out a flyer with sewing machines on sale that are not even available anywhere. They have machines in store that are not listed online but won't sell them because they won't list them. I need a machine but won't go back to this place lousy customer service

105 times it took me to get through.
April 21, 2020

It took me over 105 times to get through to the greece location. Not only did i sit in my car for over an hour waiting to talk to someone but when I did I got disconnected and no one called me back to say pull up. I had to call another 37 times just to get someone back on the line. I understand things are hard at this time but this is the only store that i have a problem with curbside pick. The other location are great and I will continue to use them. But Greece Store is absolutely horrible. I was not the only car waiting there for over an hour. And the other drivers where just as disappointed. Absolutely crazy.

Curbside Service
April 19, 2020

Called the Corpus Christi store after I ordered online on Sat. And was told it would be ready on Sunday around 12. But to call and I did. They told us to wait by the front door and they would bring it out. I gave her my name and waited for sometime. There was a polite young blonde bringing packages out and she said she would check. Then out comes a very rude worker who said she didn't have out order and we were supposed to wait for a confirmation. All around were customers who said they didn't have them and they got their orders. She screamed at me and said I did not call so I offered her my phone to see the log but she said I didn't know how busy they were and I was a liar. Standing with receipt in hand, she made no attempt to apologize but ranted about her awful job. I am there (long drive)to listen to this! I have been a customer since the 70's. Do you not teach your employees to treat the customer with the same courtesy you expect to be treated with? I am from a very large family of ladies who sew and craft who will definitely be going elsewhere.

Refused their store credit
April 18, 2020

I returned a roll of yarn and requested a credit to my card, just prior to the store closing per State direction. The manager stated that was not possible but he issued a store credit instead. In attempting to place an online order, the store credit was not allowed. That was followed by a call to the store and spoke to one of the employees. They stated store credit could not be used over the phone, nor could they accept the store credit at the time of pick up. Although these are unusual times, there must be a means for the store to honor their own credit. Their average rating is 1.52 but this experience causes my rating to be 1.0 or less. The merchandise is generally quite good but unless they correct poor customer service, I will award my business to other merchants.

Terrible service
April 18, 2020

How can it take over a week to fill an online order when I can place one with Michaels and it's filled within a day! 220.00 order I will be canceling! If you can't fill the orders then stop taking them! Maybe hire more people!

Get a grip
April 17, 2020

I have ordered online from Joanns seventeen times. Until recently my orders were always ready in 1-2 days. They take longer now due to high demand. Four of my orders were cancelled because the stuff sold out. Joanns updates every customer on online order staus, if you provide contact info. I'm always sent emails when the order is received, in process, ready, or cancelled - 100% of the time and 100s of dollars. If you go to the store w/o being notified it isn't ready. Showing up in the parking lot expecting to jump the queue is rude to everyone. Until we're back to normal, the best thing is to go inside the store to shop if you are in a hurry. The Joann Fabrics in Augusta, GA has been swamped by online/pickup in store orders. They are doing their very best to fill them. Your order is filled after the orders in front of it. The stuff you're ordering is from stock for sale in the store, so someone going to the store to shop may buy all of it before your order is worked. It's the risk you take.

I am only giving them one star because 0 stars is not an option. I ordered fabric online for masks to pick up in store, no communications only an email that you need to wait. On 4/14 an received email to p/u my order, instructions said to call the number provided but no one picks up the phone. Found an employee who said the store was closing early and to come back tomorrow. Came back the next day and again no one answered phone. Stood outside for 15 mins. Gave my order number to an employee who did nothing. Found another employee, told to wait but you don't know how long. Two people behind me received orders so I asked about mine which seems to be a crime according to the employee who warned me not to make her mad by asking because she was busy. So I asked if I just needed to wait out here maybe all day and I might not receive my order. Like the day before. I was told just to wait. I asked to cancel my order; employee told me no but agreed to cancel it when I became upset with my situation. What a circus of disorganization and unprofessionalism. If they cant handle the orders they have, why take more. Ordered from G Street instead, they called the next day and were very friendly and professional. Sent my order for free. Why would I buy from Joann's when there is a professional option.

I have never written a review before but I want to warn others of the sales practices used by JoAnn's and their online scam posing as a store! I ordered 12 skeins of yarn online because the local store did not have enough of the same color to complete a project and I wanted the same dye lot. I used Paypal for the order and have since paid for the yarn via credit card, but NEVER received confirmation of a delivery date from JoAnn's. In checking on the order I got a Tracking Number from Fed Ex but through checking with it the only information I could find was that the shipment information was sent but no product has been sent to be delivered. Tried calling the online customer service telephone number and it is bogus. It consistently sends you to another site that attempts to sell me other products. When I called the local store for help, the salesperson refused saying that since I ordered it online they could not help me at all even with an Order Number, nor would she give me a useful telephone number to contact the main office for help. This is the worst service I have ever experienced with any store and after over two weeks of waiting, I feel JoAnn's has simply stolen my money and has no intention of delivering my purchase. I would not recommend this store to anyone.

Horrible app, website, and slow pick up process.
April 11, 2020

Joann's app is so buggy. The app keeps crashing! I placed two orders for pick up at the store but the app doesn't give an estimate date of when order will be ready for pick up. Maybe don't offer curbside pickup if you can't handle it!

Most Incompetent Business
April 10, 2020

A week ago today I went to the Joann website to order a sewing machine to make masks for myself and for friends. The Portland Maine Store Said the model sewing machine that I wanted was in stock and that I could pick it up at the store. I also ordered some extra needles which were also in stock at the store. I assumed that I could pick all of the items up in a reasonable amount of time. But I could not. Earlier this week I contacted the store and told them I wanted to cancel the order and get a credit for the amount that they debited to my credit card. I was told that the only way to return the order was to wait until I got it and then return it to the store. But the store was closed so there was no way to do that. Yesterday the order arrived at the address associated with my credit card although I had indicated I wanted to pick the order up at the store. It had shipped from the state of Ohio and not from the local store. The return policy indicated that it was very easy to return a product just by taking it to the local store. There's no way to do that because the local store is closed. Yesterday I shipped the complete order back to the local store from my UPS store. The charge for the shipping was about $27. And Joanne fabrics is going to charge me another $7.95 for returning the order. I'm not sure how they will ever open their doors again if that's how they run their business. I don't know how long it will be before I get a credit or if I will get a credit at all.

I submitted an order Sat 04 APR 2020. Order was accepted - Singer 4411 and misc. Fabric. Never received an email. 05 APR 2020 Drove the the store from Methuen MA, waited for more than 2 hours - staff was strolling in and out with NO sense of urgency. May have filled 7 small orders while I was there for more than 2 hours. I saw three employees.
Went home, waited for an email. Never received it on 05 APR 2020
Received email on 06 APR 2020, saying Oops, no sewing machine. Really "Oops" no sewing machine. You have 3 days to pick up the rest of your order.
Called, spoke to someone who explained your ordering system isn't able to "really" know what's available. - I think you need an update!
They said I had until Wednesday to pick up the fabric.
Phoned them on 08 APR, to make sure Order *******8117 was still there, she knew my name and confirmed - yes it's still there.
Before leaving the house I checked online for their hours, which states 10-7.
I drove AGAIN, from Methuen to Seabrook arrived at 4:26 - only to find a note on the door. We closed at 4PM. REALLY... Why a note when all ordering takes place online. Have your IT system update the hours if you need to close.
I then phoned Methuen, who explained the resourcing issue, and how all they're doing is answering phones and cutting material. Yes - I know. My entire family is working on the front lines! That's why I need to make masks!
Dear HR:
Learn to run a business during a trying time such as this and if you can't close a few stores. You shouldn't be essential if you can't provide for your customers who need you during this time. If your stores aren't able to staff appropriately, combine staff in one store, close others and for the love of GOD... hire an IT dept. that is capable of updating your website real-time. FIGURE IT OUT!

I know everything is different with the pandemic, but Joann's cancelled my online order after waiting 7 days. They said the items were out of stock. However their website shows everything available.
Placed another order for the same items for store curbside pickup. Website shows plenty of inventory. 2 days later and no email to pick it up.
It's now 9 days since I tried to make a purchase. Joann's e-commerce was not good to begin with, but it's really bad now.

Joann fabrics is a thief
April 5, 2020

I wish I had read these reviews before I placed an order. They have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I ordered fabrics to make masks for hospitals as a donation. I paid for express shipping because I'm on a tight deadline. After I placed my order with express shipping I received a confirmation email saying that my order will be delayed. I was able to get fabric locally by ordering over the phone and picking it up. I emailed customer service within 24 hours asking them to cancel my order since it will be delayed even though I paid for the most expensive and fastest shipping. Virginia from customer service replied saying that she can't cancel the order but I can ship it back to them for a refund. There's no logic behind this. Why waste time on both sides and not cancel the order before it is processed? I've asked her twice to cancel my order but she insists to ship it and make me go to the post office to ship it back to them during a pandemic. This is not a good business. I'm not even sure I'll ever get a refund since so many other customers have not received a refund. Nobody should buy anything from them.
