I placed a relatively large order for yarn since I saw a deal on their website, yet multiple pieces of yarn that showed up as available on the website ended up "not being in stock" or available or however it was described.
They sent me an update email saying those items would no longer be shipped and that whatever hold was placed for them would be released. That was fine; again, it was a reasonably large yarn order (about 90 skeins initially), and I just figured if I needed those colors, I would order from somewhere else when the time comes—the email they sent also stated that the rest of my order would still be processed. I continued to browse their website and saw some other yarns that were also a deal and ordered about 70 more skeins in 2 different orders.
Fast forward to today, I got an email stating my entire first order was canceled. When I contacted customer service, they said that because they didn't have the "quantity" I ordered in a "few locations," they just canceled the whole order instead of processing the order through the various locations, which was appalling. Like you have the yarn, but not in one warehouse, so you would choose to lose money and be lazy as opposed to processing the order. I was also irritated, especially since 1. You don't have an order limit on your website, and 2. You don't give any options on where the order is being shipped from unless you choose to pick it up at a store. They then suggested I reprocess the order into multiple orders. Like what? Was I supposed to keep charging my card, and u cancel the order because the yarns weren't located in "a few" locations and I should have done this until I got it right?
At that point, I was kind of annoyed, so I asked that they cancel the last two orders too because there were about 35-40 skeins in each of those, and I figured if there were a problem with the first order, most likely there would be a problem with that one too. Plus, if I couldn't even get all of the other colors I requested, there was no use in me getting the multicolor, too (I combine the two to make hats and various other items). The representative stated they couldn't cancel an order by request. But you can cancel it because you don't want to process multiple items through various warehouse locations?!? This is why I will stick to Amazon. Many of these businesses will be going out of business, not keeping up with the times.
Word of Advice: if your items are being canceled but are still showing as available on the website, it's because they are available but obviously Joann's doesn't want to put in the man power to have multiple items shipped through various warehouse locations (or maybe they don't want to pay the additional shipping fee on a close to $500 dollar order). Something they described as a max location request or some crap. If you are a bulk shopper when you see deals, do not shop at Joanne's especially for yarn. I did the same at Yarn.com (WEBs) about a year ago because they had deals and I received everything in one shipment and it was a lot.
Do not shop online with JoAnn fabrics! They will hold your credit card hostage! Worst supervisors ever. Just thow the entire system away. Now i get to wait 7-10 days for a new card and product not shipped out. Very pisstoff. Never again. So many other places to shop without being robbed.
I always get good service at my local Joann, however when items i ordered for pickup are out of stock and they are canceled there is a hold for the original purchase for days and they also charge for the new amount. If you are on a budget that hold for the original amount can cause problems especially if you need to make a purchase to replace the items that were canceled or need that money for something else. Don't like it.
Ordered an order for my child's birthday to be picked up curbside at Bellingham WA location. Drove thirty five mins into town to pick up only to get there and be unable to get anyone to answer phone after twenty mins of calling I get phone answered and hung up immediately no greeting. Finally gave up drove home. Called customer service what an absolute waste of time representative tried telling me to just keep calling local number till I pointed out this was customer service and they were not helping the customer ten minutes in they decided to call local store branch to be met with the same bs service as me. I was then told I could go in to pick up, I'm a single parent who to immune compromised no I actually can't go in. So I was told I needed to just keep trying local. Four attempts later four separate times driving thirty five minutes in and waiting and repeat calling still can't get through. Order gets canceled and the Joanns doesn't refund me. Call customer service today and I get a bloody run around about being refunded my money that I never got items for. I get blamed for being unable to reach anyone at the local number and blamed for cancellation then then the get hung up on. After politely asking that a notation be made that (a) it was their error and (b) my kids not getting her birthday gift because I can't just run out and purchase elsewhere without my refund of my money that belongs to me. That not only am I an immune compromised individual I'm a single parent on a very fixed income of five hundred a month. And no refund or one that takes thirty days is thirty days past the birthday so no gift. Don't order from Joanns. Just don't. They don't care about their customers. Only money. I'd give zero stars if I could.
I ordered fabric before Thanksgiving and as of today, 12/14/2021 I have not received my order. I contacted Customer Service last week and was assured it would be here 12/13/2021. No package. Never again will I order from them.
I bought some ornaments for my tree. They were shipped in a flimsy bag. All were broken. I never received one ornament. I emailed customer service. They wanted to give me a refund on a joann's store card. Due to past experiences, where they never loaded the card, and I was called a liar at the store, I did not want a Joann's card. I asked for any other options. They Ghosted me after that. I had to contact the Facebook team. They offered me a corporate check. Nothing else for my trouble. Just a corporate check. I would have liked an apology or something. Instead, I waisted hours of my time just fighting for a refund. I will never order online with Joann's again. They also charged me for the item I didn't receive and told me that they didn't. They also charged me about $. 50 more than what they showed that they charged me on my order. It's like they are skimming. Anyway, avoid Joann's.com.
Not a very good selection of cords… I found Terri, not very personable… actually bland, disconnected and giving the impression that she could care less about what goes on in the store… No offer of any assistance from this person…. She stood there and watched me struggle… I was very surprised to actually see the word "manager" on her name tag. Maybe she was just having a bad day but, her lack of consideration left an impression
I ordered something online and Joann's canceled my order. I reordered it using a different name and card number in case that was the issue, and Joann's canceled my order again. I sent them an email asking about it and never got a reply. So I CALLED Joann's and they couldn't tell me why it got canceled but placed the order over the phone and said it went though. Never got it charged or a confirmation email so I called back and they said they didn't have any record of it. Super frustrating and will be taking my money elsewhere.
I ordered Advent candles which were shown as in stock. I've now learned they are not and will not be able to use them when I receive them. I attempted to cancel the order. They do not cancel orders. You have to wait until you receive it and then return it and pay shipping cost and return shipping. That's absurd.
I recently purchased an e-gift card for my wife. Within minutes Joann's had charged my debit card twice for $100 each time. I have now spent several days trying to get them to refund half of what they charged, as the gift card was only for $100. They seem to all be absolutely STUPID. Even after emailing a copy of m online banking page, they still don't understand what the problem. HELLO, you have $100 that's mine and I want it back. Now the whole world will be able to see how your business is run. You bunch of dummies might want to check out Order Order #CNDUN7ENHK, and then see how much money you charged me.
I will surely tell everybody to never do business with you, because it won't be a good experience.
Here's an edit, after multiple emails, and a nasty review, I finally got the refund. It's a shame that it had to come down to this.
This was the last straw. On-line ordering has not worked smoothly once from this company. 2 issues this time around with the first being inadequate amount of fabric cut; I ordered 6 yds and they only had 5 available and they fully expected me to pickup and be ok with shortage. However, 5 yards does not work for my project! They have you provide a contact number but the store did not call to check and see if this would be an issue(this was to be a curbside pu) - ah, YEAH! AND, there is something definitely wrong with the computer program that they use. They charged my bank account 10 times for a total of $775.00 for this past order and they say they are unable to correct; I was told I have to contact my bank and wait 7 days for it to clear! Don't need to tell you how that jams up my banking needs. The rep I spoke with was unapologetic as she was mostly unresponsive during complaint process - I get it, what can she say when the company she works for has seriously screwed up time and time again. Unfortunately this is not the only time issues have arose with on-line ordering from having to call to get a rep to process order as it would not go through or items being unavailable and they would ship partial orders resulting in having to contact customer service for a refund - so time consuming. Interestingly, I have yet to hear from CS and it's been over 48 hours > :(
If I could give "zero" stars I certainly would.
Ordering online is a huge waste of time. Order an item only to get a "delayed shipment" email four days later - then a cancellation email two days after that. The item is STILL IN STOCK on the website. So I order it again. Now I have yet another "delayed shipment" email. I tried calling customer service to cancel the order but they will not cancel orders that have not even shipped yet. I will never order from them again nor would I recommend anyone else order from them. Why is the item showing as in stock when you won't ship it? Unprofessional and awful service. Go to Hobby Lobby or Michael's instead and save yourself the headache.
I spent hundreds at Joann's and had my Christmas Tree get canceled for no reason, then the charge for the tree was pending in my bank for 2 weeks, until they shipped everything and released the funds. I decided to try to reorder the tree and the website said my information was incorrect and to recheck it, I did and nothing was incorrect, so I resubmitted it, with the same response. Transaction didn't go through, yet I got charged $127 two times and after calling and emailing them several times about this tree, I was reassured the money would be back in my account in a couple days, it isn't, they actually pulled money until they couldn't anymore and now it's overdrafted because of them. I'm beyond irritated and dissatisfied with their services.
I've been a loyal fan of Jo-Ann Fabrics for years but I've reached my breaking point with their policies & lack of common sense. Their website is so screwed up & their app is even worse! I kept trying to place an order online & there was an error with posting my payment & my purchase history didn't show anything went through so I kept trying & next thing I know I'm being charged for the same order 3 times & then there's another charge for a smaller amount that I don't know what it's for & neither do the employees! I contacted their customer service & was told an order can't be cancelled once it's place but I can return any I wanted items. Seriously?!?!? So if my card was stolen & someone else made purchases, I'd need the items to return them?!?!? Thanks Jo-Ann, I'll never be coming back to your store or website!
I ordered online thinking it would be more convenient. I was wrong! They charged me twice! Once when I made the order and then again in two separate charges when the items shipped. There was NOTHING on the website when I placed my order saying they would charge me the amount for my order as a hold and then charge me again! I called them and was told that they do this to make sure the funds are in the account. Then told me I have to wait 7-10 business days to get my money back. Of course this made me even angrier! I will NEVER order or buy from Joann fabrics again if this is the crap they're going to pull with their customers!
I made an order online. They shipped in multiple packages, some are still on the way and those that arrived brought negative emotions and disappointment only.
Beading needles came in opened package, one needle eye is broken. I tried submitting review regarding low quality control, but it didn't get through. Joann sent email asking to EDIT my review to "match their guidelines" if I want it to be posted. It had no strong language, false, private or not related to their service information. I gave it another try, rephrased and shortened it, hope it'll pass "moderation" and save others from having similar experience.
Customer service representative was nice, but said in order for them to replace broken item, I'll have to place a completely new order, pay for the item and shipping, and then contact them. I decided to pass and went for refund, not replacement.
Now I don't know what to expect from part of the order that is still on the way...
Ordered on line 10/31 said would be delivered 11/8. Not happen till 11/9 but still not delivered even though they said it was. Now informed will not do anything till after 10 days. Eve suggested I wait till following Monday or 14 days. For me to get credit. Do not trust if you need anything. I won't ever again. Shame on them. Would only reship for same thing to happen again. What horrible service
Customer service is a joke. Just go to Michael's instead. I've been trying to order online and my orders are constantly canceled. I have been trying to get a real person to help and 4 hours later, nothing. Customer service can't do anything (although they did speak with me for a while) and refunds (the department that supposedly is holding up my orders) flat out told me they won't help me. Don't waste your time or money. Michaels is way better, and cheaper. This store is stuck is 1900 and won't even let you speak to a real person to get an issue resolved. Absolutely the worst experience I've had with a retail store in a long time!
I live in Australia and placed an order.
Order arrived a total mess.(see pics)
Wanted replacement of missing items to complete a project but after such a runaround with Cust. Service ( if you can call it that) they gave me a refund. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and placed another order to include the missing yarn that they refunded me and guess what? Same again, items missing from order and back on the merry-go-round with Cust Service again.
Prices seem good but not worth the hassle.
I Ordered custom fabric. Website said 7-10 days and allow 2-4 extra days since coming from supplier. By the 10th business day I had not heard anything. I called and was told I would have it by the 14th business day. I did not. Then they gave me 3 more different dates and I still don't have it. They won't give me a refund and this was for a production at my school. I'm out the money. Also, once I asked for a refund then they created a shipping label and told me it shipped but didn't actually ship it until 5 days later. This company is a joke. Never again.
